All I can think about now is that when WishHook was sad and thinking about Alice, WishAriel was there to be his friend, listen, and give him hope that things would work out and he’d be able to hug his daughter once again.

Aaaand we get a silver pirate next week!
@thesschesthair
So this is one of those things that should probably stay in the angst room. But it’s wish!hook week and you know… *shrug* We were discussing the idea of what wish!hooks cursed backstory is. What does he remember, specifically about Liam and Milah. What version of a backstory can he remember that doesn’t leave him an angsting rage-ball like we see pre-CS or pre-Alice.
Warning: Half rambling headcanon, that evolves / devolves into a tragic angsty oneshot below…. Have fun?
If by some strange twist the mother of Hook's daughter was Milah, could you get behind it ? If you are still considering watching, that is
Hell no. When I say I won't watch any version of Hook or Emma with anyone else on this show, that's what I mean. I'm not sure why you'd think Milah would get special dispensation. I already unfollow blogs that post too much Millian as it is. (As I do with any blogs that gleefully post about Hook or Emma with other people.)
The rest under the cut so as not to offend her protection squad.
Father Daughter Time
This is my first time writing a KnightRook story, but I had an idea and I wanted to get it down! It’s Alice’s thirteenth birthday, and Killian wanted to make it special, so he bought her tickets to see her favorite band.
I admit, I really was not expecting Alice to want me with her at the concert and not one of her friends, but I was honored she wanted to enjoy this experience with me. I smiled over at her in the passenger seat. She had connected her phone to my radio, putting on some music from the band we were going to see, so I could prepare myself to some degree, for what I was about to endure for the next two hours or so.
She was bopping her head, her hair flying around her face wildly. She had messily tangled some colored extensions in her hair, they were all over her head, all of them random colors, I thought she looked a little ridiculous, but it’s her birthday, and it made her happy. She was half singing, half yelling the lyrics, as she squirmed in the seat to dance along to the music. I chuckled, switching my attention back to the road. I hummed along once in awhile, drumming my fingers over the wheel.
I pulled into the lot, and Alice squealed with delight, scaring the ever loving daylights out of me. “We‘re Here!” She repeated continuously bouncing up and down in her seat. I nodded, flicking off the car before turning to her. “Are you excited?” I smirked, already knowing the answer. “Yes!” She screamed out. I was about 80% sure, i’d go deaf tonight... if it weren’t the speakers, it would surely be my daughters doing. She fought with her seatbelt, before climbing into the back for her book bag. It was covered in pins and patches with all kinds of phrases, quotes, and lyrics. She brought the bag to the front, slamming it to the floor, before digging around in it. She fished out her wallet, leafing through all her birthday money she’d received from Uncle Liam and a few others. “I think I can at least afford a poster, and a hat..." She muttered, after she counted 250. I looked at her like she was crazy. “Only that?” “Concert merch is really expensive Papa...” I confiscated her money, tucking it into the compartment. “Save your money, if you want something that badly, i’ll pay.” “But Papa, you already paid for the tickets-” “No buts, you aren’t wasting your money on something you can buy at a dollar store for cheap.” I pointed out. I could see defiance in her eyes, but she nodded begrudgingly, crossing her arms and turning away from me. “I love you Alice.” “I love you too, Papa...” She mumbled back.
When we got to the fairgrounds where the concert was being held, it was increasingly overwhelming to me. All around were blinking lights, loud music and all kinds of rides and food carts, none of which looked too safe. I glanced at Alice, who was marveling at all the sights and smells. “Papa, look!” She squeaked, pointing out a game booth, full of plush toys. “I like the white rabbit!” She stared at the stuffed creature in wonder. I sighed, and we approached the booth. “How much?” “Five.” I put the money down, and the carnie traded the cash for darts. Alice bounced beside me, utterly elated. “Alice, mind stepping back?” “Oh! right, sorry...” She took a few steps back, and continued her cute bouncing. I smiled, shaking my head. I beat the game, much to The Carnie’s displeasure. “What do you want?” He snarled, picking the darts out of the board. “The rabbit.” I pointed to the one Alice had been enchanted with. He grumbled curses to himself as he climbed up and unhooked the doll, handing it to me. I passed the toy to Alice, who looked like she would explode from the happiness. Her eyes sparkled as she grinned up at me. I felt a bit of pride, being the one to instill such feelings in her sweet little heart. She took me by the hand, and jerked me forward, leading us deeper into the fair. I had my work cut out for me tonight...
After an hour of letting my daughter drag me here and there, we took a break and got something to eat. We got a large order of fries, that she carried off to a table while I paid. She picked at them, as she started relaying tonight's events back to me, with barely a breath between each sentence. I wondered how her lungs had the capacity... She chattered at me, endlessly, I didn’t have the heart to remind her i’d been with her all night, and had lived them just the same. I just smiled back at her, tanking a drink of my soda. How was I so lucky to have such an amazing child?
When time came around for the concert, I was a little exhausted. I marveled Alice, for how she could always keep so energetic. She dragged me through the concert hall, hunting down our seats. I took a moment to relax, as I sunk down into the seat. Alice was forcefully shoving her winnings into her bag before tossing it under her chair and sitting down. She was grinning ear to ear, looking around at all the people around us, fascinated. Her hair was a complete mess, from all the rides she forced me to go on. “Alice, come here and let me fix your hair.” She blinked at me, but continued to move, so she was sitting at my feet. I pulled out her extensions, and set them aside. “Brush.” She dug through her bag and handed me the hair brush she always kept. I fixed her hair quietly, brushing her wild curls back into place. When I was done, I carefully clipped her extensions back in, the proper way. “Papa, how do you know how to use extensions?” Alice asked curiously, as finished. “Uhm... I had a girlfriend that liked to put them in... she broke her hand once, and asked me to do it for her, so I did.” I muttered, not getting into the details. She nodded, switching her attention back to the stage. “Oh! It’s starting!” She squealed, jumping up to try and see over the people in front of us.
After another band had opened the concert for them, Alice’s idols walked out on stage cheering and waving. Alice screamed in delight, jumping up to try and see. “Here.” I lifted her up, setting her on my shoulders, so she could see better. She smiled down at me, and I grinned back. They started singing and so did Alice, knowing every word to every lyric. I struggled through the few songs I did know, laughing at my terrible notes, but I was having some fun, Alice clearly having an absolute blast as well. She giggled and cheered, dancing on my shoulders and screaming. I wondered if she’d still have a voice by the end of the night.
When everything was said and done, Alice had passed out from exhaustion. I tossed her bag over my shoulder, and scooped her up, cradling her in my arms. I carried her back to the car, tucking her into her seat. She was a mess, her hair was wild again, and her face paint she’d begged for was smudging from sweat. I buckled her in, before tossing my jacket over her. I walked around to my side, slumping into the seat, debating if I should wait a few minutes and let the lot clear out before trying to drive... but my stomach made the decision for me. I was starving, and needed something to eat. I pulled out carefully, cursing under my breath at every no driving idiot on the road.
Alice woke up a few minutes later, groggy and hungry like I was. “ Papa, can we get something to eat?” She yawned, rubbing her eye. ‘Already on it, I saw a fast food place on the way here.” “Yay~” she cheered sleepily. I grabbed dinner quickly, passing Alice her food, and picking at mine between red lights. I wanted to get home and get some sleep. Tonight was exhilarating, but I was utterly exhausted. We got home finally, around midnight. Alice had clocked out again, so I had to carry her into the house, which I didn’t mind. I scooped her up, lugging her inside. “Alice, you need to get a shower tonight, sweetheart.” I whispered as I took her into the living room. She groaned, and started to stir. “Get cleaned up, and get to bed... Did you have fun tonight?" She gave me a sweet goofy smile, and a lazy nod. “Yeah, so much fun...” She croaked, already loosing her voice. “I’m glad, now off with ya.” I shooed her out and she wandered off to the bathroom.
I laid out on the couch, wanting to make sure she got to bed, before I went. I flicked the tv on, watching some Criminal Minds, when I heard the shower go off. "Papa?” “Aye? something the matter, Alice?” “No.. I was just...” She poked out the hall, fiddling with her fingers. “Would you mind tucking me in tonight?” She asked sheepishly. I smiled wide. “Not at all, Starfish.” I got up, and followed her into her room. She climbed into bed shyly, letting me tuck the sheets around her. “Goodnight Alice, I love you.” I kissed her head, brushing my hand through her hair. “I love you too Papa... But... Would you...” She wanted something, but he couldn’t seem to formulate the words. “She moved through the fair...” she whispered, brushing a damp curl from her face, a dark blush spread over her face. I chuckled, climbing into the bed beside her. “She stepped away from me.... And she moved through the fair.” Alice nuzzled into my side, relaxing into me. ”And I fondly watched her, move here and move there.” Her eyes started to droop. “And she went her way homeward, with one star awake.” I was starting to drift off as well... My singing turned to a slow murmur. “As the swans in the evening, move over the lake.” Alice was snoring softly. I kissed her head, slipping out slowly, so not to disturb her. I flicked out her light, feeling pretty good about how the night went. It had been forever, since Alice had asked that of me... but I was glad she did. I was starting to miss when she was little, and needed me. I dropped into bed, mulling over the events of tonight. I couldn’t help but grin, at every memory of Alice, bursting at the seams with excitement and happiness. I hoped I got to have more moments like this with her... I thought, before letting myself finally drop.
