And no need to worry about my safety, worry about yours. Please.” She says with a soft tone and a small smile that tugged at her lips. Mileena could handle a lot psychically; just never got the chance to really prove it.

Her ankles uncrossed so she could stand up properly on her two feet, “I’m not exactly sure who you have crossed paths with and who you have talked recklessly to in the past and got away with it, but just as easily as I let you in, I can just as easily force you out. So, I advise you to watch your mouth.” Her jaw was clenched and her gaze was hard - it wasn’t so much about what she said, but it was the tone she used to say it. Hands gently swayed by her sides as she brushed passed her and exit the office without another word.

     Now, THIS was a sight for the half breed to behold. Part of her felt as if she should ask what happened, but Mileena was just happy she wasn’t dead due to whatever unfortunate mishap. “I told you there’s a price that comes with knowing me.” She speaks calmly before calmly and rather nonchalantly walking past her to disappear into the near bathroom. The sound of a sink water running could be heard before being cut off a few seconds afterward. Soon enough the soft sound of her black heels could be heard on the polish hardwood floors. In her right hand was a black, damp rag. With a gentle sigh, she stood in front of her and offered out her free hand patiently waiting for her to take it, instead she just tugged her forward and brought her fingertips an inch away from her red painted lip. Brown hues look between Valeera’s bright gaze before falling on her bloodstained fingers. Red lips parted and she rests her middle finger on the palette of her tongue before enclosing her lips around the single digit. Her eyes flutter closed as a sight began to rush within the depths of her mind. The low sound of a deep growl could be heard as she witnessed the great rise and fall of someone unknown to her, their blood not only staining Valeera’s hands but the palette of Mileena’s tongue as well. Her eyes slowly flutter open as the vision came to its end. She slowly pulls the digit from her fingers and proceeded with licking the tips of her fingers, that damned beast side of her enjoying the sweet taste. After taking her pointer and middle finger deep within her lips, gently sucking on them she slowly withdrew them from her lips and cleared her throat.

        “Tell no one of this day–” She speaks low and calmly. Almost like she felt shameful for what she had just done. She quickly began to use the cool and damp rag to wipe the blood from her fingers before pausing to make eye contact with her, “Understood?”

she’s right (of course she is) and he understands her meaning, but something in him protests. her words settling restlessly on his mind. he misses a home that never felt quite like home; a family that he never truly belonged to. he misses a peace that he’s never known– that he may never know, taking the looming, and seemingly unstoppable, threat of the dread into consideration. he misses his faith in the knight order; in their gallantry and chivalry that they had corrupted and poisoned centuries before he ever joined their ranks; his faith that joining the order could give his small life some meaning– before he learned that his title made him little more than a sword. a tool to carry out the orders of men too feeble, gluttonous, or cowardly to carry them out themselves. though, maybe ‘missing’ them is the wrong word… “perhaps that’s true, but you can long for it, can’t you?”

without hesitation he would make a scene for those he cares for. he has on some occasions. he has fought knights who have slandered his brother’s name, among other examples that he wouldn’t care to list off. it isn’t that he’s ashamed of it, but it isn’t something he tends to boast. he has tried not to be the stupid, brash boy his father always said he was, but he can’t help it, sometimes.

euphraxia is a formidable woman. she has lost almost everything important to her and has remained standing. her mother, her son, her father. one after the other, wearing away at her heart, at her soul. if dima were to die, her world would turn to dust around her. if she were to outlive dima, if he somehow died without taking her with him, it wouldn’t feel like she survived at all. beyond being all she has left of family in this world, he is another part of her, an extension of her soul. she could not bear the agony his death would bring.
