Witch Tools | Witchs Bell | Besom | Ladder

Witch's Bell

Ringing the witches bell is actually a ‘spirtual language’ spoken to the spirit world. Its more effective when you repeatedly call the same spirit [e.g your guardian angel]

Ring three times the witches bell everytime you summon the same spirit for a whole week, starting on Wednesday.

Right after that, the spirit will come to you with just three gentle rings.

A symbol of the female force and the celestial vault... Witch Bells, Spirit Bells, Ritual Bell, Devil Drivers.

Magical Uses

Ring a bell to cleanse the energy of a room, before a ritual or spell. Pass a bell through each of the four corners, summoning the guardian spirits of the elements.

Ring a bell on Samhein to banish evil spirits. After spell work, ring a bell to ‘seal the spell’ Hang bells on the gates/doors of your home to keep evil energies/entities from entering. Ring a bell before meditation to focus the mind.

A bells vibrations banish the unwanted spirits and/or negative energies. They are also used to raise the spirits of the dead & to call fairies.

Besom [Broom]

Used to spiritually cleanse your space, often before a ritual or spell. Hang it above your door to ward off evil.

Making a Besom.

You would like a besom of your own, they are fairly easy to find in craft stores, country markets or folk art fairs. You can also invest your energies into making one. A good idea if you wish to use it in place of a wand or other ritual tool.

To make a besom you will need;

A four foot dowel one inch in diameter. Ball of twine. Scissors. Straw or longer strands of pliable herbs.

Take the straw, or another herb you have chosen for the bristles, and allow to soak overnight in war, lightly salted water. The water softens the straws to make them pliable, and the salt soaks out the former energies. When you are ready to make your besom, remove the straws from the water and allow them to dry a bit, but not so much that they lose the suppleness you will need to turn them into your besom.

Find a work area, where you can lay out the length of your dowel, and begin lining the straws alongside the dowel. Starting about three inches from the bottom, lay the straws, moving backward, along the length of the dowel. Begin binding these to the dowel with the twine. You will need to tie them very securely. You can add as many layers of straw as you wish, depending on how full you would like your besom to be.

When the straw is secured, bend the top straws over the twine ties. When they are all gently pulled over, tie off the straws again a few inches below the original tie. Leave the besom overnight to allow the straw to dry.

 The dowel part of the besom can be stained, painted, or decorated with pagan symbols, your craft name, or any other embellishments you choose. Dedicate your finished besom in your circle as you would any other ritual tool.

How to make a witches ladder.

 By Knot of one the spells begun. By Knot of two the magick comes true. By knot of three so shall it be. By Knot of four, this power is stored. By knot of five, my will shall drive. By Knot of six, the spell I fix. By knot of seven, the future I leaven. By knot of eight, my will be fate. By knot of nine, what is done is mine.

*When tying the last knot, direct all of your energy into the cord/rope and its knots now it is stored in the knots in the cord. 

*Tie the ends together and use as a necklace, hang in your car, or by your bed.

This is typical done during the dark moon to set intentions for the full moon and is united at that time. 

Green for money, red for passion, white for creativity, purple for wisdom, black to stop bad habits, brown for balance, yellow for happiness, orange for health and blue for peace.

I just finished up your fiction on WiTA! Sans just gives me the chills, but I just can't put my finger on him! Why does he hate humans so much?! Also I've been wondering, what would happen if the reader tried to use seduction on Sans to win over his trust to escape? Like full on playing the whatever role he wants her to be, which I'm guessing is the 'loyal house wife'?

I’m so glad you like it! It always makes me so happy to know others actually like my story’s that I grin and squeal most of the time (that is if I’m alone lol).

And Sans has a lot of issues going on that make him think the way and act the way he does~

Attempting to play the role that Sans wants is a tactic that reader actually does use quite often! She even went as far as sleeping with him a few times (although some of those times it was in a desperate attempt to get more physical contact, actually feel something else emotionally even if it was for a short amount of time among other things). She has gotten so use to playing this role that for some things it’s sadly no longer an act.

But in response to your question he is generally much more happier when he’s outside of the attic, does not seem like he’s spacing off as much, doing the thing where others feel as if he’s actively ‘judging’ them 24/7, and just generally seems more ‘normal’. It’s honestly when everyone feels more at ease around him.

His reaction to reader is to start visiting them more, giving them more and more complements and saying things like ‘your doing so well’, ‘see? We can get along if you just try’, ‘see? it’s not so bad being with me’, ‘doesn’t this feel normal? Doesn’t this feel right?’, and to give them more things that they ask for such as the oven and stove.

Ball/Sphere: Crystal that is shaped into a ball from a larger piece of crystal…quartz crystals rarely occurs naturally as a sphere. The Sphere is associated with Harmony, scrying, even energy all around.

Crystal Pyramid: Manifestation, intently focused energy. prosperity.

A crystal shaped like a pyramid, it has four equal triangular sides that meet to a point with a flat square base. It’s effective for amplifying energy. *Egyptian used the pyramids to send the pharaoh's soul straight to the gods. Crystal Generators and Obelisks are 2 shapes that are often confused with one another, just count the number of sides. A generator has six equal sides and an Obelisk has four. Generators, Obelisks and Pyramids are great shapes to direct/amplify energy. Better used in crystal grids, as it will amplify/boost energy. 

Crystal Wands: Healing and rituals, moving/directing energy.

Crystal wands have many uses, they can be used for massage therapy (eg a massage wand), acupressure and reflexology. They can also be used to direct energy in a certain direction, draw negative energy away from you and to activate crystal grids. Crystal wands can be used for chakra healing.

Crystal Eggs: Balance, Fertility, healing

The pointed end of an egg shaped crystal is often used by practitioners of acupressure, reflexology and massage. Similar to spheres, crystal eggs are a great shape to hold whilst meditating. Crystal eggs represent fertility, birth and new beginnings.

Cluster: A group of crystals growing together having many points and sharing the same base clusters rapidly radiate energy in all directions. The cluster radiates energy, meditation and unity.

Crystal Cube: consolidates energy, grounding and meditation, connects to the energy of the earth.

Tumbled: Gentle, constant energyRaw: Strong, Sporadic, pure energy.Double Terminated/Twin: Receives and emits energy transmits informationPalm: Grounding, healing, “Worry stone.”

There are 219 Crystals [And I do not have the time or energy to go over ALL of them when we Wiccans can’t use/afford that many, and so we’ll only cover the basics/most used Crystals.

Be VERY careful with crystals. Not ALL of them can be in direct sunlight and not ALL can be placed in water. Some Crystals are sun/water types and if you need to charge them or use them make sure you know which is which!

Witch Tools | Altar Setup

Altar Blessing. 

Wave your hands over your altar while chanting: From the Mystic light, To fertile foundations On the shores of the waters Out of hopes and dreams On the wings of Wine Of Light and inspiration With the inner flame kindled Divine spark and gleam Back to light For manifestation swiftly fulfilled Moves the unseen By the moon The Stars and the Sun By the Gods The Goddesses and the Ancient Ones. Blessed be this Altar  And all here on Good for all And harming none

“And Altar is a sacred space where we can exercise creative action, self-discipline and intuition.

-Chalice or Cup -Wand -Pentacle -Athame of Knife -1 White candle -Altar cloth

Arrange your tools on the altar and light the white candle

Close your eyes and take three deep breaths. Visualise a bright light coming from the candle flame. It surrounds your altar and yourself.

Take the wand in your dominant hand and point it to the sky say,

“By the moon, the stars and the sun,

By the god, the goddess and Ancient Ones,

 blessed be this altar here on. 

 Good for all and harming none.”

Use your wand to touch the Pentacle as you take a deep breath, breathe in and out. Do the same with the Chalice, Athae and your altar cloth of table.

Place the wand back on the altar and say “Blessed be my altar.” 

Sit down or remain standing as you meditate and think of all the great things that your altar will bring to you. Peace, serenity, awareness, intuition.

An altar is used to help you focus on spells and rituals, ceremonies or other magick workings. An altar is liked with energy and items that are used in rituals. Your altar should provide you with inspiration and should always be carefully maintained.

As a workspace, an altar should be large enough for you to use and conduct your spiritual workings, so choose its location wisely. 

Be careful when selecting altar items, each item should have meaning to you, and should be used frequently. Don’t add meaningless or unnecessary items to your altar, or you may decrease the energy and power levels.

Consider your personal beliefs. Each altar item should fill with what you believe, and the whole altar should be a reflection of yourself.

Altar Set up:

An altar is any structure on which offerings, prayers or rituals are made. This space can be used for meditation, rituals and showing gratitude. 

Establish a sacred space in your home by setting up an altar. 

 You can decorate your altar according to each season with the flora/fuana, or to symbolise an element [Air, earth, water, fire] 

So a candle for both the god and goddess or you can replace them with a statue if you can.

White candle for the triple goddess, black for the horned god.

Have a cauldron near the centre and have the pentacle alongside it [the two are usually in close proximity with it]

Salt for Earth- Incense for air- Water for water- Dragons blood for fire? [I guess]

Book of shadows on the bottom left hand corner. Have wand/boline/athame on the bottom right. 

Optional to include a bell, chalice.

Usually used alone or with an altar. Tools are used to witchcraft to direct or manipulate energy, or to communicate to the universe our intentions. While witchcraft can be practised without tools, and only with our intention and personal power. It's much easier and more efficient for most witches to use tools. 

 Follow your intuition and only use tools that you feel comfortable with. If you don’t have a specific tool required for a spell or ritual, don’t worry! All tools can be substituted with others or with your intention. 

Witchy tip: Some tools are specific to certain religions or regions [the athame from wicca, the singing bowl from Tibet] It’s important to make sure the tools and rituals as borrowing from closed religions lead to inaccurate results to karma. 

How to consecrate your tools with elements.

 Consecrate your ritual tools, to attune them to your own energy.

 It is important to consecrate your tools when you get them, one by one. After that you can do it every samhain, so they don't lose their energy. Consecrating should be reserved for tools that will only be used in a ritual.

Air, Earth, fire, and water ritual;

White candle. Incense, bowl of Sea Salt, Bowel of purified water. *Cast a circle. *Arrange the elements on your altar. 

North/Earth: Salt. East/Air: Incense. South/Fire: Candle. West/Water. Water.

*Light the incense and the candle. *Hold the ritual tool to be consecrated over each element and say a blessing for each element.

*After saying each element, blessing end with “I consecrate this object. May it enhance and purify all it touches.” 

[Only you should touch your tools, they contain your energy and are spiritually bonded with you]

Earth Blessing;

Leaf and bean, dirt and shoot. I seek to strengthen the growing roots within to make me whole. With healing hands I call for the spirits to lend me their aid.

Water blessing;

Glimmer of light, mirror of the night. Water that flows through my soul, make me whole. With healing hands, I call for the spirits to lend me their aid.

Air Blessing;

Greats guardian of strong storm winds. Let me sing to the spirit within, to make me whole, within healing hands. I call for the spirits to lend me their aid.

Fire blessing;

Smoke of air and fire of earth. I seek the glowing forge within, to make me whole. With healing hands, I call for the spirits to lend me their aid.

[Remember to consecrate each individual item on your altar also]
