So, everyone guessing yesterday, most of you were right! The hand belonged to an Orang Utan ( Person of the forest ). I am happy and so lucky to have seen this critically endangered species, both in a conservation centre ( where they are roaming freely) and in the wild. The two other places were Kinabatangan River and the Rainforest Discovery Center. It is the only type of Great Ape in Asia. It was absolutely fascinating to observe them, to see how human like and intelligent they are. But the story of the Orang Utan is a sad one, I will share more infos with you in my next posts. I took the photo of this male Orang Utan in the evening, he was probably getting ready to climb the tree to make his nest. Yes, those nests I shared in the previous post are built by Orang Utans, apparently they build a new one every day!
