We're talking about religion, we're talking about how religion and the gospel and the way we're treating the two today, just kind of deteriorate a little bit. And for me personally, it's almost like, there's two different ways the gospel is being preached today in America. On the one hand you've got this fire and brimstone, stand up on a soap box, and condemn people to Hell, but hopefully that brings them to Jesus. I mean yes, it's amazing that we have this thing and sometimes we wanna just burst with passion and tell Christ's love, but again, it's gotta start with love. You CANNOT tell non-Christians, "Look, you guys are screwed up, you guys are making all these mistakes," when they don't even believe in the gospel that recognizes those things as mistakes. The other approach--this one's tough--this prosperity gospel that's kind of coming through today in America's churches, is basically pulling in people because it's saying, "Listen! We've got a message to make all your problems disappear. By accepting Jesus, coming to church, by doing all these good things, your career's gonna blossom, you're gonna make lots of money, things are gonna start falling your way." And I think that's such a problem with Christianity today. I mean, our relationship with Christ DOES NOT promise us just, rainbows every day. You know, we're gonna be tested, we're gonna have things that we struggle with... I struggle with things every day! I guess what I'm trying to say is if you're going to church to get the encouragement that you're looking for, to keep searching after those worldly things, and you think God is trying to give you those things, you're dead wrong. Why would God want you to go to church to pray and to get closer with Him, just so you can make more money, just so that your career will give you all the desires of this world, that clearly He doesn't want you to need?
