11. What do I love about them?
Oh yay! Thanks for asking this! I got kind of wordy but I'm just gonna leave it all in lol I hope that's ok 🥴
I love them for so many reasons, of course. Ultimately, I just think they balance (and mirror) each other so well. They had very similar childhoods -- happy kids from good healthy loving homes. Then they each had a traumatic experience around the same age (16ish) that really derailed them. And they both ended up enlisting more or less as a result, both threw themselves totally into work, both absolute workaholics who never really look up from the job in front of them (as Kaidan says in ME1).
Then they meet each other, and Kaidan is there to facilitate her, and I think theyre super compatible from a work flow perspective. I think they make sense to each other right away, Kaidan can anticipate her needs pretty easily which makes him good at his job, etc. Then eventually that perfectly symbiotic working relationship starts to bleed over into romantic feelings, but I don't think either of them could pinpoint when that happens... or Kaidan, probably very early on. For Allie, probably early on but she'd be much less aware of it because she's just flirty by nature... And obviously, it's a bit less consequential for her in a way, being the superior officer. I think Kaidan feels a lot more vulnerable about it than she does.
And I think she would be thinking she's just toying with him until basically the locker scene, when he pulls her up like that it totally flips the dynamic. And she's like oh he's just been holding back, he's not actually so soft. That's when I think she really has it bad for him, and she knows it.
And I think she needs someone who wont let her steamroll them -- I think ME2 is actually vital to their relationship for this, I think it gives her a new respect for him. Because she can be extremely dominating, but Kaidan has boundaries and is proactive about setting them. It couldn't work between them without that. And she loves pushing boundaries so that's fun for them 😂
And yeah, I think that speaks to what I like about their dynamic. Obviously anyone who's ever read anything I've written will probably know that I love that balance of power between them, that he outranks her but she's in command over him, that they're both Spectres and equals. By ME3 he just feels like he's truly her equal, not in a token way but in all his professional accomplishments, how he interacts with her, how he carries himself.
TLDR I think they just implicitly understand each other, they're extremely similar and where they do differ, their differences are very complementary. They just really feel like partners to me, and they feel like soulmates. Like they started out so similarly, had similar/parallel paths, ended up in the same place, and each of them is exactly the person the other needs to get thru all this bullshit.
17. What do they do to make each other think, damn that's hot?
I think Allie knows very well how to turn on the sex appeal and does it frequently lmao. Like, girl knows her angles and can feel his eyes on her and so she takes her armor off just so after a mission, that sort of thing (especially in ME1 lmao).
But also, watching her boss everyone around and everyone just falls in line, watching her intimidate people -- I think he'd definitely get a little private thrill at knowing that when they're alone, she's following his orders 😏 and actually, I think he finds it just as hot when she's bossing him around lmao
For Allie, especially in ME1 I think she finds it super hot when he uses biotics -- because she can't. I think it would be insanely hot watching this guy you're already very attracted to literally manipulating gravity lol. And actually I think in ME3, when she has biotics herself (to the puny extent she does) I think she just has an even deeper appreciation of his power. Like she's trying to control a pull and he's next to her reaving. I think shed be even more turned on once she really understands how fucking strong he is. And also, she's not used to people being SO MUCH BETTER at something than she is 💀 so I think she'd like that feeling that she can't even rival him, no matter how hard she tries he just hands down whips her ass here 10/10 times and I think that would be a huge turn on for her lol.
33. Double date with another OTP!
So I answered this for @spacevixen2024 but there's more than one good couple in this universe!!
I'm imagining an alternate universe where Ashley lives, and her and Vega double date with Kaidan and Allie. Tbh I think Vega and Ash are so fucking cute together 🥺
I feel like Allie and Kaidan would be like, the older wiser couple and Ash and Vega would be the young hot couple that keeps them young 😂 I think it would be fun for the original Team Milky Way to relive their ME1 days and Vega is like wait wait what? And they have to get him up to speed.
I think one nice thing about this double date is that everyone would pair up naturally with everyone, like all 4 are friends with each other on their own wavelength. I think there would just be a million things to talk about and it would never be boring or awkward.
I think Allie and Ash would boss the guys around, like "go get our next round" and Vega would get up and do it and Kaidan ... May or may not, depending on his mood and whether he felt like he had something to prove lmao.
Later in the night after quite a few drinks, Kaidan and Ashley would talk about Allie going down with the Normandy, Allie and James would ask questions about the aftermath. Every drunken night needs at least a little trauma bonding.
Allie and James would definitely talk about their 6 months together in lockdown and I think Kaidan and Ashley would both feel kinda weirdly jealous but Kaidan definitely wouldn't say anything, Ashley might if she were drunk enough -- and if she did, I think Allie couldn't resist egging her on like "I get your concern, James is a good looking guy, it's a lonely time for me... We're spending all that time totally alone..." And Kaidan's like ok wait hold up what? And James is like NO NO NO NO NOTHING HAPPENED NOT EVEN A LITTLE BIT and Allie is like "🤷🏻♀️ who's to say?" And James is like Shepard pls no 🥺
