So your post just made me go stare at the back of Taika Waititi’s head for several minutes and I…..don’t think it’s 3 buns. There are 3 bumps but I think the top 2 are actually a kind of figure-8 bun I fairly frequently do on myself
Oooo! That's a possibility too. I've never successfully made more than two buns at a time work on my head, personally, there's just not enough real estate and somehow too much hair? So that'd kind of make sense.
I also wonder if they use added in extensions for the updo to increase volume, though, because I've rarely seen even professional-grade wigs that were that luxurious, and it certainly doesn't seem that thick in the shots where it's down all the time.
