I willow weaved a bird feeder at the garden yesterday. I love it so much ❤️
~ Handicrafts belong to a world existing before the separation of the useful and the beautiful ~
They look as though they have grown from the forest floor.

Willow Basket Weaving
Willow cut from plant is on table, two different varieties, left side. As I started working on the basket a weight is in the middle to hold it down.
Finished basket I made with a variety of willows, as you can see the various colors. Also, various types of weaving. Handle is a willow stem.
Start from the bottom and then work your way up.
Added the willow to the base. Before starting the weaving for the sides of the basket. Workshop I took was outside due to Covid 19. A good idea anyway, since you need space to spread out as you make the basket.

Sunday 8th December 2019
This morning mum and I attended a little wreath making event at our local RSPB centre; it was so lovely to learn a little bit about willow weaving as well as get the chance to make our own festive wreaths.
