The gem of Havasupai! Any amount of words of praise falls short to describe this place! We decided to hike down to the pool below in the first hour of the day. And I am so glad we did it! It was a perfect dreamlike setup - the tall and mighty canyon walls, the roaring falls, splashing water droplets, deep blue color and the pleasant ray of sun. The different expressions of this majestic animal! He was in the middle of a stream, looking for Salmon that swim and jump against the current to travel back to its birth place. He had all the patience in the world, to sit at the same spot and wait forever, to find his perfect opportunity to catch a fish! Cannot stress enough about the difference between day light and night light in Alaska! First picture was taken at 9AM and the other was at 11PM! Mount McKinley glowing at 1:30AM! Note: Zoom in to check the details on the ice! -The Story of A Midnight Beauty- The sunset happened at around 12:20AM and even though the sun had found his way down the horizon, the beloved sky was still as bright as day! We met a couple on the hiking trail and they mentioned that the mountain would turn pinkish red as the sun goes further down. As time passed, the whitest white color of the ice started catching some light shades of pink. About an hour later, this happened! We were not expecting something like this would appear at that hour of the night! What do you even call this color as? Is there a name for this color?🤔 We were spellbound! Anyways, this gorgeously dressed up Mt McKinley was right opposite to our tent, and we soaked in all of the show that she offered! We had to drag ourselves to bed (sleeping pad😉) at 2ish as we had an early start by 5AM the next morning! The Big Brown Bear of Alaska! This was a very close and personal encounter with wild Alaska! Doesn’t he look like a cute puppy, but only bigger? 🐻 . . We spent hours watching him feed on Salmon - a precious seasonal meal. He would dive into water and come up with a salmon in his mouth. He would then take it to a nearby island and feast on it.
