I just realized in willow she’s playing a mandolin!!!
During the part where she’s trapped in the box.
Mandolins are commonly seen with court jesters or fools.
Who are there for the sole purpose of entertainment for the king and really made fun of at times.
So not only was she trapped in the box stuck entertaining for the masses. She was portraying a court jester or fool there to be laughed at. In Daylight she say, “Luck of the draw only draws the unlucky. And so I became the butt of the joke”
Which sounds pretty similar to the description and idea of the jester there to entertain and be made a fool of.
Also! Taylor has an unreleased song titled Mandolin! High key great song, I’ve always loved it.
It’s about a guy who is a performer. It has the lyrics:
Even though this song is from so long ago I think it still represents her now. She has this love of singing, writting, playing, and performing. And it started and she dose it because she loved it. Eventhough she’s gotten fame she’s always tried to keep herself grounded as much as possible.
We see this genuine love of preforming that she talks about in the song Mandolin. When she steps into the box. Sees the mandolin in her hand and then has the moment of joy playing and singing. BEFORE she relizes she’s trapped in the box.
Which really represents her journey from being the mandolin player loving music to getting trapped by the other aspects of fame.

i just really love how in the willow video the "one single thread of gold" didn't only lead @taylorswift to love but also to music and her true career path that didn't box her in a cage 🥺🥺🥺
