Alan has always believed in Hal's ability to redeem himself but Hal was willing to give up redemption entirely to protect Alan. Gay as Hell. One time Hal as Spectre showed up to heal Alan's injuries but then left as he was waking up.

Count Vertigo/King Faraday:

If you know anything about Werner Vertigo, you will know that he is rarely decent or personable with anyone. But with Faraday, he clearly respects and is friendly with him and you can see the same vice versa. He even jokes around with him which is big. He’s never joked with anyone else in canon.

They've got colleagues to lovers energy. They came as a package deal after they (along with Amanda Waller) all got kicked from Checkmate, and Amanda restarted the Suicide Squad. * Like why are you thankful on Werner’s behalf, Faraday? Why are you thankful he joined up along with you? 👀 *They also mention or refer to each other so much. More so than any of the other characters mention them.

There is funny pun/banter potential with them. Like with how Werner wanted to be the king of Vlatava at one point, and instead he would just end up with a man named King. That’s one way of getting what you want.

They both have the most closeted bisexual vibes ever and would fit together better with each other than they would with any other character as a potential love interest. * Werner just genuinely reads as a closeted bisexual man if you look at his interaction with women. * Faraday was one of those smooth operating spies who always seduced the ladies back in the day, so it would be ironic and fitting, as a character who never had a long standing romantic interest, if he just ended up with Werner instead.

Aaaaaah!! Yeah it's so exciting to find other people who love Werner out in the wild! He's such an interesting and nuanced character.

How exciting! That'll definitely help make him more accessible to people.

I'm going to suggest some comics, but it depends on what you're looking to add in your reading list. Are you looking for major appearances or would some where he's not as big of a major player but still appears and has a few lines work as well? Or just all of his appearances?

I would add Manhunter (1988) #7 to the reading list because that has a decent Vertigo appearance in it as well as gives some more info on Vlatava and Vlatavan's who immigrated to America. This one is a more significant appearance on his part.

I would also probably add: (These aren't in any particular order; just what I can spot that isn't on your list.)

JSA (1999) #9-10, #16-17.

Green Arrow and Black Canary (Vol. 1) #18

Manhunter (2004) #33-36

52 #34 (Maybe; He has multiple appearances in 52, but #34 is the only significant one. He does get some nice art in them though, so it depends on what you want to include.)

Catwoman (2002) #74, #78 (you could probably exclude #78 since it's a flashback of what happened in #74)

Secret Six #17, #18

And that's all I can see as far more significant appearances for him go (also good art of him). I would check the DC wiki for his New Earth Appearances if you want to see a list of all of his appearances in comics and see if you're missing anything or if there's anything you want to check. That's personally what I use, though there is one incorrect listing on there for him which is JSA #52. He's not in that issue at all.
