Donny Williams had this to say "I'm the first police cadet to be a chief. I'm the first resident of public housing in the city of Wilmington to be a police chief. The personal approach and reasonability shown by Williams during the protest of May, 31st gained him support and appreciation from Wilmington protesters On his second day with the official title of Chief, Donny Williams fired 3 long time WPD officers without hesitation.
