Welcome to Whumpmas in July 2025! 

Thank you for patiently waiting! As a reminder, we will not be reblogging any creations on this blog and will instead keep this blog as a space to only post the prompts, tags, and relevant information. We will post the tag for each day, and we ask that you use two tags when filling prompts this year so that others may find your creations easily:  Tag 1 —> #wij25day__ (Fill in the blank with the appropriate day number for the prompt you are filling! For example, if you are doing the prompt for day 21, make sure to tag your post with #wij25day21.)

Tag 2 —> #whumpmasinjuly2025 Be sure to also tag @whumpmasinjuly-archive if you would like your posts reblogged to our new official archive account! Of course, feel free to use any other relevant tags too! You can also find a banner that you can use in your posts (if you want, not required) under the #wijbanner tag.

The prompts are divided into three categories: community (red boxes), question (green boxes), and creation (white boxes). Everyone is free to participate as much or as little as they want–there’s no completionist requirement! This list provides a preview of the prompts, but on each day a more detailed post will be released with more context and additional suggestions for each day’s task. Similar to previous years, all prompts and other important information will be found under the #infowhumpmasinjuly tag and #infowij25 for ease of access. This blog will also use the tags #wijquestion , #wijcommunity , and #wijprompt respectively for each post so that you can filter and find the type of prompts you’d like to do.

Whumpmas in July 2025 Day 4

Post a prompt for someone else to fill on Day 28.

Whumpee was kidnapped by Whumper and conditioned to be a living weapon. After rescue, they are reunited with Caretaker, someone they loved before they were captured. Whumpee is horrified by what they have become and doesn't think Caretaker should be their friend, telling Caretaker that Caretaker doesn't know them anymore, can't know them because of what they've done. Caretaker's response is your choice!

wij day 7 - fic recs!

so i've been on whumpblr for not very long at all so i might update this list one day just to be fair but here are a few things i've LOVED

ch3 of @cepheusgalaxy's espada series - 'consequences named pain' - it's so heartbreaking and has some of my absolute favourite tropes in it (living weapon whumpee + water whump my beloved <33)

i haven't read nearly enough of @goes-whump-in-the-night's work (yet!!!!) but both 'on call' and the follow up 'time off' were genuinely some of the best pieces of writing i've read

ch2 of haunted artifact - 'pearl clutching' by @thewhumpcaretaker was SUCH a fun insight into the characters (and so sad... and so well written :) !!)

'nick's bed' by @pretty-face-breaker was SO GOOD genuinely had whumperflies the whole way

this piece and the continuation of it by @friendlylocalwhumper has not left my mind since i read it. both SO good and so fascinating

Day 27: Hunting

contains: death threat, recapture if you think about it, immortal whumpee, gun wound

Rayan had never ran quicker in his life.

Bare feet pounding against the forest floor, muddied and slippery from a recent rainfall, Rayan sucked in deep, heaving breaths as he sprinted. The forest blurred around him as he focused only on his path ahead; his throat burned and he bit back a cough, willing himself onwards despite his legs screaming in protest.

How long had he been running? For too long, perhaps.

Sparing a glance over his shoulder at the direction he'd come, Rayan yelped as his foot snagged on the root of a tree and he came crashing into the mud. Wheezing and spluttering, he dragged himself against the tree to take a fleeting moment of breath. Cradling his ankle, he sucked in a breath at the stinging ache — that breath turned into a whimper, then a sob when he looked up.

Car headlights. Gleaming and bright, stalking closer through the trees.

He knew who was driving that car. He knew what would be done to him if he let that car catch up.

But he didn't know how much longer he could go. Could he run forever, or will his wounded, Immortal body give up before he does? Maybe it'd be futile.

Maybe it was worth a try.

Steadying himself against the tree, knees buckling and ankle burning in pain, Rayan bolted again. Each step was more stumbling, more unsteady, but he willed himself onwards; what else would he do? What else could he do?

The sound of car wheels screeching pierced through the air, but Rayan ignored it. A yell, angered and quick, and he ignored it.

A single gunshot seemed to quieten the forest. For a moment, the birds stopped chirping. The wind held its breath.

Rayan faltered when he felt something warm beginning to coat his chest. He looked down, at the slowly pooling red under his shirt where his heart was. The pain came slowly through the fog clouding his mind — but when it did, piercing and blunt, he didn't scream. Didn't cry.

His knees met the ground again long before the man reached him.

"Stay down." His voice was faint in Rayan's ears, smothered beneath incessant ringing. The tip of a boot slammed into his side, and Rayan toppled to the ground with a soft grunt. Forced onto his stomach, the barrel of the gun nudged the back of his neck.

"Stay down — or I'll kill you, and this time I'll make sure you can't come back."

🩹 Years of Whumpmas Participation: I think all of them. I don't remember.

🔪 Favorite season: all but winter.

🩸 Average amount of sleep: 7-8 hours.

🩹 Dream Job: It's more like jobs I can't have because of my disabilities. Serving in the military ( perhaps more as a medic) working in the ICU at a hospital. Sadly I can't even work as a cashier.

🔪 Blog established date: 2020. I think in May.

🩸 Username/blog meaning: I started out writing Transformers stories, and I like the Autobots. 2001 is when I came up with my fanfiction series idea.

🩹 Hobbies: writing, playing games, pets. Maybe Youtube. Long story.

🔪 What you love about whump: Found family has helped me deal with my own shit.

🩸 Anything else to add: I currently post/ reblog Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, NBC Hannibal, and Transformers. One day I'll have a nice organized welcome post/ easy way to find everything. This may be unpopular, but I welcome everyone. My stuff is labeled, but obviously not everything I reblog will have warnings.

Also, I don't know, the idea of replacing something so solemn and kind of ancient with a modern English adjective made me laugh! Also, also! To me, saying "whumpee" is also saying "villain"... and I love guilt in whump!
