Most people thought that music within the Winchester household stemmed from John, that his taste of rock and roll had trickled down to all three of his children. While this does apply to the second eldest, Athena's taste in music stems directly from her mother.
Mary Winchester loved music. She sang to her children, she twirled her daughter around to records that spun in the living room, and she would hum whenever she was in the kitchen. She would sing the Beatles to Dean as he slept, and ABBA to her daughter. When Dean was older he clung to John, even as a small child he understood to a certain degree that his father favored him and soaked up all the attention and tried to be as close of a clone of him as possible. Athena instead gravitated toward Mary. Mary always put Athena first and despite John's preference for having a son, treated her with the same amount of love. Unlike her husband, Mary had leaned toward softer music, electric guitars swapped for acoustic. Mary's favorite band was Fleetwood Mac, and thus it was also Athena's. Athena loved whenever her mother would use the record player. When the record player was on everything melted away, leaving the two girls under the spell of soft and gentle music. The record player was sacred to the eldest Winchester child, because when the record player was on it didn't matter that Dad had taken Dean out to go play catch, or took him to baseball practice, it just mattered that Mom was there and she cared. Mary would always smile when she saw the mess of blond hair standing in front of the machine, watching as the vinyl spun.
For her sixth birthday, Mary had gifted her a Rumors cassette tape. Athena had loved it so much that it was practically un-listenable, but it still sat in the bottom of her duffel bag, resting in a small cloth bag that held any memories of her mother left.
Athena almost never got to choose the music. John was strict about the Impala, and always reinforced his power by dictating what came through the speakers. Often it was rock, other times the deafening silence that was coupled with disappointment, other times it what whatever shitty radio station the town they were in had. When Athena was old enough to drive her siblings around without John (this was much before sixteen, because John was anything but a law follower), she would often be forced to use John's cassettes because Dean would complain about the 'girly music'. The only time she could indulge in her mother's music was when she was alone doing supply runs, or using Bobby's shitty stereo system he gifted her. The Walkman, that she definitely did not steal, mostly sat in a tangled mess of wires, only used when she was making food for her bothers and fixing up cars at bobby's (in both scenarios her headphones would remain around her neck playing the music softly so that she could hear threats or the call of her brothers).
Solo hunts were not knew to the freshly nineteen year old Winchester, but solo hunts where john would dump her somewhere and rip her brothers from her was becoming more and more regular. Athena didn't mind solo hunts, they beat hunts with John any day, but hunts where she had no idea where her boys would be and how John was treating them made it difficult to focus.
South Dakota was having a vampire problem. It was a simple case, really, something that should only take a hunter, maybe even two. Something that Bobby could easily handle. What made this nest different, was its ever growing size. Every time a local hunter would kill the last one, more vampires would pop up, it was like the hydra of vampire nests. Bobby had noticed that most of the victims, who were often turned, were teenagers. Likely the head vampire would use the local high schools to scout potential vampires and draft the high schoolers whenever numbers got low. That's where Athena came in. Athena was going to be attending Harrisburg High school and attempt to find whoever was turning all of these teenagers.
Despite the multitude of nice motels that filled Lincoln county, John Winchester had managed to find the shittiest and most run down one for his daughter. She send a small smile to her brothers as she got out of the car, receiving one in return from Sam and a scowl from Dean. She shook off the look as the Impala peeled away. Dean had started to grow teenage resentment for his sister, not understanding why their father 'favored' her (despite it being the exact opposite from the truth) and just the feeling that grows within one as they get older. As much as she hated herself for continuing the favoritism within the family, Athena was much more occupied with thoughts concerning Sam. She knew that the youngest Winchester was sat directly in front of her in the line of favoritism, in the eyes of John that was practically the bottom; since he barely even considered Athena someone to think about. Sam and John often butted heads, and Athena had received many shiners in place of Sam. She shakes the thoughts away, the faster this is over the faster she can ensure that they are both safe.
The boy at the counter is bored, she can tell immediately by the expression on his face; likely one of his parents owned or managed the place and forced him into the position he's working. She flashes a small smile, enough to be polite but not too much where he will remember her. "hi" she greets "single with a queen, please" she puts down one of the many fake credit cards.
The boy's eyes glance up at the presence of a customer. He nods, long hair falling into his face. "how many nights?" he asks, handing her the card back.
"a week is fine" she smiles softly, slowly formulating a cover story for why she is here in the first place. It needed to be vague enough where it wouldn't raise suspicion or be something that could be used by cops to identify her.
The boy doesn't ask any questions, simply handing her a key with numbers chipping away from the plastic fob, "enjoy your stay" he mumbles out. Athena just nods and breaths out slightly as she moves toward her room.
The door creaks and groans when she pushes it open, revealing a motel room that was no different from any of the thousands she has stayed in. The bedspread seemed relatively clean, the carpet only had a few mystery stains. It was good enough, she tosses her duffel to the corner and moves further into the room. She moves methodically through the space, first checking the bed for bedbugs (she has had to get rid of too many of her favorite clothes because of this, let alone the amount of Sam and Dean's). Once she ensures that she is in the clear she moves toward the en-suite bathroom, glad that she doesn't have to walk down the hall to share a shitty bathroom with whoever else resided here. It seemed clean enough, less mold than she was used to, and it didn't show signs of cameras. She sighs and flops onto the bed, running a hand down her face. After a bit she heaves herself up and grabs the threadbare journal that held pages upon pages of chicken scratch (aka her 'research'). Along side her research and hunt logs, it also held different identities she held and what state they were tied to, different recipes that the boys liked, and a few of the boy's achievements.
The small TV flickers to life as she presses the power button on the remote, her cheek pressed into her palm. She looks through her notes on vampires, getting no where, it was all tactics to take them down (which she already knew). She slides her laptop closer to her, it was mostly duck tape at this point and it was begging to be thrown away. Athena scanned the missing people posters, looking at the high school year book photos that sat under the bolded 'missing' on each flier. Nothing in their descriptions showed any discernible pattern, because why would she get a simple case? The corner reports also proved no help, just pale bodies devoid of any blood. She lets out a long groan, comparing the missing persons reports to the bodies, jotting down who didn't have bodies found. The list is roughly six people long, and she deduces that they have been turned. Carding a hand through her hair as she studies the faces. Aurora's growing hunger forces her to abandon her research, shutting her computer and shuffling the papers to the side. She ruffles through her bag, grabbing the things she would need for the store and taking out anything too incriminating.
She lets out a low whistle when she sees the dust covered AMC Eagle in the back of the parking lot. The blue of the car was dulled by the amount of dust and bird poop that covered the sun bleached. The door pops open with a quick jab to where it locks into the frame. A quick punch separates the cover from the steering column and she easily hot hires it, causing it to purr to life. The drive to the store was quick, Athena enjoyed being able to play music other than rock and have the wind blow through her red-orange hair.
Athena's lanky body was perched at the pay phone, leg propped against the wall. Her hands held bags of shitty food and candy bars (a girl was allowed to indulge once and a while) and a few school supplies because she had to at least appear like she was going to do work. Smoke rolls lazily out of her nose, the pay phone ringing. She speaks the second it connects, "This Robert Singer's residence?" she pitches her voice slightly lower and gives it a sense of authority. A smile crawls onto her face when she hears him fumbling around on the other side, "Bobby" she speaks, smile audible, "'s me… 's 'thena"
"Christ" he sighs, clearly running a hand over his face, "what the hell you doin' kid?"
"sittin' outside a shitty grocery store.. 'm near your place" she muses "John's hot me workin' a case down here… high school something"
"'m surprised you ain't over here robbing my fridge"
"that an invitation for me to come over?" a smile forms around the cigarette, "didn't know you missed me that much"
"yeah yeah" the line disconnects causing the girl to snort. Aurora flicks the cigarette onto the ground, snubbing it out with her boot and walks back to her car. She headed back to the motel, grabbed the rest of her stuff, and started to Singer Auto.

Rumsfeld is greeted with a loving rub tot the head and a soft "hey, boss, how's it?" as she walks past. The rottweiler trots after her, knowing she would give him food, and darts through the screen door to ensure it wouldn't lock him out. The rubber soles of boots hitting the ground causes the elder hunter to look up, his eyes meeting the girl he saw as his daughter. He watches with a small smile as she unlaces her boots and leaves them by the door, her duffel abandoned next to them. "bobby?" she calls into the house.
Bobby stands, the chair beneath him creaking and groaning with age, "well look at you" he smiles, taking in Athena's new appearance, her hair had been a soft pink last he saw, "john got you workin' down here?"
She nods with a hum, already moving toward the fridge. She begins to rummage, glass bottles clinking against one another, "vampire thing… gotta enroll in the school"
He nods coming up behind her, cuffing her upside the head "outta my fridge" his voice devoid of any real malice, "you need help with the documents?"
"what am i some kinda rookie?" she turns to look at him, arms crossed. Blue eyes soften after a beat "can i stay here?" her voice soft and low "kinda wanna be away from a motel.."
The older hunter looks down at his daughter "room's still the same… all yours" he answers with a smile. He doesn't get a verbal response, just the small nod and smile as she bounds up the stairs.

Requested by : @tr4zh-k1tty : Could I request like young adult Winchester reader having a huge one-sided crush on Rowena, I mean sure it's a 300 age gap or more idk, but they are probably worst.
Pairings : Rowena Macleod x reader
Warning : curse wordss
-----
"Helloooooooo!"
Oh...You've been impatiently waiting to hear those words... They hit your stomach so much more than anything else did. More than the spiciest taco ever could-
All of a sudden, a wave of embarrassment hit you. Rowena only decided to come when your hands were deep down the sink, unclogging the drain. You hurriedly soaped up your hands and rinsed them, faltering as you turned to look at...
Oh my....
It was as though a light transcended the thick walls and beamed against the witch's skin. She glowed as her bangs fell just over her eyebrows, ironic since her eyebrows are the most expressive part of her....her lovely fucking face...and you...your stomach...
"H-Hey-" You leaned back against the counter, the words slipping out your damned mouth like butter on wet marble. You cursed yourself internally. Did you have to sound so damn stupid?
The worst part of it all is that- As she walked by you, Rowena's lips tugged upwards, her eyes blazing through you.
Your nose picked up her scent and it sent adneraline coursing through you.
She knows how you feel about her and she loves it. She loves playing around like-
"Could you play with anything but my emotions?"
The witch froze and so did you-Fuck, man- you didn't mean to say that out fucking loud-
You agonizingly watched, body stiff as she turned around, lips curling in a wry smile.
What? Your head tilted to the side in confusion.
"Oh darling." Rowena purred as she leaped forward, stopping only an inch away from your face. Her eyes brightened and eyebrows arched upwards as she stared right through your eyes.
Her presence felt like it was pressing on yours. God-
"You know i'm...a teeny bit too old for you"
About 300 years but-i would've cared earlier if i wanted to.
"Plus, I...I must admit i don't share your feelings-"
Your heart stung, although she hadn't finished her sentence.
"but..." The witch brought her index finger to your cheek, ghosting over it. "I am...flattered!"
Pinching your chin, she pulled it forward toward her. "Sorry, darling." Then she tilted your head to the side, gluing a sensual kiss to your cheek before pulling away.
You stood frozen, all coked up- your face flooded with heat. No way that just happened to you. Classic Rowena, playing you like this-
"Did you just get friend-zoned by a medieval scammer?"
You spun around, snapping back to reality. Dean- not now, my guy.
You clicked your tongue as your eyes rolled to the back of your head. Dean wasn't actually looking for an answer and you weren't planning on answering him, anyway.
"I get it- she's hot but....Rowena?"
Apparently, he wasn't done either.
"I mean come on, man!"

Hiiii, sorry for the wait- hope you liiiked it! What do we think? 🖤🖤🖤🥀🥀🥀
- You joke around with Lucifer and your brother, Dean, doesn’t like it :)
fluff 😇
1.2k words
I walked into the room that my brothers were in, "Where's Clarence?"
"Not sure, said he had some angel business to deal with." Dean muttered as he continued to stare at his laptop screen. I sighed and fell down onto one of the chairs "I'm booorreedd." I whined and nobody said anything, "Ok I guess I'll go annnd.." I paused while I thought about what to do, "Find a case." Normally they would 'advise' not to because it could be dangerous on my own, but they didn't even look up. Maybe I should elaborate, "Actually you know what? I'm gonna go find a vamps nest." Ok they definitely wouldn't let me go alone. But I still got no answer.
"Ignore everything I just said, I can't be bothered. I think, I'm just gonna go talk to one of the angels." I hoped that would get their attention considering they dislike most of them. "Hey, I should go talk to the devil, I mean he's probably pretty lonely." Ok that must have gotten there attention. Nope, still nothing.
Alright well, "Lucifer. You know? Satan?" That caught their attention and Dean glared at me but I smiled innocently. Sam looked at me over his laptop, "What? Sorry, I'm just trying to figure this out and I feel like I haven't slept in years, did you say something about Lucifer? Has something happened?" I could tell I hit a bit of a nerve by mentioning his name but how else was I supposed to get their attention. "No, well yes I said I should go talk to him 'cause he's probably lonely." I smiled innocently at them again but they didn't look very happy.
"Don't even joke about that. I don't want you anywhere near him." I could tell Dean was serious but I didn't understand why. Well, I did, I knew why. He's killed people, he wanted Sam as a vessel, he tried to start the apocalypse and he is Satan. But I know a side to Lucifer that they don't, a side to him that's not all death and destruction.
I was about to speak but I felt the temperature drop. I saw the panic in Sams face and Dean reached for his gun by instinct. "You called, darling?" Oh joy, Lucifer is here.
"What a pleasant surprise." I turned to face him with the fakest, most cheesiest grin I could manage. "You were thinking off me so damn much that it basically came to me like a prayer, why were you thinking about me, Y/N?" He smirked as he walked closer to us and I rolled my eyes. "I was thinking about how much of an ass you are, my brothers here were agreeing." I smirked right back at him and he scoffed "I know you like me really and you enjoy my company more than anyone else's, you're not fooling anyone." He shrugged slightly like what he had just said was painfully obvious.
"Ok that's enough, I can't take it anymore. Lucifer what the hell are you doing here, really?" Dean looked pretty mad that I was joking around with the devil but who can blame me, he's quite funny when he's not trying to start world war three.
"You act like I'm about to try and start the apocalypse Deany, I mean c'mon, I'm totally over all that now." He smiled like he just told Dean he'd bought him some flowers and baked him a cake. "Right of course, I'm sorry for assuming the worst from the literal devil, you must've just popped in to give me chocolate and watch a movie with us." Dean spoke sarcastically and Lucifer pretended to be offended and shook his head. "Wow. I know you don't like me, but that was harsh. I mean, I really did come here to watch a movie. Not with you exactly, but that is the reason. I can't believe you think so lowly of me Deano." Lucifer matched Deans sarcastic tone and it just pissed my brothers off even more, meanwhile I found it to be good entertainment.
"First of all, stop adding letters onto my name. Secondly, if you mean that you came to watch a movie with my sister? You can forget it. I won't let you get anywhere near her." Aaaaaand protective brother mode is officially on. "I'm already near her." Lucifer scoffed as he walked closer to me and threw his arm around my shoulders. "Dude get your big ass arm off of me." I tried to shrug his arm off but he added another arm so he was giving me a really weird side hug, successfully trapping me in his arms.
However before I could complain anymore, a sudden gunshot echoes throughout the room and it makes me flinch. Lucifer let go of me with a grunt. "Ouch." He pouted like a child that didn't get his own way.
I turned to look at him and realised that Dean had shot him. "Was that really necessary, Dean? I can handle myself against big ole pouty satan over here." I felt him poke me at the insult so I looked back at him to see him still pouting and I giggled. "Yes. It was completely necessary. I told him that I wasn't gonna let him near you, Y/N. I don't like how close you two seem, all buddy-buddy and shit, it's not right. Has he got you under some sorta spell? Do you need help, Y/N? 'Cause I definitely do not have a problem with killing the devil himself." Dean looked between the two of us practically giggling like a pair of school girls.
"Yes Dean, he has me under a very powerful spell." He didn't look impressed with my sarcasm. "Whatever, but you hurt her and I swear I will find a way to end you." And with that promise he left the room. We both looked at Sam and it was pretty awkward for a second before he cleared his throat "Yeah, Well I- erm- I need to carry on with this, so.." He got up and walked out with his laptop.
"Wow. You know, you could be here to kill me and both of my brothers just left me to be murdered." I joked and turned around to face him.
"You know I'd never hurt you though, right? You are one of the very very few humans I can tolerate." His smirk was replaced with a genuine smile as he looked down at me. "I know." I nodded and it was quite for a moment as I looked at him, taking in his features. Damn, his eyes are so pretty and his hair looks so fluffy, I want to just run my hands through it so fucking bad.
"So," I cleared my throat like I was trying to get rid of the tension in the room. "What movie do you wanna watch, Luci?" My eyes widened slightly as I realised what I had called him, but it was too late, he had already heard it. "'Luci' huh?" I was about to start apologetically rambling before I noticed a grin spread across his face. "I like it, but only from you. I don't want some demon walking around calling me 'Luci ', it'll ruin my reputation." He chuckled, "Oh and I'm 99.9% sure that you forgot I can read your thoughts, your eyes are pretty too." His smirk was back as he cockily walked out of the room, leaving me stood on my own in embarrassment.
How do you think the Winchester dynamic would change if they had another sibling that was the youngest? I’m particularly curious how you think Sam would treat them and stuff!
Thanks for the ask anon!
I'm the oldest with only one younger sibling, so I don't have much experience with three kids/middle child dynamic. The idea of Sam suffering from that "overlooked middle child" trope breaks my heart for him, but he seems to be the type who doesn't mind avoiding the spotlight, so I'm not sure he'd really mind. I think if they had a youngest sibling who was a different gender than them, he wouldn't suffer from that as much since he'd still be considered the youngest boy. But either way, I don't really think it would affect how Sam treats them.
I think both brothers would be very "no one's allowed to pick on my sibling but me" attitude, and both would be very protective over a younger sibling. There would be a lot of teasing, but also a lot of love, too. I think if their youngest sibling was very fem, they'd be even more protective since a lot of hunters (and the world at large) unfortunately can be a bit sexist and disrespectful, especially of fem hunters.
As far as how the dynamic between the two of them would change, I think Dean would obviously still be protective over Sam as well, but would have less of a "Sammy is baby" mentality and delegate some of the protect the youngest tasks to him. I feel like Dean would be aware of the forgotten middle child trope as well as do his best to make sure he never made Sam feel unimportant or left out, but would slip up from time to time. When that does happen, I think Sam would be more frustrated with Dean than anything else since he's empathetic enough to realize it wasn't the youngest's fault and would work really hard to not take it out on them. But if he ever did, he would do whatever it took to make it up to them while Sam and Dean worked out ways to make sure it didn't become a pattern.
Pairing: Dean Winchester X younger sibling reader(not in an incest way)
Summary: Dean is there to help his younger sibling after they have a nightmare
Words: 2211
Warnings: fairly angsty, but still very very fluffy, a detailed nightmare, mentions of John Winchester’s parenting style, bad writing?, like one cuss word, a tiny tiny bit of gore
Note about characters: in the present scenes the reader is 16 and in the flashbacks they’re 6 and the reader and Dean have like a 13/14 year age gap so he’s like 19/20 in the flashbacks, there isn’t any gendered terms for the reader so it’s neutral(unless you count hair being braided as a gendered term, but boys can have braided hair cause gender isn’t real), and finally this takes place in season 5
Dean woke up, not for any purpose, just one of those weird moments where you randomly wake up in the middle of the night. He shook his head and began fluffing his pillow, stopping when he heard soft crying.
“(Y/N)?” He softly called out.
You were laying with your back facing out and your face squished into the musty cushions of the small motel room couch, a failed attempt at muffling your cries.
“Y-Yeah Dean? Something wrong?” You tried to play it off.
“I was gonna ask you the same thing. Were you crying?”
When you guys first got your room Dean cursed the streetlight right outside the window, but now he watched how it illuminated you as you dropped your head down.
“Nightmare?”
You looked up and made eye contact before slowly nodding a yes.
“Think you’re gonna be able to go back to sleep?”
You dropped your gaze again as your face screwed up and you could feel new tears form on your lash line.
“No.” You softly croaked out, barely audible over Sam’s snores.
~Flashback~
You couldn’t breathe, too focused on staying quiet to risk opening your mouth. Once the sting in your eyes and the back of your throat calmed down you went back to sleep.
“Sammy?”
You screamed out running through an old grey house.
“No no no please no!” You heard him scream somewhere you couldn’t find.
“Sammy!” You huffed before taking off running down the hall you came from.
As you ran around the house you felt small and helpless, like when you got separated from your brothers in the corn maze at the pumpkin patch in Iowa, the one Dean took you to without your dad knowing.
“Dean?” You desperately called for your brother as your feet pounded against the floor.
Completely unaware of your surroundings you ran, the only thing on your mind was finding your brother. Not paying attention to your surroundings you tripped, your heart raced knowing how your dad always got on you for that. You got up and looked down to see what sent you flying to the cracked floorboards.
“Dean!” You screamed
You woke up again, heart pounding in your head and toes. You stopped gasping for air when you felt your dad roll over next to you, holding it in again to stay quiet. Collecting your moose and your blanket, the one you got in Oregon when you were 3 and have refused to sleep without ever since, you slipped off of the bed as silently as possible. Your dad and Dean were fumigating a house in a fancy neighborhood so the only hotel available was a little nicer than your usual moldy motels. The vinyl floorboards stayed quiet as you snuck over to the door that joined your brothers’ room to you and your dad’s. You glanced at your brothers sleeping in their beds before moving their jackets off of the chair that sat in the corner. Dropping your blanket on the floor you traded it for the two flannels that were under their jackets and curled up into the chair. Once you were comfortable you finally let the tears flow, crying softly at first and burying your face into Mort the moose as your chest heaved more and more with the weight of your cries.
“(Y/N)?” You heard Dean call out in confusion as he shut the drawer of his nightstand.
“S-sorry for waking you up.” You tossed off the flannels and picked up your blanket, heading back to your proper room.
“No, no, hey, hey, come here.” Dean moved over in his bed and opened his arms, lightly flicking his wrist to call you over to him.
You gingerly padded over to his bed and with a little effort jumped up.
“I’m gonna guess it wasn’t growing pains that woke you up.” Dean chuckled.
“Ok, I’m sorry, bad timing. Now come on peanut, stop giving me that face and come in closer.” He said shifting so he could comfortably open up his arms for you.
You still continued to pout, but scooted into his embrace until your body felt lighter.
“Sorry.” You quietly mumbled, it came out kind of funny because of how your cheek was squished against your brother’s chest.
Dean pulled back and nudged your chin up, signaling you to make eye contact with him before resting his hand on your shoulder. His comforting softness melted away as he turned dead serious.
“Listen to me, do not ever and I mean ever apologize to someone because you’re upset. Ok?” He searched your eyes waiting for an answer, which you gave him with a nod.
“Now tell me why someone broke into my room and stole my favorite flannel.” And just like that Dean pulled you back into him and your softy of a brother was back.
“Dad yells at me when I don’t sleep and when I cry and when I ask him questions, so I came in here to cry” Even your big brother’s arms couldn’t shield you from the sadness that entered your body.
“Well I’m not dad, neither is Mort the moose, and neither is Sammy.” Dean started.
“Sammy snores now, he’s old.” You shot Sam a dirty look even though he was dead asleep.
“Yeah Sammy is old now, he drools too.” Dean joined you in giving his younger brother the stink eye. “Now tell me, what has my peanut so upset?”
“Nightmare.”
“Nightmare? Do you wanna talk about it?” Dean began playing with your hair as he awaited your response.
Staring up at your older brother’s face you thought about it.
“No.” You wanted to say what happened, to get it out of your mind, but you didn’t want to tell him about how you saw his still body covered in blood with his stomach in shreds.
“No? That’s okay.”
You guys sat quietly listening to the traffic outside and Sam’s snores. After a while Dean assumed you had fallen asleep, but just as he shut his own eyes your little voice stirred him.
“D?”
“Mm, yeah (Y/N)?’
“Are monsters real?”
~Present~
Dean watched you hang your head again before scooting to the side and opening up his covers.
“Wanna talk about it kid?”
Even in your sad and scared state a genuine smile broke out across your face, it was small, but still genuine. Without responding to your brother you kicked off the soft blanket that you had fought Sam for and walked over to Dean’s bed. Since motel beds are always oddly tall you had to do a little jump to get onto it, shooting a quick glare at Dean for being clearly amused at your struggle. Tentatively Dean opened up his arms to you and you awkwardly shuffled in until your head hit his shoulder and you instantly melted. The both of you sat there without a word, wondering what the other was thinking, unaware that you were both thinking the same thing. You thought about how long it had been since you two laid like this, both of you becoming aware of how long it had really been since you showed each other affection and comfort, and how after all of these years you two felt so natural. Neither of you took into account how the other’s muscles softened, how the past few years of Azazel, the door to Hell, your dad’s death, Sam’s death, Dean’s death, demons, vampires, and vengeful spirits all released from your guys’ bodies. For the first time in months neither of you cared about Lucifer or Michael or any other dick with wings.
“Hey Dean.” You finally broke the near silence.
“Yeah?” Your ear being pressed to Dean’s chest made his voice sound deeper and you could feel his jaw move against the top of your head.
“Do you remember when I was super young and we were staying at that nice hotel in Seattle and I had that really bad nightmare?” You slipped the comforter under your brother’s arm so you could fidget with it.
“Yeah I do actually, but how the hell do you remember it? You were like what, six? So that means it was ten whole years ago.”
“I don’t think I would remember it if it wasn’t the start of the recurring nightmare I always have.” The first part was a lie. That night had been the first time you ever truly felt like you had a family, the first time you had felt comfort in your life. You could never forget that.
“Oh.” Dean began to play with your hair, taking three small pieces and trying to see if he could still remember how to braid, something he learned because you hated how John would always cut your hair.
“This dream,” you started, “it’s bad. It’s always the same house, this weird grey one with cracked floors and for some reason the walls are cement. It’s weird. But in the dream I can never find my way, it’s like a labyrinth and every time I get more and more lost the hallways get darker and darker. It always starts with me screaming for Sammy and he doesn’t respond, but I can hear him. I can hear him.”, Your voice begins to break, “I can hear him screaming no over and over again, like he’s getting attacked and then when I call out for him again he’s silent. So I’ll start running to find him, I guess I’ve always had a hunter's instinct. Then when I’m running around I trip and every time I trip I always get this feeling of fear about dad yelling at me for always being clumsy. But then when I. '' You stop, dropping your head and gaze so far down that all you can see is your own chest. Dean drops the chunk of hair he was twisting in his fingers and looks down at you.
“It’s okay.” He whispers, lightly squeezing your arm to ground you, something he always does when you’re upset.
His encouragement only made things worse as tears began to fall again. Closing your eyes you take a quick deep breath.
“When I look down to see what I tripped over it’s you. You’re dead. Bloody with your stomach all ripped up, I never see the monster, but it must be something with claws. Then it just ends there. Tonight was kind of different though. Our ages are always different in the dream. Sammy’s voice always sounds like it did when he was 16 so I don’t think he changes, but sometimes I’m a kid and you’re a teenager like when I first had it or we’re both teenagers or we’re the ages we are now or sometimes I’m a kid and you’re an adult. But tonight, tonight I was 16 like I am now and you were a little kid.”
~Flashback~
Dean didn’t know what to do, he felt like the deer that stopped in the headlights and actually got hit. He’d been through this before with Sam, but he had been older and wasn’t already upset when they had the conversation. He had felt guilty every time he lied to Sam about monsters and didn’t want to give you that same false hope, but he resented his dad for teaching him about monsters when he was this young.
“I’m not sure of anything, (Y/N).” It technically wasn’t a lie, while Dean was sure that monsters existed he wasn’t sure of what to tell you.
“Well actually no, I am sure of one thing. Nothing and I mean nothing, no man, no woman, no animal, and sure as hell no monsters will ever hurt you because you are strong and I will kick their butt if they even try.” Dean meant that fully, he’s meant that since the day his dad sat him and Sam down to tell them they have a little sibling.
“Pink promise?” You said looking up at Dean.
“Pink promise?” He pulled back and questioned you.
“A pink promise.” You huffed, freeing your arm out from under Dean’s and extending your pinky finger.
“Oohh, a pinky promise.” Dean held up his arm and extended his own pinky.
“No, it’s pink promise.” You pulled your hand back.
“Ok, I pink promise that nothing will ever hurt you.” And to that you guys joined pinkies.
~Present~
You begin to quietly sob into your brother’s chest. Dean put his hand at the nape of your neck and put his cheek on the top of your head and let you cry it out, as you calmed down he pulled back and kissed your forehead.
“Hey look, peanut. Sammy and I are not going anywhere, we will always be with you, ok. A lot is going on right now and it will all be okay, we’ve gotten out of so many situations that we shouldn’t have and this one will be no different. I pink promise.” Dean raised up his arm and extended his pinky.
“Oh fuck off.” You lightly hit his hand.
Unfazed Dean kept his hand up and smugly smiled down at you. You sigh and extend your own pinky. As your fingers wrapped around each other your annoyed façade broke, your smile was joined by a few tears.
“Pink promise.”
A/N: So hey, your local forest wench here. This is definitely different from other stuff I post. I’ve never written a fanfiction before(so basically sorry if it’s not too good and please be patient with me), but I do read a lot of of it and maladaptive daydream a lot so I always have plenty of ideas. I came up with this idea this morning and really liked it, thought that maybe other people would like it and that it would be kind of greedy to keep it to myself. I’m actually really insanely proud of this ngl. If people like this and I feel comfortable, I might even write some more in the future.
@supernerdycookietrashblr Requested: I was wondering if you willing /comfortable to write this a Winchester brothers x sister reader where the reader is depressed harms themselves and feels like she not good enough and is a drug addict like does weed and other drugs drinks to relieve her pain and her brothers found out and are not happy it and the reader just not having it and doesn't want help and can't handle being lectured about her brothers so she runs away and overdoses and her brothers find her but in the end her brothers help her in recovery and it fluffy in the end
And can the reader age around 16-19 is up too you i hope this is ok for u if not I can change it
Age 16:
"You did well out there, kid." dean spoke from in front of me.
"We're proud of you." I felt Sam put his hand on my shoulder.
"Yay!" I squeak out with a wide smile prominent on my face. I got into the back of the impala, Dean in the driver's seat and Sam in the passenger. I rest my head on the head of the seat next to me and let the all to the familiar rumble of the Impala consume me.
I have been living with Sam and Dean for about 3 years. they saved me from a werewolf attack in an alley, and once they found out that I didn't have a home anymore they took me in.
I close my eyes, remembering the lies they just told me. I couldn't ever believe them because they always lie. 'we're proud of you.' what a load of crap. I did nothing but mess up the entire hunt and they have the guts to lie to my face like that?
Age 17:
My legs tread along the sidewalk, my knees barely bending from the cuts on them. my bag seems much heavier now and my legs are like lead. I flip my hood up as I walk into a gas station, leaving my bag outside. I walk over to the alcohol section and grab some bottles of the cheap whiskey that dean gets. I put the bottles of whiskey on the counter and take out my wallet.
"ID.," the cashier says in a monotone voice. I look up and show him the fake ID that Dean made so I could get better access to places during hunts. the man put the bottles in a brown paper bag before handing the items back to me.
I snatched the bag and quickly made my way out the door. I grabbed my bag and rushed off home. Sam and Dean are out on a hunt that I couldn't go on because I had finals. I make my way to my room in the bunker and drop my bag on the bed that I now only lay awake on.
I rummage through the bottom drawer of my dresser, though the pairs of pants are a small little box that holds probably the biggest secret of my life. I take the box and liquor with me as I make my way out of the bunker and into the woods until I hit a clearing where a cliff is.
my legs hang off the edge as I set my items down. I open the box and take out my little white roll of happiness. I light it with my black lighter and breathe it in. I sit there for about 10 minutes repeating the action before I one of the bottles I bought earlier.
I take a swing and feel the sting of the drink in my throat. I bring the joint back up to my mouth. It's been about two hours since I have come to the cliff. since then the sun has set and my vision has gone hazy.
~~~~~3 months later~~~~~
"Are you ok kid? we never see you around anymore." Dean sits in front of me at a nearby diner.
"Yup. I just haven't been getting a whole lot of sleep and the stress from school isn't making it easier." I rub the back of my neck. a forced awkward smile painted on my lips.
"Well if you ever need to talk about it we're here for you, y'know." Sam, who is sitting next to me, gives me a one-armed smile. the contact almost breaks me down, but I hold the tears for my room.
I just have to keep reminding myself that I don't mean that much to them as they do to me.
~~~~~2 months later~~~~~
"Drugs?!" Dean shouts I rub the temples of my head, the headache only getting worse with all of the yelling.
"Dean." Sam's voice came from a corner of the room.
"Of all of the things to do you chose drugs!"
"Can you stop yelling," I whispered out.
"Dean." Sam's voice came sterner. Dean, having finally taken notice, looked over at the giant in the corner of the room holding an empty bottle of whiskey. a heavy sigh escapes Dean's lips.
"You made a lot of stupid decisions."
"You think she doesn't know that?" Sam forcefully chuckled at the end. "We need to talk, don't go anywhere."
"Not that she can look at her, she can't even talk." the door clicks close. I let out a breath of air that I didn't realize I was holding. I looked up to see the items taken away. I knew this day was going to be coming soon so I made a stash.
I quickly stuffed what I knew id need for the next couple of days in a bag while ignoring the pounding in my head. I slipped out of my room and ran out of the garage. I ran into the woods and to the cliff.
once there I quickly drank a bottle of beer that I got the other day. I broke the bottle and grabbed one of the shards. if I wanted this plan to work I'd have to think fast. I tightly gripped the shard in my hand and carved a sigil in my forearm. I knew that once Sam and Dean saw that I wasn't in my room anymore they would try and get Cass to look for me. I wanted to be alone for the next few days.
I practically crank myself to death's doorstep, hours upon hours of smoking and drinking.
Age 18:
I sit at the table in the library working on a school project for AP Bio. to be honest I don't even want to be in any AP classes but ill take any college credits I can take.
"What's this?" I hear Dean's gruff voice fill the room. I look up to see him picking up my glass from the table.
"My juice?" I responded questionably.
"Apple, nice." he set it down i little bit embarrassed.
"You thought it was beer didn't you?" I saw even more blood rise to his cheeks.
"Maybe." he looked away.
"Dean you have to trust her a bit more than that," Sam spoke up.
"I know, but I don't want her to get hurt again."
"Dean, I went through that rehab hell for months, there is no way I'm going back." I chuckled out a bit.
"I know I'm sorry." he draped his arms around my shoulders, his chin resting on my head.
"You know we love you right?"
"Of course I do." I looked back down at my work,
"Good." he planted a kiss on the top of my head before, "Don't ever do anything stupid like that ever again, got it, kid?"
"Yes sir!" I smiled over my shoulder at him.
"Idiot." he playfully pushed my head down. I continued my work, wanting nothing more than to make them proud of me again.
"All I'm saying Dean, is if you're going to have sex in the room, at least let us know before hand." Sam grumbled, glaring at our older brother as they finished packing up the Impala before getting in the car.
"You're just annoyed you're not getting any Sammy," Dean chuckled, brushing off our brother and sliding in the front seat before starting the car.
"No Dean, I'm annoyed that now we're out of seventy bucks cause Leah and I had to get another room for the night." Sam snapped, referring to me and I glanced up from the backseat, trying to ignore this conversation.
"Yeah whatever," Dean rolled his eyes. "Next time either you or Leah can grab a piece of ass."
I shifted uncomfortably in the backseat at the mention of myself having sex and my brother speaking about me in that manner and shove headphones into my ears, escaping this conversation by drowning out my brothers bickering.
The bickering between my older brothers however continues until we reach Illinois and pull into a roadside diner that claims to have the "best milkshakes in the USA". The three of us slide into a booth and pick up the slightly sticky menus, flipping through them quickly before deciding what we wanted to eat. A twenty-something year old waitress comes up to our table, quickly taking our orders not before batting her eyes and bird like false eyelashes at Sam and then walking away, swaying her hips lightly.
Dean nods his head before the waitress and nudges Sam who was sitting beside me, "Look Sammy, that could be your piece of ass."
"Shut up Dean," Sam says through gritted teeth as the waitress comes back and I focus my attention to my strawberry milkshake, wishing that my brothers would drop their bickering and just talk about anything else.
"What about you Leah?" Dean says, nudging my foot with his, making me look up from my milkshake. "Could that be your piece of ass?"
He nods his head towards a bus boy who was around my age who was clearing dishes away from a table not far from ours. He was fairly attractive but the thought of having sex with him or with anyone made my stomach churn.
"That's not funny Dean," I mutter and grab my milkshake, clenching my jaw.
"If you need tips you just gotta ask, I'm sure-" Dean begins, making me slam my milkshake cup down on the table and leave the booth quickly, practically running out of the diner and back out to the Impala where I sink to the pavement of the parking lot, leaning against the back wheel of the car.
Sure the bus boy was attractive, his wavy brown hair hung in his green eyes and his sharp jawline could probably cut paper and the way his tattoos creeped out from under his shirt sleeve intrigued me but I'd be damned if I ever wanted to see him naked or in any sexual context. Was that even normal for someone my age? I knew other girls who had sex all the time, had sex with different people every other week or had sex with their partner almost every day and I mean good for them but that couldn't be enjoyable could it? It certainly didn't seem enjoyable to me.
My thoughts were spiraling as Sam approached me from the diner, sitting on the pavement as well, leaning against the front wheel and looking at me.
"He didn't mean it, he was just teasing-" Sam tried to start saying before I interrupted him.
"I don't want to have sex." I blurt out, looking at him with big eyes. "Like ever, with anyone."
Sam looked at me for a moment quietly, I could tell the wheels in his brain were turning as I continued to babble. "I think I might be broken... I just have no connection to it."
Sam nodded, and spoke quietly, considering his words before he spoke. "How do you feel when you think about sex or having sex?"
"I don't feel anything, I have no connection to it." I say, my words rushed. "It's like I'm surrounded by a feast with everything I could ever want to eat but I'm not hungry."
Sam nodded again, understanding what I was saying. "Do you know what asexuality is?"
I shake my head, I had never heard the term before. Sam let out a small breath, "It's when someone has no sexual attraction to any sex or gender."
I nodded, the term starting to make some sense to me as Sam continues, "Sex just doesn't do it for some people."
"But I still want to fall in love," I admit. "Like- like how you and Jess did."
Sam smiled lightly, thinking back to his girlfriend Jess, "Well some people still want the romantic relationships but they don't want the sex bit and others don't want either."
"So I'm not weird or it's not wrong to feel like this?" I ask quietly, looking down at my shoes.
"You know sexuality is fluid right?" Sam asks and I nod, looking back up at him. "Sex doesn't make us whole so how could you ever be broken?"
"I guess that makes sense," I nod, taking in the words he said.
We are quiet for a moment, listening to the traffic pass by the diner before I look up at him again. "I think I'm asexual."
"Okay," Sam smiles lightly. "Thank you for telling me. I'm proud of you, I know it's not always easy to say things like this."
"I don't want to tell Dean." I say quickly, slightly worried that he may think it's weird not to want to have any sexual attraction to anyone.
"I'll handle him, don't worry about it." He says and I breathe a sigh of relief.
"Thank you Sam," I smile.
"Anytime kid."
THE GIRL WHO SHOULDN’T EXIST --> Emily & Chuck Shurley | God
“God or not, you come near me or my family, I will END you. I’ll find a way, I swear.”
“Aw, Em, did I really mean so little to you?”
“Don’t. Nothing about it - us - was real; you said it yourself.”
“Did I? Funny, I don’t recall ever writing your story. That’s why you’ve always been so...fascinating to me. I wanted a wild card this time and you certainly didn’t disappoint. So everything you have ever done? That was all, one hundred percent you. I just controlled everyone and everything else.”
