The most of the Asian users have habituated with the Microsoft based operating system, but they know very little about the background processes of the operating system. It is precise to make the windows perform faster if the user knows how it works.
However, there are some user's friendly readymade software applications, which can help a lay user, and we for windows tweaks can use it. However, one can use some common processes to keep the machine faster for long span, which are not so hard. Initially, we have to right click on Recycle Bin. Later click the 'empty recycle bin' button from the drop down menu. It makes your deleted files remove permanently, so be confirm before doing so.
Secondly, for windows tweaks, one has to unfold My Computer folder or better to say the icon. Then, go to the main drive containing the operating system. Having Double click Documents and Settings there and then the 'Recent' folder. Opening the folder and delete all files with all the contents inside the folder. For general information, we have to maintain in mind that by default the windows keep these folders hidden. Therefore, before going to this folder we have to check the 'show hidden files along with folders' to see those folders.
Now, again go to the destination following the path, C:/Documents and Settings/Local Settings/Temp. One might find several files and folders with different names here and can think important files. Nevertheless, all these are mostly useless for the entire lay computer operator. So, just double click the folder to go inside it, and simply select all the files along with folders for deleting them. If application is executing, then some concerning files or folders one may not be able to delete.
Now, one has to go pass the path Start/All programs/Accessories/System Tools to find out the Disk Defragment option there and then click it. A window box will open showing the partitions within hard disks with there details. Select one of your Hard Disk Drive and click Defrag button from the below and in this process complete all the hard disk drives one after one. Now on double clicking the My Computer and there on right clicking on any hard disk need to select 'properties'. From the new window, click 'Tools' and then 'Check Now' and check both the boxes there and click Start button below. Only the main hard disk containing the os will not start checking immediately, but you have to restart the computer. One ought to keep reboot in mind, if you press any key, the disk checking will be terminate to restart the checking process in the previous system.
There are some other settings, one can change for windows tweaks, but those are quite harder for the lay users. It includes the visual settings, some hard disk sharing settings or on the other term virtual memory, or simply disabling the background processes, like the screen saver etc that sometimes makes the computer slower. There are some registry settings making the performance super fast.
