wip wednesday (current word count: 1,841)

this is an angsty soulmate au i'm working on. i'm just proud of how i wrote (about) ali (she will have a proper scene for the breakup)

yes i know i still have 4 wips i should work on, but i really want something angsty right now

also, yes, qpr ali with her soulmate. and yes, this will be buddie endgame.

Buck agreed to go on a date with Ali, the woman he and Eddie saved from a hotel during the earthquake. She was fun and reminded him of his first girlfriend. While she has the ability to write to her soulmate, she and her soulmate both agree they don't want a romantic relationship with each other. That Ali can date whomever she wishes.

Buck was okay with that. It's just like every other person he's ever dated. This time, though, she was honest about her soulmate. Honest that there was no chance Buck was hers.

So, whenever Ali was in L.A. the two of them would go on dates. They would have fun. She never called him a whore or a slut for not waiting for his soulmate. She called him bold, strong, kind, amazing. Buck knew he could fall in love with her.

2010

It was a sunny day when Eddie's world fell apart. The stories always claim it's going to be cloudy, there will be rain. The outside weather matching what they feel inside.

But, it was sunny. And Eddie didn't feel sunny at all. He knew his world was falling apart.

It all started when he was in high school.

Eddie had presented as an omega pretty early. He was 12 and the only one in his class who had presented. However, being a male omega in his world was not a good thing. So, his family hid it. He wasn't Eddie Diaz the omega. With the help of an underground doctor, he became Eddie Diaz the alpha.

When he started high school, he met her. Shannon. The only other person thier age who has presented as something other than beta.

While she introduced herself as an omega, Eddie could tell it was a lie. Despite that, they became fast friends. It was only after asking her to a school dance in senior year that he learned she was, in fact, an alpha. He told her the truth about himself then too.

2023 - Fall

It was a good day. Chimney and Maddie were hosting a party in celebration of them buying a house that day. Meanwhile, Maddies parents and Albert were going to be there in a few days for a family celebration.

Buck was the first to arrive, knocking at their door half an hour before lunch. When Maddie opened the door he held out a reusable bag with a grin.

"Guess who brought lunch!" He announced as he entered their house. He must have been told by Maddie that the house wasn't ready to live in because he didn't question how disheveled it was.

"If its not mac'n'cheese you're fired," Chimney joked as he entered the living room. Buck just turned to face Chimney with a sly smile.

"Well, I guess I'm not gonna be helping with dinner tonight," Buck joked right back. Maddie playfully slapped Buck's arm before grabbing the food.

2014 - Spring

Evan was driving by Texas when he decided to stop by a bar. He was on the way to sign up for the Navy SEALS.

At the bar he flirted with an alpha and ended up bringing him to his motel room. There they had fun.

Limbs tangled together, mouths pressed upon each other, breaths whispered with each other's names.

It was the best sex Buck has ever had. He was almost tempted to stay a little longer just so he could know the alpha better.

Only, in the morning, he woke up to an empty bed. On the nightstand was a note, more of a letter really. After reading the first few lines Evan threw it out.

The alpha was an asshole who was married with a kid.

Without a thought, Evan made sure the motel room was tidy and left. He needed to leave the city before he did anything else he regrets.

A couple months later, after training for the SEALS had begun, Evan learned he was pregnant. Unfortunately he knew the father could only be one person.

Vampires aren't immortal beings. They're born, they live, they die, just as all other living beings do.

However, the more powerful vampires can live centuries. That is where the myth of immortality came from.

Evan Buckley came from a line of powerful vampires. The most powerful family in the North-Eastern United States. His father fought in the American Revolution.

Buck, however, wasn't all that powerful. He had the lifespan of a powerful vampire, but the level of a turned vampire.

It was that reason he was not loved by his parents. The black sheep of the family. Kept out of the public eye.

As far as anybody was concerned, the Buckley Family only has one child. A daughter Maddie.

lmao. i just realized this week i wrote close to 5k words while last week i wrote about 9k words in less than a week. 💚🩶 are from last week and i wrote, like, 200 words total for them both this week while 🩵🖤 are from this week and one has like 4.3k words and the other has 500 words.

On the second day in the city he dropped by a diner and saw a young man, possibly even a teenager like himself, sitting alone, wallowing.

So, Evan sat next to him.

They talked and flirted. Eddie told Evan everything. It sounded like he needed somebody to have his back.

Evan vowed that whole he was in Texas he will be that somebody.

When he heard his girlfriend left because they thought he could be pregnant and she wasn't ready, he was ready to throw hands at somebody.

Being a sire would be amazing. Being a parent is any alphas dream. Evan told Eddie as much.

They ended up leaving together and Evan brought Eddie to his motel.

There Evan learned how good omegas can be. How loving having one, even temporarily, is. Evan promised Eddie that he'd stay around, knowing it was a rebound fuck. Maybe, just maybe, after being friends for a few months Eddie will learn just how good of an alpha Evan can be.

If not, being a friend is all that matters.

So, they talked. They became friends. Nobody questioned it because everyone in Eddie's life, bar his mother, thought he was an alpha. Evan was clearly an alpha also.

Almost a month later, after settling in on the construction job, Eddie was panicking at his doorstep. Letting Eddie in, Evan was surprise to learn what Eddie was telling.

Eddie was pregnant. He didn't know the sire. His parents would kill him for being an unwed pregnant omega.

It took Evan only a minute to wrap everything around his head. The answer was simple. They're friends, he could be the sire, the other potential sire is long gone. There was only one option.

"Marry me."

this is part of a prologue for a longfic im working on. i know buck is a little iffy here (hoping that eddie will like him if their friends long enough), but they're young (literally i think 18) and they will grow.

"So, what did you bring Buckaroo?" Chimney asked trying to peer into the bag. Before he could Maddie gripped it closed with a mischievous grin.

"I don't know yet. Why don't we all take a guess," Maddie suggested. Buck placed Jee down on her chair before grabbing the paper plates Chimney bought the previous day.

"That sounds fun. Person who's closest gets first dibs for dessert," Buck added. Jee perked up at the mention of dessert.

"Ice cream!" She shouted. Buck only smiled.

"Close. That's not a lunch food though. What do you think is for lunch?"

Chimney would call him out for giving Jee a second guess, but since his daughter is too cute sometimes he'll let it slide.

"Dino nuggets!" She shouted mimicking how she plays with them before eating.

"Unfortunately not. Maybe next time. Maddie, what's your guess?" Buck asked, turning to face her. Maddie gave a thoughtful look before answering.

"Is it spaghetti?" She guessed. Buck gave a thoughtful hum before turning to Chimney.

"Saving the best for last, huh?" Chimney teased. Buck turned to face Jee.

"I guess your dad doesn't get a guess!" Buck said with a mock cheer. Jee cheered along.

"Hey!" Chimney gave Buck a dramatic look of betrayal.

"Alright. I guess you can have a guess," Buck dramatically sighed. From the side Maddie laughed as she opened the bag to see what was for lunch.

"They were guessing things you usually make for lunch. I'm gonna guess you brought take-out. Specifically Thai take-out," Chimney guessed. Buck had an exited glint in his eyes.

"Close. It's Indian take-out," Buck grinned.

this is a chimney centered fic. i thought id show the buckley-han family (plus buck) being silly because we need more of it. this is set around mid season 6 so jee is about 2/3 years old

i was gonna choose chinese take-out, but my love for the one indian restaurant on door dash took over.

the fic is about chimney being gray asexual. discovering and coming out later in life. im not gray ace, so if anybody who is has any experience or stories you would like to share please let me know 🙏
