“The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim” Anime Announced

New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. Animation have partnered on a new anime film The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim. Kenji Kamiyama is directing the film. Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews are writing the screenplay. Philippa Boyens is serving as a consultant. Joseph Chou is producing. Sola Entertainment is in charge of the animation.

The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim explores the battle that helped shape Middle Earth, expanding the story behind the fortress at Helm’s Deep. The film will delve into the life of Helm Hammerhand, King of Rohan.

The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim is a standalone film, but will also serve as a companion piece to New Line’s Lord of the Rings trilogy.
