Samara’s scream had drawn everybody’s attention in the ball room. Her husband was by her side in a second.
“The monster is free! And those ladies are in danger!” She said to Codatorta who came to see what was happening.
“Where is my daughter?” Asked Diaspro’s mother.
“Down there, with the monster!” Explained the queen.
Everybody froze, expect for Codatorta.
“Let’s go boys! We need to catch the dragon and protect the princess!”
Down there, Bloom had been thrown back by the dragon’s tale. She was felling dizzy and her head hurt. When she was able to see correctly, she saw Sky running in the distance while Diaspro was left alone in front of the creature.
“What are you saying! I need to protect myself!”
“No! You are just going to anger it more!”
“I’m not scared of some monster!”
“Don’t do that!” screamed Bloom.
Too late, Diaspro targeted the creature, drowning its attention. In a second, the princess was trapped between its claws. Bloom did not wait to transform when she saw that the dragon was about to breath fire at the specialists coming towards them.
She placed herself in front of the dragon and built a fire shield, blocking the fire away from the specialists.
“Bloom! Are you okay?!” Asked Sky.
“Yes! You guys need to catch it before Diaspro gets injured!!”
“You heard her guys! Get the ropes!” Ordered Sky to the other specialists.
“What happened?” Asked Brandon and Timmy.
“I don’t know! Seems like Diaspro shot the gate!”
“Why was she in her fairy form in the first place?!”
“Boys! It is not the time and not the place to asks questions! Move!” Screamed Codatorta. “Bloom is not going to hold the shield for much longer!”
Indeed, Bloom was feeling weaker by the second.
“Stella!” replied the fairy. “Hold back! We need to be careful or it could get angrier and injure Diaspro.”
“Let the guys handle things Bloom!” Said Musa.
“I can’t! If I stop, we are all going to burn.”
“But you are not going to resist much longer Bloom!” Added Tecna. “At this rate, you are the one who is going to get burn!”
“No! I can’t!” Bloom closed her eyes and focused on the creature. “I summon you! Dragon Flame!! Protect us!”
All of the sudden, a gigantic dragon came out of the sky, going straight down toward Bloom and surrounded her.
“Aghhhh!” The shield disappeared for a millisecond before Bloom aimed her dragon at the creature and pushed it back. “Get it now!”
All the specialists surrounded the creature and tried to attach it with ropes but that was pointless. The dragon got free within a second and started to flee away, Diaspro still trapped between its claws.
“Oh Merlin! What are we going to do?!” Asked Flora, panicked.
“Guys! The spaceship! NOW!” Ordered Sky.
He turned behind. Bloom was trying to land, but couldn’t, she was feeling really bad. Soon enough her friends helped her. Worry was eating him alive. He once again turned around and held his head high.
“Do not worry! I will bring your daughter back safely.”
Without further notice, he ran towards his team.
“Bloom, what are you doing?!” Asked Flora.
“I need to follow the beast.”
“No, the boys are tracking it, don’t worry.”She replied sweetly.
“You don’t understand. There is not enough time. Spaceships are in the basement! If I don’t follow the dragon, they are not going to be able to track it down!”
“You don’t need to do that Bloom!” Pointed out Stella. “It is way too dangerous! Let the guys handle this dragon. They know what they are doing.”
“They are not fast enough!!”
No matter what they were telling her, Bloom had already made up her mind. She was going to follow the creature to its nest!
“Bloom! NO!!” Screamed her friends.
Sky saw Bloom flying toward the monster. His heart jumped. He lost his balance and fell on a wall.
“No! No! For Merlin’s sake! Darn you and your want to help everyone Bloom!”
A few minutes later, Bloom managed to catch up with the dragon. She landed on its back, totally drawn out of energy.
“Oh no…. Diaspro is unconscious…” She said. “I hope she can breathe. Or maybe is it the heavy breeze. Sulphur makes it hard to breath.”
Finally, the dragon let go of its prey. The princess landed right in its nest, surrounded by baby dragons. Bloom joined her and held her up.
“Common! Wake up! We can’t stay here!”
She looked in the distance. No spaceship to be seen. She had been right; they couldn’t catch up with the beast.
“It doesn’t matter. We need to get moving, the dragon, might come back!” Explained Bloom. Suddenly, she transformed back into her ball grown. “No! I don’t have any magic energy left!”
“What are we going to do?”
“First, we need to hide! And fast! The dragon is coming back!”
“We will see! Can you walk?” Bloom asked.
They left the nest and started running on a cliff. Bloom was being careful. The specialists might not see them because of the rocks. She was eyeing the sky with attention.
“Why wouldn’t I save you?”
“I would have never saved you if it was me.” Admitted the princess.
“A fairy should always help out people. Always!”
“Even if she hates the person…”
“Personal vendettas are meaningless when a life is threatened.” Explained Bloom. “At the end of the day, if Sky likes you then there must be some good in you.”
“How can you act as if it had no matters at all?”
“Should it have more matter?”
“How- Aren’t you in love with him?!!” Asked Diaspro, chocked by Bloom’s maturity.
“I’m. But that does not change anything. Sky has a choice to make.”
Now, they were walking near lava. They were being careful. Talking would only distract them.
In the spaceship, the specialists and the Winx were trying to locate the two fairies, but nothing.
“They have to be here!” Screamed Stella.
“Maybe they managed to escape and hide?” Suggested Timmy.
“Or… No, I can’t even think about it.” Said Sky.
Diaspro was starting to panic when she notices they were being followed.
“Oh no!” she said. “We are being followed by camelions!!”
“Those are wild lions that are able to camouflage into rocks.
“What are we going to do?!”
“No! It’s too dangerous! We might fall in the lava!” said Bloom.
Bloom focused on her magic for a few seconds while Diaspro was trying to get away from the lions. Bloom was looking for a single trace of magic left out in her body to send a signal in the sky. By now, the spaceship should have been close by. She could feel her body burning. She felt dizzy once again.
And then, with a loud pop, a dragon flame sprinted into the sky and exploded loudly.
“OVER THERE !!” Screamed Stella. “It was Bloom’s dragon! It must be a signal!”
“You must be right, let’s go guys!” Said Brandon.
Down on the cliff, both girls were trapped by the lions. Bloom was hill and Diaspro scared to death.
“I don’t know Diaspro. I really don’t know…”
One of the lions was not having it anymore, it tried to jump on one of the girls, but the sudden sound of an engine scared it off.
“Finally!!” Chanted Diaspro.
“We still need to get away from those lions!” exclaimed Bloom.
“Diaspro! There is a bridge!”
The team was getting out of the spaceship while both fairies were running towards them, the lions right behind them.
“The are being hunted down!” said Musa.
“What should we do?!” panicked Flora.
“Common girls, just a few meters!” Scream Brandon. “Sky, we might get ready to fight those animals!”
“Of co-“ but he was cut off. The bridge was collapsing, making everyone gasp in horror.
He could not believe his eyes. They were both falling into lava.
“I’m coming!” He screamed when the two girls managed to get a hold on the cliff. “Wait, I’m here! I’m…”
Sky stopped right there, his face blank. Two sides. Two ways. Two choices… He could not help them both at the same time. He had to make a choice. Who should he help first? If he helped one, the other might fall from exhaustion. No… He could not choose.
Soon enough, his friends helped the two girls while both were sending him death glares. Bloom was mad because he was still confused and Diaspro because he did not choose her over Bloom.
That night, he did not say a word to any of the girls. He felt horrible, even more than before. When they dropped by at Red Fountain, both fairies where brought to the infirmary. Of course, Diaspro was surrounded by her parents and Sky’s parents. Bloom was sitting on a bed, looking down while her friends were trying to talk to her.
“You are sure you are okay Bloom?” Asked Flora. “You outdone your powers tonight. That shield was powerful.”
“Well, I hope now you understand Bloom!” Continued Stella. “I hope you understand that boys are not worth it!”
“Stella!” reprimanded the three other Winx.
“Are you insane?! His parents are just behind us!” Murmured Tecna;
“I dot not care! Bloom didn’t do anything wrong!” Replied Stella. “She was the one that took every risks because this stupid princess couldn-“ Musa had muffled the fairy with a hand.
“Bloom is going to be in trouble if you continue!”
“Plus, Bloom needs rest girls. Let’s go.” Added Flora. “We will be back tomorrow Bloom.
“I can go back to Alfea…”
“You heard the nurse, didn’t you?” Said Tecna. “You need to rest or else you going to fall on the ground.”
“Say that to your pale face and red eyes!” Replied Stella.
Behind the curtains, the parents were listening to the young fairies. Diaspro’s mother glare fell on Bloom. She felt hatred pouring out of her.
“And this is all her fault!” She said.
All the Winx stopped and looked at the blue haired woman. They were all frowning. Sky was walking in when he noticed the tense atmosphere. Bloom was looking sick while Diaspro looked tired.
“It is not her fault!” Replied Stella “Your daughter aimed at a wild dragon! She could have gotten us all killed!”
“Stella, stop now!” Asked Bloom.
“No! Enough is enough! First, he lies to you, then he put you on that difficult spot and now you have to bear this weird love triangle! What will happen next? You being the bridesmaid at their wedding?!”
“How dare you to-“ Started the King but was cut off.
“Don’t father. I’m sorry. Stella is right.” Said Sky. He walked toward Bloom. “You should not have done that. It wasn’t safe Bloom…”
“Are you really reproaching her that? BOY YOU WANNA DIE!” Screamed Stella while she was being held back by her friends.
“I’m sorry for everything I put you through. You deserve way better than an idiot like me. I can’t even protect you.”
“HUM-huhumhmhHUhhuhMMhum!!” hummed Stella through Musa’s hand.
“Would you stop Stella!” cried Musa.
Sky was waiting for Bloom do reply but she was just looking at him. Silence fell upon the room. Samara felt her inside twist. How could the night had turned out that way? Seeing her son so hurt and the fairy so done, she knew nothing good was going to happen in their relationship. Sky would have to chose on of them, and really soon. The fairy was not going to stick around for long.
