sorry if you dont want updates but your post showed up on my insta feed so i think youve marked your spot in tumblr history
is this what'll finally get me into one of those "guy reads tumblr posts aloud while laughing obnoxiously" youtube videos
another count vertigo fan i cant believe this... im working on a vertigo reading list rn (by reading through all his appearances) and id love if you had any feedback so far :3c
rn im just abt to read suicide squad: raise the flag ^u^
@williamapologist
Aaaaaah!! Yeah it's so exciting to find other people who love Werner out in the wild! He's such an interesting and nuanced character.
How exciting! That'll definitely help make him more accessible to people.
I'm going to suggest some comics, but it depends on what you're looking to add in your reading list. Are you looking for major appearances or would some where he's not as big of a major player but still appears and has a few lines work as well? Or just all of his appearances?
I would add Manhunter (1988) #7 to the reading list because that has a decent Vertigo appearance in it as well as gives some more info on Vlatava and Vlatavan's who immigrated to America. This one is a more significant appearance on his part.
I would also probably add: (These aren't in any particular order; just what I can spot that isn't on your list.)
Legends (Vol. 1) #4
Suicide Squad (2007) #4-8.
JSA (1999) #9-10, #16-17.
Green Arrow and Black Canary (Vol. 1) #18
Manhunter (2004) #33-36
52 #34 (Maybe; He has multiple appearances in 52, but #34 is the only significant one. He does get some nice art in them though, so it depends on what you want to include.)
Catwoman (2002) #74, #78 (you could probably exclude #78 since it's a flashback of what happened in #74)
Secret Six #17, #18
And that's all I can see as far more significant appearances for him go (also good art of him). I would check the DC wiki for his New Earth Appearances if you want to see a list of all of his appearances in comics and see if you're missing anything or if there's anything you want to check. That's personally what I use, though there is one incorrect listing on there for him which is JSA #52. He's not in that issue at all.
do you know if any rogues have a themed car? im trying to compile supervillain cars and i do know the trickstermobile exists but im curious to see if there are any coldmobiles or topmobiles i missed lol
The Fiddler had a Fiddlecar and a Fiddlesubmarine, though he's not exactly a Rogue. Other than that, there's a sad lack of Rogue themed cars besides the Trickstermobile! But Digger had a boomerang-shaped airship, which is pretty badass, and Sam had a solar powered aircar with mirrors on it.
Flashpoint Hartley had a Smartcar Pipermobile though, which was in themed colours and probably environmentally friendly and is thus on-brand for him.
Another look at Sam's mirrormobile aircar.
thoughts on this riddler design from immortal legends batman?
PROS: black hair <3 EARRINGS <3 cane <3
CONS: still looks like he's in his 20s, no wrinkles :( dan mora gives everybody the same build :( plain green suit with no question mark pattern :( but im willing to give grace for that last one depending on the rest of the outfit that we cant see
OVERALL GRADE: 6.5/10 design. not quite as good as his preboot looks but much better than most of everything else since like 2013. i would not mind this influencing more fan designs as it would mean no longer having to endure that ginger beast
tickle me this batman (horsebite)
Spoilers for Kid Flash: Going Rogue in this post! Also, sorry folks: now I'm talking about it, and not positively. You can skip this.
williamapologist replied to your text post: damn, i was hoping it'd be somewhat good 💔
It's probably good for other fans. Hartley gets treated with empathy and sympathy, and Axel's fine, he's just a goofy jokester. Can't say the same for Rosa, who is genuinely abusive to Lisa and to everyone else, and doesn't even have any backstory as to why -- she's just a huge asshole. In the end, she only feels remorse because all the others have rightfully shunned her. I'd hate her too.
belphegor1982 replied to your text post: :( Aw, I'm sorry. At least we still have fanfiction…
Thank you :) That's all I have these days, and there's been some mean ones as of late 😥
katzedecimal replied to your text post: That's what fixit-fic is for
No salvaging this, unfortunately. What bothers me far more than the story itself is the general disrespect from DC -- they wouldn't treat a popular Rogue like this. They'd never make Len an abusive psycho, but Rosa screams at Lisa, makes her do whatever she (Rosa) wants, and always makes Lisa apologize when Rosa has behaved poorly to her. Lisa is acting like an abused woman, because she is. Roscoe has had dialogue in ONE canon issue over the past 20 years, and then they toss us an insulting bone like this? Earlier I was shocked and upset, now I'm beyond pissed.
