"It should have been me" Ragatha said, like I wouldn't have dropped the show immediately if something had happened to her. And don't get me started on Ribbit. Jax has done so many bad things that the longer I think about him the more I hate him and that probably wasn't the intention for the rabbit

The way all the female or female presenting characters act about Jax is something so confusing to me.

Like, with Ragatha, we know she hates herself so her blaming herself for what happens, feeling responsible and saying it should have been her is in character but the way nobody checked on Jax before he abstracted is so weird, because if this is the version of Ragatha youre giving me then that is something she would do. And she would offer to join in with Pomni in trying to keep him under control or bring him back. Cause in ep 7 and 8 they were all about not letting him isolate and teaming all up together... just ooc for plot movement reasons.

Now about Ribbit and Pomni thats what confuses me. I watched the flashback bits, Ribbit gets attached to Jax quite quickly, brings him with them everywhere and makes Jax join in the friendship with Kaufmo (Ragatha is nowhere to be seen ofc even though shes supposedly around their age and the only other person there is Kinger and there are no hints that she has any issues or beef with anybody but yk). Right, so, there's nothing about "recently joined Jax" that makes me go ohh Ribbit likes him for a reason. The show tells you that he didn't laugh or smile at all until Ribbit managed to get him to. He wasn't opening up. Then in the scenes of their friendship, Jax simply doesn't come across as likeable even there, they're in Ribbit's room, things get deep, first thing Jax does is avoid the topic with some dialogue "you know i dont do deep stuff".

Ribbit is pouring her heart out and he's trying very hard to keep things superficial (though i have issues with the convo itself not being as deep as it wants to come across), thats how he was already treating them BEFORE he revealed his own vulnerabilities and started pushing Ribbit away, he was already all about not taking what's serious seriously and dismissing what Ribbit wanted to say.

There's nothing that they've showed me about Jax that makes me understand why all these characters get so affected by him or by not having him.

So he pushes Ribbit away, we get a whole long segment of Ribbit trying very hard to keep the friendship going only for her to get rejected time and time again. There's a big argument where Jax is ultra paranoid and accuses her of a lot of stuff when she brought up the topic of their friendship. But after all that it still takes a while for Ribbit to really abstract.

Ribbit abstracted because Jax pushed them away. Ribbit had friends, had Kaufmo and seemed to get along with Ragatha in that crumb of a second we saw. And there was nothing about Jax implying that he was a wonderful friend.

And yet, not having Jax was enough for her to get so depressed she abstracted. Which okay, could be a good depression isolation metaphor if you want to believe that

But then we go to Pomni. She knew Jax for a few weeks by ep 6. Everything she saw about Jax was him acting at his worst.

(Ragatha sort of implies in ep 5 that he didn't use to be this way, though thats funny cause even in the flashback he wasn't that much better, just tamer)

Early eps Pomni saw Jax as a bully and didn't like him much but only when he was bullying her specifically. by ep 5 she sees a "softer" side of him and starts finding him funny and by ep 6 she confronts him about not admitting that "he actually cares about her and they have a real deep friendship" (why. whyy. you dont know this person)

Pomni gets very affected by the whole i don't care about you thing that Jax says. She asks him if her abstraction would affect him. They don't know each other like that. But Jax is clearly not that inhumane. She probably reminds him of Ribbit. He says he wouldn't care but backtracks saying its a joke.

From then on, despite the confrontation, there is no Jax and Pomni tension. She's set on saving him, on being his savior. And Jax portrays her in his mind as an exaggerated version of that.

Pomni's final and only role is putting all of her effort in trying to save Jax, that's what shes there for, that's what she's become. She cries for him. Ragatha cries for him. Gangle cries.

And though i do like Jax or the concept and potential of how he could've been; all these characters (unless they're all desperate to not be alone and blame themselves for everything like Ragatha does) loving him like that make no sense to me

Wait, there's bunnydoll fuel in the finale??? I thought ragatha lore dumping about jax would be everything we'd get so I didn't bother to go further... we didn't get jax thinking about ragatha in the last two episodes, I thought it was over ?

Something worth remembering is that me and my blog always find bunnydoll fuel in everything. Even in the previous episodes that people say we were starving from i still always found something so it is really up to people to decide wether i make sense or not lol. There's this scene where Pomni gets inside Jax's mind and there are different doors that lead to different scenarios, the very first door to be opened leads to a scene in Jax's imagination where Ragatha abstracted and he's touching her door

he's pretty much out of it and dissociated as hell. He's not okay at all but he's not saying anything.

And his imaginary version of Pomni (not the real one that got in) his imaginary version of Pomni says stuff about how she knows he must be going through a very hard time and that he will always have her to talk to and that she will always be there for him and that he needs her to fix him. He basically portrays Pomni in his mind as this person desperate to fix him whos trying to take advantage of his vulnerability and grief after imaginary Ragatha is gone. Thats when he gets violent with fake Pomni out of nowhere, he's still saying nothing while he does that, but very uncomfy scene.

Other people are saying that the door with a marked Ragatha means that in his mind she's dead to him, and it could be, but she's not the only character whose abstraction scenarios Jax has in his mind, in other doors he imagined what would happen if others were gone too, but only Ragatha got this reaction.

And that's it. then you gotta push through a lot of stuff that is... indeed something. (though not bunnydoll related)

People don’t give Ragatha enough credit. She’s honestly one of the strongest and most tragic characters in TADC. At least Kinger can dissociate and forget his grief when he’s not in the dark. At least Jax wasn’t there the longest either. Ragatha remembers everything and was the second person to join within the cast. How she’s still here is insane. She’s OP but they aren’t ready to admit that yet

I was just thinking about the fact that the show touches on the theme of both Kinger losing his wife to abstraction and Jax losing his friends to abstraction. Yet all we know about Ragatha is her complicated human life and relationship with her mother. The show never touches on the fact that she has been in the circus for SO long, that she definitely had her own friends she lost to abstraction, that she cried in more than one funeral the way she did at Kaufmo's. That she has been there, done that, time and time again, and remains the most level headed one in between Kinger and Jax despite everything.

The show focuses a lot on her relationship with Pomni, which is cute. But are you telling me she doesn't get tortured with her own kind of grief?? That it doesn't even get mentioned that she had friends before her?? There is no way Jax is the only one affected by all that.

the brother and sister one is so tiring because they're so convinced that it's canon and that is a real thing based on one random thing the creator said when the pilot came out (that they're inspired by ann and andy, despite the creator later clarifying that all raggedy ann and andy references are just for self indulgence) and they will police you if you ship them and they will act like their HEADCANON is canon literally telling new people in the fandom that they're siblings and arguing with others that they are. (Despite the cast making jokes about those characters kissing more than once!)

I think by this point in the show if they were siblings there would have been signs or lines of dialogue that imply it at least, Ragatha would have mentioned having a younger brother back home or hinted at it. Anything.

TADC has never been that subtle with the backstory of the characters and we're just 2 episodes away from the ending yet people are very stubborn about that one

I find the discourse about the age gap just funny because the fandom has tried to portray Jax as this hot guy who's into everyone yet at the same time this little baby who can do no wrong when it comes to his relationship with Ragatha. Can't decide wether 22 is an adult or not, it changes depending who you're shipping him with.

Like I've said before, the age difference has never really affected their dynamic much beyond Jax just being immature (with everyone, because he's the youngest) but their bickering often put them on the same level

Rags and Zooble have the same age gap and you don't look at them and think that Ragatha has some sort power over Zooble because of it, much less with Jax.

We're talking about a 30 years old woman who was abused and raised to be a people pleaser, full of insecurities, who struggles to make friends and probably just did what she was told most of her life. Internalizing everything and keeping her stuck mentally in some aspect. She's not some sort of ceo whos flirting with her intern.

At worst their age gap only makes them have different perspectives of their doomed lives where the older one holds onto hope and the younger one holds onto negativity and cynicism. That's literally it. Nothing else their age gap adds than that

Ragatha is so funny because she clearly wants Jax to like her and him hating her affects her a lot, and there is a past version of him that she probably misses but she will NOT beg this man a thing (unless it's something that affects the others) and she will NOT fold, she will fight him, she will call him out. If she stays silent sometimes is to keep the peace between all.

She could love him deep down, she could care for him but she still doesn't trust him and expects him to have some trick up his sleeve which is justified

also sorry for making the post more deep than its supposed to be anon but i also find funny that people talk a lot about how Jax projects his feelings of frustration with her on others and never directly addresses them when Ragatha literally does the same😭if she confronts him is always in the name of the others and never directly admitting her own frustrations with him. Its always you did this and you did that to someone. Even during her crash out scene is not a direct accusation of him hurting her is about him hurting 'everyone'

and I think Jax knows that she is avoiding saying she dislikes him (unless shes drunk) and using her 'defensor of the weak' role to get those feelings out and he hates it and wants her to just straight up admits it's personal instead of being a faker. Hypocrite of him but this is Jax.

And maybe their relationship wouldn't be better if she does but he wold like her a world more and maybe he would be into it mid fight🙂‍↕️

Imagine him asking "whats your issue?" Playing up that i dont care and no big deal persona and she directly addresses him all mad like "you, youre my issue. I am frustrated about you! This is between me and you!"

I think I've talked about this before but after ep 5 i had this fic idea (half written, never finished) where basically Ragatha is glitching and keeping it a secret from everyone else and she knows she will abstract soon. At the time i was just headcanoning the idea of how abstraction would work. So yeah she's glitching and keeping her distance from the group after feeling excluded by Jax and Pomni and everyone (according to her) while still putting on a happy face and pretending to be alright. Thing goes like: by the next adventure she sort of knows is her last day at the circus so she spends it doing everything she wouldn't normally do which includes boldly asking Caine for gifts and favors and advantages during the adventure without feeling bad about it. Like a new dress, special items, help to win the games he set and everything. Caine has no problem spoiling and pampering her all day because honestly? It's unusual for her to do that so he doesn't mind and sees no issue. Jax is fuming not only because he can absolutely sense that something's wrong with her and it might have been his doing and confronting that she might be glitching is something he doesn't want to do. But also because seeing her be so "Caine this" "Caine that" does something to him
