Something I use to boost my self esteem and make myself feel like a functioning member of society is designing magazines! I’m sure I’ve previously posted all about Scribbles, well, now I’m a part of the Wishbone Words team! This is their 13th issue (and my 2nd) and it also has come out just around their 3rd birthday!
If you don’t know; Wishbone Words are a creative magazine made both for and by disabled and chronically ill people. All our contributors are ill, the whole team is ill, it’s a sick magazine (pun fully intended!)
We’re a pretty large team because you can bet there’s always someone on a health related time out, I only came back into the fold 3 days ago; just in time for release!
Please check us out, this team is so health-supportive it’s the exact work environment we all aspire to have so if enough of you engage maybe they’ll be able to start paying me!
There are only 2 issues a year because magazine creation takes immense work and, again, we’re all very very sick! It’s £3 per issue, but if you submit your own work you’ll get a free copy!
Here’s the link to issue 13’s page, you’ll find submissions guidelines on the same website:

I’m the magazine designer by the way, I realise I didn’t say so before. I’ve been working on this issue for several months and will be working on the next one for equally as long. It really really helps me cope with my bed days when my body won’t hold my weight; at least I can still feel like I’ve achieved something!
Doing these magazines has helped me realise what I want out of a career, I look forward to the future, and I hope that one day I have enough spoons to achieve those goals! For now though, I’ll only make these posts twice a year.
If you’ve gotten this far I’ve a little thank you for you; it’s the issue 14 cover reveal!
I’m so so proud of this bad boy and I think it’s probably my best work yet! So please look upon its grandeur with envy for my talent:
