My theories for this episode

I don’t really post much on tumblr but I sat here and typed this all out so I figured I might as well post it... Sorry for the links, I’m not sure if i added them in properly, so if someone would like to fix that for me than that would be great!

Okay so here is what I think happened here. I mainly wrote this to calm myself down… don’t really know if it helped at all but here are some theories about how I think this is gonna go down.

First of all, I think Jemma ‘fell in love’ with Will because he was there. She had given up hope and he was there, the only one there. She did not have a choice really, she had no way to get home. He was her comfort at that time and HE WAS HER ONLY CHOICE. She didn’t believe she would ever get back home, that she would ever see Fitz again. So of course she is gonna go with the only option sitting in front of her. Of course she would want some happiness in her life, she deserves it.

But now, Fitz is a choice to her again. He did get to her, albeit after jemma had given up hope. He brought her home. And I think that scene where Will tells her to go is very important. She could have stayed with Will, she could have chosen to stay, to choose Will. But she left Will, yes he urged her, but she left him to find fitz and go home. That was her decision.

I think that she is going to realize over the course of fitz helping her reopen the portal and save Will that she is still in love with fitz, that her ‘love’ for will was out of hopelessness, that it wasn’t exactly her choice, there were no options, it was what she was given. We know that Fitz is going to go with Simmons back to the alien planet from the episode 7 synopsis as it says something about “them” going through the portal… if someone would find me that link that would be great… I saw it earlier…

Anyway, I think through the process of getting back to Will, she will go through this journey with fitz and realize that SHE IS STILL IN LOVE WITH HIM. Liz has been saying in interviews that fitz is ‘in her bones’ and that she never really fell out of love with fitz. {x} {x} but I think this will happen after they get Will back. I honestly think that this revelation will be mid-season finale… and I think fitz will decide to leave. I don’t think he will be able to handle seeing jemma in love with another man which is totally understandable. It’s just all around a shitty situation, and he will most likely want space and time to think, to figure out his own feelings, because I seriously believe that this might be it for him, that this will be his catalyst to finally move on from Simmons. (I mean she is his best friend first and foremost, and I think he will always want to keep that relationship, but he needs time to get over her so that he can still be her best friend and not make her feel uncomfortable around him in any way.) I think that’s when she will realize that she needs him, that she wants him, that not only does she love him, but THAT SHE CHOOSES HIM.

But I also think fitz might have just had enough. Which is an extremely sad thing to think about. Never, ever giving up on her and all that. Maybe its because I’ve been listening to say something on repeat while writing this, but I think fitz will be ready to say goodbye, that he’s given up on her romantically. (You’re the one that I love, and I’m saying goodbye…) He will tell her that he wants her to always think of him as her friend but that he can’t do this, that its not her fault, he understands, he just has to leave for a while, to basically get over her. And then she will tell him. And I don’t think he will believe her. He might even start laughing. I’m kinda picturing it right now. She tells him that she really loves him, she chooses him, and he starts laughing. Gives himself a good chuckle. He will laugh because after all this, after everything, she now finally chooses him, but he has also finally decided to move on, to let her be happy with Will. And when he finally stops laughing he’ll say something like, you’re kidding right? And she will have tears in her eyes. And he will realize she’s not kidding. She is telling him the truth. But despite this, she still broke his heart, he still needs time to heal. He tells her he needs to think about all this, he still needs time to figure everything out. She says that’s okay… ill  be here when you get back. And cut mid season…

I don’t know, I think they might go down this route. I’m super sad because I cannot think of a single way they can do this where fitzsimmons get together in a good way. What I mean by that is that it isn’t forced. Because I don’t think Fitz will think of himself in any other way now than just her option 2. That she has Will now. Hell, he might even just be sick and tired of the drama. I think he will leave either way though to have some space and time, maybe even go visit his mum. Do something normal, just take some time to clear his head. Then when he comes back, he will have made up his mind. Whatever way this goes though, I hope it’s for the best. Because right now this seems cheap.

 Now my thoughts on Will because he seems super sketchy....

I think that Will might be the hunter. I am not thinking this because I don’t like him, because I don’t mind him, he’s a pretty neat character. I just don’t like what he is being used as. A plot device. Anyway, we never see Will and the hunter in the same shot do we? Like on the screen at the same time. We only ever see them separate. And we don’t see Will when he is talking to Jemma in that windstorm at the end of the episode after she sees the Hunter. I’m wondering if he really did go crazy. And he is killing everyone because he couldn’t protect his friends, he didn’t do his job, they all died. So why do other people deserve to survive on this hell planet. But I think it’s kind of a split personality. Like he said the planet does it to people. So maybe when he is safe in that little cave he is protected, but when he is outside, he can trip out or something? Like that heat source is like an anti-crazy thing?  And when he was yelling at Jemma in the windstorm was him splitting personalities really quickly, appearing as the astronaut was him when he was yelling but when he changed into the Hunter he was absorbed by the crazy and didn’t urge her to run. And then when we see Will grab Jemma, we don’t see the Hunter? I don’t know it’s just a possible theory. This episode has me in a mess so if you read all this then thanks… Hope I make sense...

Honestly, i’m just hoping everything turns out all right in the end. All I want right now, is for both Fitz and Simmons to be happy. Whether that is together, or apart, romantically, or platonically, I just want them both to find happiness. This whole situation is just screwed up and I will continue to try and find hope out of it all. As Jemma herself said, there’s always a sunrise eventually... right?
