Something I love about the wild dragons is, you can pick their gender for your fics. The reason they are classified as male is because the only way to see if they are Female dragons is of they lay eggs. And how do they check that with wild dragons?

Thats why personally I believe Grey Ghost is a female dragon. You can make Cannibal female if you wanted. Sheepstealer I see as a male but I still personally believe that it could be female.

So yeah if you want your oc to claim a dragon but want it to be female, wild dragons are an option.

if some dragons (specifically from the forest variant of the dragon species) can mimic sounds and voices like crows and mockingbirds.

if this trait passed over into pygmy dragons and they are trained to use this ability to mimic the sounds of their enemies to lure them in.

just had a thought of a young dragon being curious about some fallen fruit after it sees other animals eating it and it tries some.

and it proceeds to get a bit tipsy off of the fermented fruit.

arctic dragons being extra fluffy due to their thicker feathers to give them more insulation. arctic dragons have almost completely black scales underneath to make sure that they absorb as much sunlight as possible (like polar bears). them being the largest of the dragon variants due to their fat and protein rich diets. arctic dragons having feather patterns like snowy owls and gyrfalcons. arctic dragons not using their fire as much due to them relying on it to regulate their temperatures and using too much fire could result hypothermia or brumation due to them burning up all of their fuel.

dragons being feathery and fluffy. like that situation of people thinking all dinosaurs were just scaly all over, only for the discovery of feathered dinosaurs. if baby dragons are like fluffy little chicks right out of their eggs and a human goes “oh how cute” and tries to pet it and then they lose a arm.

these humans still having that weird human tendency to want to pet things they think are cute. not even cute, just pet things in general because their society has allowed them to get comfortable enough to not just immediately jump to kill these fluffy little menaces on sight (long story and history of dragons preying on humans in the past).

dragons having different feathered patterns and features like birds of prey to give some variety. the ones in the frozen regions looking like snowy owls while others look like typical birds of prey found in forests and mountains.

dragons just being like weird messed looking birds, but they’re not birds. they’re the secret third thing that comes with being both a cold-blooded reptile while having the feathered patterns of a red kite or a kestrel.

So it's been on my mind long enough, the wild dragons are supposed to look like scraggy, ukept versions of the dragons we've seen so far, bigger and more damaged so which dragon type do we think Sheepstealer is gonna warp?

The wild dragons of Dragonstone. These are dragons that have never been ridden and live freely on Dragonstone.

The Cannibal (one on the left): A large charcoal black dragon with green eyes and flames, said to have lived on Dragonstone before the Targaryen's arrived. The Cannibal was known for breaking into hatcheries and eating dragon eggs and hatchlings alike. As mentioned before the small folk claimed the dragon has lived on Dragonstone before the Targaryen's arrived, but that is most likely a fable.

Sheepstealer (brown one on the right): A skinny mud brown dragon that is nearly 100 years old. Sheepstealer was known for hunting and eating sheep and the occasional sheep dog, but strangely never harmed a shepherd unless it was provoked. Since it's describe as a "skinny" dragon I made it look more like Caraxes.

Grey Ghost (grey one on the bottom right): The youngest of the wild dragons. Grey Ghost was around 10 years old and was known for being rather shy and hid in the mist and fed on fish from the waters around Dragonstone.

These will be the last dragons I draw for a while since I want to focus on dinosaurs for a while.
