Incorrect. The legality of incest is different from one country to another, and even in the USA, it's not universally illegal; there are some states that allow it. If you don't want to write it, that's your prerogative, but don't make pretenses. Would you refuse to write about homosexual marriage? Because that's also illegal in most parts of the USA.

okay, I'll admit then that that's my mistake, and I'll take it off my 'reasons I won't write it' post when I have time.

But anon, I just want you to take a step back from this for a second and think about how you rudely came into my inbox to tell me 'Hey incest is not punishable by law sometimes' in order to, what, try and tell me 'incest isn't that bad, you should write it if you're willing to do gay marriage'? those may not ha e been your exact words, but that's what I'm pulling from this.

This comparison is stupid. Gay marriage shouldn't be illegal, for one thing (and isn't where I'm from! boy howdy!). Contrary to what I assume is popular belief among people who are against gay marriage, two people of the same sex/gender getting married does NOT cause harm to other people, or those involved. No kids are gonna be traumatized if I decide to marry my partner. On the other hand, incest does cause lasting emotional and psychological trauma to many, if not most, of the people who are victim to it. Especially when it also involves an adult and a minor.

A quick google search should tell you all you need to know. But in case you don't want to do that...

In abnny case, I think your point here is that 'incest isn't illegal everywhere.' That doesn't make it ok. And it IS illegal where I'm from. I don't think I'd get punished for writing it, but that doesn't mean I'm up for writing it. I feel like it would do more harm than good.

Look. I try to be nice to people who come into my inbox, even if I don't agree with them. But you came in here whining about how I won't write your kink, nitpicked at my reasoning for it, and tried to tell me that I should justify myself better. If you're into incest, go ahead and fantasize to yourself or read other authors' smut or whatever, but you're asking the wrong big sister to do it here.
