I appreciate any reaching out!
How to Fix PC Errors in Windows
Another VirtualBox Tutorial
Hello, everybody: it is everything he Pan here and we are back with another VirtualBox tutorial. Today we are doing a tutorial on how to install windows 7 in VirtualBox. Now this is an updated tutorial from one that I've done previously and it has been a long time and plus the audio and that one kind of sounded a little bit funky. I was a little too close to the mic. I was getting used to a new mic at the time, and this, hopefully, should be better for you guys so well we're just gon na go ahead and get straight into it. So all the links will be in the description for VirtualBox for also a link on how to get a Windows. 7. Iso.
If you have a valid product key, I cannot give any iso's to you because of Microsoft's terms, and I wish I could, but I can't do that. That is highly against their Terms and I do not want to be in trouble and be liable for that. So there will be a link in the description for anyone that has a valid product key that needs an ISO for Windows 7 to get it and I'm sure you can probably Google search and maybe find an ISO for yourself somewhere, but I physically cannot give any Iso'S out so we're gon na go ahead and open up VirtualBox if you have it installed already, if not like. I said the link is in the description for that for you to install and we're gon na go ahead and create a new virtual machine. Your screen may not look like this with all these machines in it. It'S just that I have virtual machines already pre-made in this and what we're gon na go ahead and do is I'm gon na call mine Windows? 7?
Ultimate, you can call this whatever you want. You can call it Windows 7, you can call it. You know, based on the Edition that you're installing, but I'm just gon na call it Windows 7 Ultimate and we're gon na leave the one at Windows. 7. 64 bit. You can change it to 32-bit. If you are installing the 32-bit version, but we're going to be installing 64-bit in this video, we're gon na go ahead and click Next, we're going to give the amount of RAM that you'd like to recommend it. It'S two gigs, I'm gon na apply into four gigs since I have 16 gigs total and then we'll click next and it's gon na ask to create a virtual hard disk, we're gon na click, create and we're gon na leave it at the default of VDI.
I don't think it really matters which one of these that you pick could be that you could just use one of these like for VMware, if possible or any other virtualization program. If you choose like virtual hard disk or a VMDK, we're just gon na leave it a VDI since we're doing VirtualBox for the specific tutorial we're gon na click. Next, we're gon na leave it at dynamically allocated so that it does not take up the full 32 gigabytes of default storage that it's going to ask for, and it will take up based on how much you use we're gon na go ahead and click Next and, Like I said the default, it gives us 32 gigs we're just gon na leave it at that default and click create, and here is the machine, and what we're gon na do now is we're gon na click settings either by going up here and clicking settings or Right clicking on the machine and clicking settings and we're gon na hit the storage tab here on the left side.
We'Re gon na hit this little empty disk here where the CD drive is and we're going to hit this little disc right here and we're gon na go ahead and choose from a file and you're gon na want to go ahead and locate the ISO file that You have in your directory, mine, is saved in a Windows, 7 directory and we're going to go ahead and open it up. As you can see, I have a you know: all-in-one disc, I'm sure you can find one of those online somewhere. I'M just I'm not able to provide that myself for you. I wish I could, but I cannot so we're gon na go ahead and click open and then once that is in there we can go ahead and click OK and then we can go ahead and click start to start the virtual machine and it's going to open Up a window here with VirtualBox and the machine and it's going to say, Windows is loading files and then it's going to start Windows here.
So this will take just a second and while waiting to load. If you have a windows, 7 installation disk like a physical disk itself, you can use that as well in this tutorial. If you put it in your disk drive and instead of browsing for an ISO, you would click your host drive and in this case the drive letter is F for me. But you would click your host drive and it would automatically boot from your DVD drive to your windows. 7 installation disk. If you do not have an ISO, so that is another method that you could use. So here we are in the installation screen we're gon na. Go ahead and click Next after you select your language and keyboard layout, specify that for your own needs and we're gon na go ahead and click install now and then it's going to say, setup is starting, which will take just a little bit to kind of think Here and then, since I have the all-in-one Edition, it gives me all the editions here, you may not have this screen and if you do, you go ahead and select the Edition that you want.
I'M gon na go ahead and select a windows, 7 ultimate service pack. 1, x64 and click Next and then most of you guys will get to this screen right away, which is just the software license terms: we're going to go ahead and accept these terms and click Next and then it's going to ask what kind of installation do you Want to do, we obviously cannot do the upgrade, because there is no Windows installation on this machine and it would require having us have Vista or XP, for example, installed and upgrading from one of those operating systems I could do is I could do that in a Future video, if you guys, would like to see the process of upgrading from one operating system to another. Let me know in the comments below, if you want to see that well for now we're gon na click, the custom advanced installation which will install a clean copy of Windows, and the only drive here is that 32 gig virtual hard disk that we created so we're Gon na go ahead and select that and click Next and then now it is going to go through the process of installing windows. 7.
So it'll go through the process of copying Windows files. First then, we'll expand Windows files. This is usually the part that takes the longest and then it will go quickly through the installing features and installing updates, and then this will restart, I believe twice. If I remember correctly so I will let this run here for a little bit and I will bring it back to you guys once we hit the first restart screen. So here we are, we have hit the first reboot screen and it will automatically reboot and you do not have to press any key or anything like that to boot from the CD or DVD. It will automatically continue this setup. I believe you could remove the disc by now, but we're gon na leave it in just in case. It needs it for some reason so and as they set up as updating registry settings, and then it should come back up with that screen.
That says, completing installation and your screen may like flash during and it's gon na say setup starting services and then it's gon na come back up with that screen, and I don't know if the resolution will change at all. It may stay the way. It is right. Now, but it's gon na go back to the completing installation, part and you'll see that the bar down here does move a little bit so I'll leave my cursor right. There kind of to show you right now: it's it's right there and it's gon na. I mean it could eventually move on this completing installation stage and after this part is finished, it's going to restart one more time and it will bring you to the part of the screen where you actually start entering in some information and confirming some settings. So this part could take a little bit of time as well, not as long as the expanding windows files part, but it could take some time for it to complete. So that's kind of just got a you know.
I got to let this sit and do its thing. You saw the screen flash a little bit there and it's just going to sit here and do some final things before it restarts for the final time. So again just go ahead and let this sit and it will eventually reboot and I will bring it back as you can see the bar just moved. I did not move my cursor and the bar moved on the bottom, so you can tell it's already starting to kind of finish up and we'll hit it with the next reboot here on this setup and that's what I will come back with you when that part Comes up so it's going to come up with a screen here that says setup will continue after restarting your computer and then it's going to reboot and once again you do not have to press any key to boot from the CD or DVD.
It will automatically boot to the hard drive after that and we'll say starting Windows, it'll load up the boot screen here, and then it will pop up with something on the bottom. That will check some certain things before you go ahead and set it up for the first time. So, as you can see that says, it's gon na prepare the reader for first use, check video performance and check some other things as well in between and once it checks the video performance it will pop up with this screen. That will ask for you to choose a username and a computer name, so we're gon na go ahead and I'm gon na type, just whoops type e pan as the username you could type whatever username you want and you can name whatever you want for the PC. You could leave it just as the standard name that comes up after you type in your username. It would be e pan PC for me, or just I'm gon na define it, because I have a ton of machines. Check windows error here.
So I'm gon na call windows, 7 ultimate and we'll click Next and then it's going to ask for a password if you do not want to type one in just because you're on a virtual machine. You really don't need to type one in that unless you are using it for a specific purpose. If you do not want to type in a password, you go ahead and just click Next to skip it. It'S gon na ask for a product key. You do not need to enter one in, so you can go ahead and skip that. There'S really no need to enter in a product key, since this is a virtual machine and you were not using this as a main machine. So there really is no reason to activate it and it's gon na come up with this screen here for the updates. You can choose any of these options here. I'M just gon na use the recommended settings and it'll continue.
It'S gon na ask for the date and time so I'm gon na go to just leave it at the default timezone. I'M not gon na choose whichever one I'm in but choose your specific time zone and the date should be correct as well as the time you just would have to change your time zone so go ahead and click Next, it's gon na ask for the kind of Network that you're on more than likely, you will be on a home network, but if you're doing this in an office for some reason you would do that work Network or, if you're doing it somewhere public public network, I'm gon na go ahead and click home network. Since I am at my home and I'll say connecting to your network in applying settings which will not take long at all and then after that part is finished, it will proceed to the next screen. That says, Windows is finalizing your settings and then after it does that for a brief moment, it will turn to a blank screen and it will get viewed to the log on here. It'Ll say welcome and then it will say, preparing your desktop.
You can see. It'Ll say the edition of Windows you have on the bottom confirming and that I have Windows 7 Ultimate installed and after it does the preparing your desktop for a little bit here. It will eventually it doesn't take too long. It usually doesn't take too long, prairie desktop. It will eventually pop up here with your desktop and, like I said this could take a little bit of time just depending on how fast it wants to work, and after a little bit, it will eventually, hopefully, maybe today, pop up with the desktop there. We go. So you can kind of fiddle around with your settings in here a little bit. If you want to or do anything you want with the virtual machine now and there, you can go and check out your system, specs and I'll obviously say that you need to activate Windows because we do not have a product he entered in now.
If you want bigger resolution or anything like that, they have different options available, but if you want it to do it automatically, and if you want some other things included in this, a good thing to do would be to install the VirtualBox guest additions. So you do that by going up to the Machine Devices up here and then clicking insert guest additions, CD image and then once you click that sometimes it will come up right away by itself. If it doesn't come up right away, you go to Windows, Explorer, go to computer and then right, click on this and click open or when not open. Very, I guess, yeah double click on it and do windows, guest or VirtualBox guest additions or Windows additions by mistake. Close out of this it'll come up with the setup screen here for the guest additions, setup, wizard, click Next and then leave the default, save location, click Next and then I've never really done direct3d support very much.
So I never really selected. I kind of just leave it as it is, and click install and it's going to go through the process of installing VirtualBox guest additions. And then, if this window pops up go ahead and always trust software from Oracle Corporation and click install and then it will continue going through the installation process here and then once this part is finished, it should ask you to reboot here. So I'll do some more things here and I will go ahead and pause this before we get to the reboots, and so once it is finished it will come up with the completing VirtualBox guest additions, setup wizard, it's gon na! Ask you to reboot. Now you will go ahead and click finish to dude, as it says and reboot now so it'll automatically reboot.
You do not have to do anything after that. It'Ll shut er down and then after it shuts down, and it will go ahead and reboot itself and now, if you don't do the guest additions installation, you can remove the installation disk and you can remove now the guest additions disk as well. So now it will pop up with the logon screen here in just a moment should log you in automatically. If you do not have the password, if you do have a password, it will ask you to enter it in then, once we login it will change your Lucian automatically, and if you want to go to fullscreen, it will automatically adjust it so that it fits your Screen if I were to go to the screen resolution right here, it will show me that a my monitor is a 1920 by 1080 monitor and if I were to go back into the normal mewing mode like this, it should have a little bit of an adjusted Resolution 1920 by a 975, it will automatically adjust your resolution for you since that's what the purpose of this is for and will also install some other drivers.
