A little Wildfire

Blake: So, you're a dad now? Jaune: Looks that way. Blake: And Cinder is... mom? Jaune: I mean, yes? Why? Both turn to see Cinder laying on a couch with little Wildfire asleep on top of her. She gently pets their hair while they sleep. Blake: So, you going to take responsibility? Jaune: Am I going to take- Blake: *Giving him the a generous eyebrow wiggle* Jaune: She was fused with me for years. What would make you think she would want to be stuck with me for even longer? Blake: I haven't hear a no. Jaune: *Blushing* Shes not with Salem anymore, isn't that enough? Blake: *Grinning now* I'm still not hearing a no. Jaune: Cinder mind helping me out here? Cinder: I don't know, I haven't heard a 'no' either. Jaune: Uh...oh I'm in danger. Blake: Hey at least Wildfire is the only one calling you Dad. Cinder: I can change that if you like? Jaune: I am in great danger. Blake: *Smiling innocently* You wouldn't like someone calling you- Jaune: Don't Cinder: Daddy? Jaune: *Freezes blushing harder* Blake and Cinder: *Both with a smile like they won something*

Wildfire Arcfall looks like a very adorable and friendly child!!

So how in heck did they come from Cinder!?!??

They’re a friendly child with a LOT of issues, don’t let their happy exterior fool you

Wildfire has the body of an eleven year old, but they remember all of the shared trauma from the Ever After. They were created out of opinions and needs that Jaune AND Cinder had

They both wanted to leave the Ever After, so Wildfire does as well. They both wanted to live, so Wildfire does as well. Unfortunately, they both also hate themselves, so Wildfire does as well. It’s an intrinsic part of their being, they exist because of this overwhelming shared experience of two people despising each other and themselves and being forced to stay together

Luckily, Jaune and Cinder both also wanted to start over, so Wildfire does as well. And because of the Blacksmith, they actually get a chance to do that in a more authentic way than anyone ever has. So Wildfire is friendly because they’re experiencing the world for the first time

I know you say Cinder doesn’t enjoy hugging at all, but she still cares about Wildfire right?

Oh she very much cares about Wildfire

Cinder doesn’t enjoy hugging, because for the majority of her life, physical contact has only been associated with pain. It would take a long time, if ever, for her to become more accepting of hugs

But she also knows Jaune. The two of them were fused for decades, their minds combining so thoroughly that an entirely new person was created as an offshoot. And as such, she knows that Jaune needs physical affection like he needs water and air

Since Wildfire is only half Jaune, they don’t crave contact as much as he does, but they still want it more than Cinder. And because she DOES care for Wildfire, she’s willing to deal with her own discomfort to give her “child” what they need

They’re physically about ten or eleven (Alyx’s age) and their memories are mostly intact. They chose to stay basically as they were, emotionally Jaune and Cinder’s kid, but with the body to match their mental age

On the first night in Vacuo, Jaune gave them his hoodie and Wildfire has refused to take it off ever since. The rest of their clothing was bought when RWBYJC arrived in Vacuo

Where Jaune Arc finds that not only can his semblance heal, it allows him to fuse with another Aura, both body and mind. At Atlas he uses this to his own destruction. Fusing with Cinder Fall as she was primed to slay Weiss. Jaune chooses to send the fused body off the bridge into the Ever After. Years pass for them, no longer Cinder nor Jaune, there became tales of the Wildfire Mage. Protective and angry, helpful and sarcastic. They were limitless constrictions.

RWBY found them, Jaune and Cinder still fused after years alone. It hurt to see them. Missing a leg, lost to something they wouldn't say. Replaced with maiden glass. Missing eye covered over. They do not recognize the women at first. Not answering to either Jaune or Cinder, only Wildfire. Its been too long.

Following the events of the fight vs CC and Neo, Wildfire is grievously wounded ending up in front of the blacksmith. Jaune and Cinder finally able to separate there remained a third. Wildfire, they had taken on a life of their own over the many years. Making sure they survived.

The Blacksmith give all of them another chance. However they wish. In the end, they chose themselves, even Wildfire.

Hey, its me again, so I wanted to ask if it was okay if I wrote about the fusion AU, with little Wildfire as well as Cinder and Jaune acting as their parents?

There is so much there I want to explore and I want to do it respectfully

Ok hypothetical for Wildfire/Fusion AU, so after they leave the Ever After and Wildfire is made what would happen if Jaune and Cinder were to fuse again. Are they still able too? Would there be two Wildfires? Can we just keep throwing Jaune and Cinder into the Ever After too just mass produce Wildfires?

Hypothetically… yes? How long they spent there trapped in a fusion was the only reason it was even possible, so they’d need to spend decades fused again. So it’s possible, but not really viable. Also, the resultant Wildfires (if they even manifested) would be very different people, because Jaune and Cinder are very different people now

As for Post-V9, Jaune and Cinder CAN still fuse they just REALLY prefer not to. Wildfire is amazing, that their suffering could create someone so wonderful is incredible. But spending decades with your soul combined with another’s makes you wary of trying that again

What if they fuse again and this time they’re stuck like that forever? What if their souls have become so intertwined that when they unfuse they’ll have lost pieces of themselves? What if by not fusing in the Ever After, Wildfire ceases to exist?

So they don’t fuse again in the timeline where Wildfire exists. In the canon fusion AU where they don’t, maybe. But definitely not in the one where they do
