So hummingbirds get super aggressive and territorial when they go through puberty. Imagine hummingbird Hiro dealing with that. He would pick ALL THE FIGHTS. (Also what if he had clawnails. Just little tiny claws. ) He's got just the tiniest little bit of his adult patterning and he's already like FIGHT ME to pretty much everyone who is not a friend.
AU of an AU: Hummingbird Hiro but winged people are on the top and flightlesses are on the bottom instead of the other way around. Hummingbirds, swans, and geese have reputations. Hiro gets a lot of scared looks from wingless people, but he's not quite sure why. And then puberty hits him and he suddenly wants to fight everyone who isn't a friend or a family member. It terrifies him.
Hiro has the teeniest claws heeee. And he’ll kick your ass, he’ll kick their ass, he’ll kick his OWN ass. FIGHT ME.
Thus Tadashi reveals one of the many protocols he’s programmed into Baymax. He knew about what would happen to Hiro once he hit puberty, and so he planned accordingly. Baymax has a protocol for when Hiro gets aggressive that basically boils down to “pick Hiro up and hug him so he can’t get free until he’s calmed down”. It is surprisingly effective.
Hiro still picks fights though, when Baymax isn’t around. That’s when GoGo and Fred, two other winged people, have to intervene because they’re the only ones who can fly after him if he tries to escape.
