THE DIVINERS TAROT — will & the lovers. ( insp. )
I finished reading The Diviners series and I have some thoughts about it.
If Evie and Sam were Disney characters they’d be Duchess and Thomas O’Malley from The Aristocats and no you won't convince me otherwise.
As much as I would like to see Jake and the Shadow Men get Murder On The Orient Express style death scenes. I feel like they're probably going to get too big for their own boots around the King of Crows and he’s just going to set the hordes of the dead on them like he did with Luther and Conor.
If anything happens to Isaiah in the next book I’ll riot. LEAVE THE CHILD ALONE!
As twisted as this may sound I cannot wait to see more scenes with the Diviners and the King of Crows. His relationship with them is so interesting to me, on the one hand, he definitely seems to want them dead and on the other, he seems weirdly possessive of them? I’m also super intrigued that the main diviners that we’ve seen the King of Crows interact with are Isaiah, Memphis and Evie.
CAN EVIE CATCH A FUCKING BREAK FOR ONCE?!? My poor girl found out her brother who she thought was dead for years which has contributed to her negative mental health and dependence on alcohol may still be alive, her brother's lover was murdered in front of her, she was nearly assaulted by one of the boys she had a crush on, her best friend was murdered, her boyfriend was kidnapped and her uncle who she never got to patch things up with was murdered. Seriously when all is said and done she and Sam need to take a holiday.
Did anyone else absolutely sob over Henry and Louis’ last scene together in Lair of Dreams or was that just me?
Speaking of Lair of Dreams, I loved Evie and Memphis’ scenes together at the end of the book when they spilt up from Sam and Theta so here’s hoping they get more scenes together in TKOC.
“Any last words?” Adams snarled. Blood filled Will’s mouth. “Vive la résistance.”
If Evie has to face the ghosts of Mabel, William, Conor or Luther I’m going to crawl into the book and strangle the King of Crows myself.
Roy has big ”I’m gonna get fucking murked energy” and I for one can’t wait to see him get what he deserves.
Let Theta, Memphis, Isaiah and Archibald the cat get that house with the lemon tree and the little dog for the love of God.
If Sam and Evie don’t get to reunite with Miriam and James after everything they’ve been through my heart might actually break.
T.S. Woodhouse doesn't get the appreciation he deserves considering that he gave us the amazing Sam and Evie fake dating plotline in Lair Of Dreams.
The plot twist of Evie being the eleventh offering aka The Marriage of the Beast and the Woman Clothed in the Sun was executed brilliantly. I saw it coming a mile away and when Hobbes found a scrap of Evie’s gold coat I just about threw the book across the room. Also, their final confrontation was incredible.
Jericho never got to explain to Will why he went to live with Marlowe.
