this one goes first to @monstricidal. because. let’s talk about kat and how she called out a couple of things that actually ended up being in hannibal show canon before they happened. let’s talk about how kat’s aesthetic for alana bloom became alana bloom’s aesthetic in the show in the third season after kat had been writing her for a while. let’s talk about how dedicated kat is to alana’s mental state of being, how hannibal affected her life prior to the show and how that has continuing impact on her mental state of being, how her alana bloom actually got her spine fucked up and deals with that while dealing with hannibal fallout. let’s talk about alana bloom deserving better and kat constantly and consistently giving her better while not making it unrealistic to the verse she is in. let’s talk about kat not ignoring the darker and lighter aspects of alana’s nature and using them both. let’s talk about kat allowing alana to be a fucked up human being but also allowing her to grow. yo let’s be real here how many of us think more of alana bloom in one form or other for reading kat’s alana.and this one second is going again to @fionagoode but for, like, entirely different reasons. because what i want to talk about here is dedication to a muse in spite of triggering or problematic material in canon. now, what do most of us do in that situation? we avoid or ignore it. we don’t have anything to do with it. but, like, i know for a fact that carrie has a hard time watching coven, but that doesn’t stop her from day after day, week after week, month after month, year after year going back to fiona again and again and not shrinking away from the things that cause her problems but instead embraces them and finds a way to work with them and still remain in character. like - i’m not sure there is a better definition of dedicated than to continue with a muse despite personal issues with their canon and to not look at those things and remotely consider dropping the muse as a result of them.
