Hey ummmm, do you have any Techbur thoughts or smt???? It’s like one of my main OTPs but ya know, no one ships it
Gotta admit, it's not like my main ship (Techza, be still my beating heart (´,,•ω•,,)♡ if it's not obvious lol) but I have some thoughts for you, good anon.
I can understand why it's more of a rarepair, what with the DreamSMP canon relationship being so fraught. But hey who said we have to stay canon? (and who doesn't love a little tragedy)
-
So staying in the realm of DreamSMP for a moment... Let's go to the L'Manberg revolution. Wilbur is standing with his allies in front of their new flag.
He laughs and says, "I wish I could see my husband's face right about now."
Most of the others are curious, especially Fundy who's never met the man before. Wilbur's mentioned his mysterious husband in small snippets during their time together. He's a conqueror, but turned over a new leaf and swore off governments. He's the one who taught Wilbur how to forge weapons. He drinks his tea with too much sugar, but Wilbur still drinks it that way when he's feeling homesick.
And when they finally have their independence, Wilbur's first act as president is to send out a letter telling him what's happened and grant citizenship to his husband, Technoblade.
-
It's the Pogtopia rebellion. Technoblade arrives at the Dream SMP holding a letter from Wilbur asking for him to join him at his brand new country. Technoblade gets the feeling Wilbur described in his letters of founding a country, seeing it flourish, doing something everyone thought they couldn't do, and then leaving it all behind for new pastures.
But as the days pass in the gloomy halls of Pogtopia, he gets the impression that he's missing something. Everyone that enters is so on edge. Tommy, an endearing little gremlin, treats him like a ticking time bomb. Tubbo, Niki, and Quackity pop in and out so fast Techno barely learns their names. Wilbur sneaks out at night when he thinks Techno's asleep and returns before dawn with traces of gunpowder in his trench coat. None of Wilbur's allies show even a little recognition at his name.
Techno keeps quiet, gathers information, listens in when Tommy and Wilbur think he's away and argue like their lives depend on it. Maybe they do. There's dread building in Techno's gut that Wilbur didn't call him here to show off his new country. Wilbur called him here to make sure they could spend his last moments together.
(and then there's a race against the clock of Techno setting off the Withers to distract everyone while he confronts Wilbur in the final control room. And even when he tackles Wilbur to the ground and horrifically injures himself even through the blast resistant armor, Techno still won't hurt Wilbur. He knocks him out with the sword and calls Phil for help to hide away in the tundra and recover physically for himself and mentally for Wilbur.)
(because I'm a wuss and can't kill off characters.)
(Don’t think about Techno deliberately hiding the extent of his injuries from Wilbur. Don’t think how Wilbur will react when he walks in on Phil helping Techno with his physical therapy with his whole wounded body on display.)

It's the start of New L'manberg. Ghostbur is a shadow of his former self. He doesn't remember a lot of things and tends to lose track of what he's doing, but he's determined to have the best ghostly time. If only he could find his husband. Or well- he's dead, and he's definitely not Alivebur, so maybe he shouldn't call Technoblade his husband. After all, "'Til death do us part" was in their vows. But all of his favorite memories are of Technoblade. Does he not get to hold his hand anymore? Does he not get to kiss his snout? Does he not get to sleep in the same bed does he not get to wear his ring does he not get to remember their wedding does he not get to hear that technoblade loves him-
Oh! Look at all this blue!
He wonders into the tundra what might be hours, days, months later and knocks on the first door he sees. It's snowing quite hard and he doesn't want to melt. To his surprise it's Technoblade his husband. Techno's definitely surprised to see him and bundles him inside. It's quite nice to be bundled up. It brings up all sorts of nice memories. Even when Alivebur was getting scolded for going out in Antarctica without proper gear, he still enjoyed having Techno dote on him.
Ghostbur notices the gold ring still on Techno's right hand. It was something he did for Alivebur, so that when they held hands their rings would touch. But Ghostbur isn't Alivebur. So Techno doesn't have to wear his ring like that anymore.
Ghostbur tells him that. Techno stares at him a little bit. He glances down and stares at the gold ring still on Ghostbur's left hand. He doesn't say anything, but Ghostbur still gets a funny bad feeling in his gut. He doesn't remember it very well, but he thinks Alivebur didn't like when Techno did that.
Techno hums deep in his throat. (Oh Ghostbur remembers that. Alivebur liked that a lot.) He goes and rummages around in one of his overfull chests, and returns holding a pink tulip. He asks if Ghostbur will have dinner with him. Ghostbur's confused. He remembers when Alivebur and Techno went on dates. It always started like this. They're not married anymore, so Techno doesn't need to take him on a date.
You're not Wilbur, Techno tells him, but you're part of him, and I love all parts of my husband.
Oh.
That's such a nice feeling. It's so pink. Maybe Ghostbur can start collecting this pink instead.

He's alive! He's finally alive again! It's just after the Red Banquet and Wilbur is resurrected. He's ecstatic. There's so many things to do. So many places to see, people to talk to, plans to plot. So many things! He's been stuck in that goddamn train station for 13 years, and everywhere he looks is a breath of fresh air. Tommy's voice is so loud. Tommy chatters and shouts and talks his head off. It's noise. Noise! No more silence of the empty station pulling down at his lungs pressing in on his head ringing through his ears even as he screamed and screamed and begged for someone else to appear and put him out of his misery even though he was already dead until his voice went out and then there was nothing to stop the silence from clawing inside his head and-
There's so much color out here! So much color to look at and memorize! Wilbur almost forgot about it during those thirteen years with nothing but drab walls to stare at. Everyone he meets is practically dripping with color. Maybe he should get a new coat. One not so drab. It should be bright! He came back after all! What's important after coming back? Sightseeing and talking and planning and doing doing doing AND getting a new coat!
Even the dirt and cobblestone looks bright. The snow biome they're entering is a little harsh on the eyes, he's not gonna lie. But he'd go blind a thousand times over staring at it. That can't stop him because he's never going to stop again. Not now that he's out! Tommy' still talking. And now he's talking back. And oh! A new person. Now Ranboo's talking. Maybe Ranboo shouldn't talk. He can talk, but Wilbur will talk back. Maybe grate at him a little. Grate at him a lot. Dig into those insecurities. Factor him into the plan. Get inside his skin and twist until he fits right how he wants him.
Oh! And there's Dadza! It's been so long since he's seen him. Phil sure has a strange look on his face. It reminds him of his death. Good thing Killza was right where he needed him! What a good plan. He makes sure to thank Phil. No need to be rude!
There's so much to do still! So many things already getting done. He has a bed now. It's brown! There's sure to be some bright fabric around here for a new coat. Maybe in Phil's other house. Wilbur walks across the bridge and walks right in. There, sleep mussed and blinking through those gold spectacles he always refused to wear in public, is Technoblade.
And.
Everything.
Stops.
