Pale peach in the glass. Cucumber and hibiscus on the nose, plus a hint of lemon. Rich burst of flavors on the first sip: more lemon, then cantaloupe followed by pastry. The acidity is perfectly balanced against the sweetness. A flourish of pink grapefruit to finish. This rosé will make a fine spring and summer companion, whether alone or with light appetizers. It's an especially good bottle for good friends. Name: 2015 Kiralyudvar Tokaji Furmint Sec _________ My rating: 91 _________ My price: From my dad’s cellar. _________ I’m familiar with the famous desert wines from Hungary, but this dry version is a first for me. Surprisingly muted nose, but on the palate this has a buttery richness up front, but balanced by a nice crisp acidity, apples, mineral notes, hints of tropical fruit.
