Maybe it's nothing, but when Eugene first meets Varian he mistakenly calls him "Veritas" which means "truth".
Noted.
That sun/moon drawing in the intro looks an awful lot like the carving on Cassandra's weapons closet! Do you think Cass will ever contain both the moonstone and the sundrop? Also, it seems like they completed much of Varian's arc from season one. I'm curious to see where they take him next (personally, I want more interaction between him and Lance)! Do you believe that Quirin spoke the whole truth about what was on the letter?
The sun and moon is also parallel to the scroll, and to the celestial event that caused the two drops to fall. I don’t know if Cass will ever contain them both. I feel like that’s what Rapunzel is leading up to eventually, not Cass.
I love that Varian is now a regular, comfortable member of the community. Seeing him in “Lost Treasure” was an absolute delight!
And yes, I think that’s all that was in the letter. (Still feel like it was something of a cop-out.)
I don't think Cassandra will be redeemed in one episode, but despite the episode description, I have a strange feeling Cassandra's Revenge will at LEAST be the beginning of her redemption!
I think you’re right! This episode is almost definitely going to begin setting up for the finale, and for Zhan Tiri to become the main villain, Cassandra has to become less of a threat. It’d make a whole lot of sense for the seeds to be planted here!
Theory time: Quirin's already dead. I mean, he wrote a letter. If he were going to be alive once they freed him then there really wouldn't be a point for the letter to be there. At the very best, he's in a coma, but I don't know. Things just aren't looking too great for him (I do want him to be alive, though). ANOTHER: What if Varian isn't actually in prison? A lot of time has passed and the king supposedly promised to get him help. What I'm saying is LET HIM AND XAVIER INTERACT
I also think Quirin’s most likely either dead or in a coma, for that same reason. The letter’s gotta be important for some reason, the writers wouldn’t have just put it there if it wasn’t. Poor Varian though, he really isn’t going to react well if that turns out to be the case :(
And yes, I do think Varian’s probably free. He might of spent some time in jail, but I’m thinking he’s not gonna be there anymore by the time s3 premieres. I don’t have any specific theory as to what went on with him inbetween s1 and s3 (I do have some headcanons but those are pretty well in AU territory at this point) but I do think he’s not in prison anymore.
Unsure if it's been pointed out, but maybe there is significance to the element/compound Eugene and Cass were named after? Like the Flynnolium causing explosive reactions and the Cassandrium created under pressure? I feel like there's more to it, but I can't think of it right now!
Huh! That’s an interesting take on it!!
Friedborg painted what looked like black rocks on the group mural. Also, both she and Vigor had unfocused eyes. Only when Demanitus surfaced did the monkey's eyes focus. We've never heard Friedborg talk. We've also learned that Zhan Tiri's voice actor is FEMALE. What I'm saying is this silly speculation might have some substance to it: Friedborg is Zhan Tiri's vessel! It would certainly be a HUGE twist, but I do believe there are at least some parallels between Friedborg and Vigor!
Friedeborg just painted the corner of the painting black, not the black rocks. I honestly think she’s just supposed to be a weird (questionable) joke and has zero ties to Zhan Tiri.
But who knows, the monkey is Demanitus.
It would be epic if the cast sung a song that combined previous songs they've sung
It would be. I like songs like that.
