She hasn't seen Mika in a few days. Their schedules differ enough that sometimes they only see each other in passing, so it's not totally unusual. But around day three, Uzi finally thinks that something might be off. It can't have been something she did, right? And hopefully it wasn't V. Maybe it's just some human thing- she's still not totally sure how they work.

Still, three days is a long time. She gives a quick rap on Mika's door, leaning her audio sensors in. "Mika? You there? Wanted to make sure you weren't dead, or whatever."

Or maybe she's just not here? Or it could be Mika moved away and didn't tell her. Doesn't really sound like her, but they weren't especially close. If she is here, maybe this is a chance to amend that a bit.

Let's try again. "Wanna see what I looked like as a bird? Got some cool pics of that whole freaky thing that happened. I got to try food, that was... interesting? I dunno, maybe I'm just not used to tasting things."

More silence, and Uzi shrugs. "Well, uh. Let me know if you're... Around, I guess. Or even just alive. If you're dead can I have your room? Just gonna use it for storage."

It's a familiar story Sometimes things just happen on this island, and it's all anyone can do to just hold just the tide sweeps them away. You can try to resist, but that's the point?

There isn't a point.

There never was a point.

Nier looks down at her hands, finding something wrong and nothing wrong. If there was something wrong, it wouldn't matter, so nothing's wrong.

Nothing is wrong.

Everything is just as it should be.

Something might hurt, if there were anything left. Even the sight of a familiar face does nothing to bring Nier back from whatever precipice she finds herself on. Hadn't she mentioned something like this the last time they spoke? It's all running together in her mind.

"Mika... This isn't normal, is it? The city is grey, the sky isn't blue, everything's..." She lifts her head up, expression blank. "Well... I guess it doesn't matter, does it? Maybe it's just like this now. Or maybe it'll have ended the next time we wake up. What can we do about it? There's nothing to do..."

(deck the halls with boughs of... folly? mm, not my best work).

silly one-liners. a fittingly blase thing for this adrenaline junkie to ponder as he and his pink companion wait at the threshold of frosty's cold-as-balls mansion.

"nothing screams 'winter wonderland' like a haunted house--" his quip interrupted by a comically well-timed 'EEEK' from within. "emphasis on scream, i s'pose," yuri mumbles, eyeing an overenthusiastic employee with a bloody icicle protruding from their stomach; they're waving the pair over, so that must mean...

"last chance to bow out, mika. that tacky prop's about as tame as this, uh..." with a flick, he unfurls a pamphlet and reads it over, his spoOoOoky voice making its contents impossible to take seriously, "'maze with horrifying frozen creatures, icy traps, and other surprises' is gonna get!"

Mika gets asked a lot of questions about her halo, Queen's sure about that, but the question she's about to ask her might just be a first.

“They were advertising a lot of festivities around the city for Halloween, but so many of them seemed to include a lot of walking… Scavenger hunts and haunted house tours. I don’t think I could handle more then a little while of that before having to rest, honestly… Maybe the hayride wouldn’t be so bad but those are usually awfully bumpy.” He’s not sure his stomach would hold up against that even though he had taken his medicine.

And overexerting himself right now was definitely the last thing he wanted to do. Walking through the market was reasonably plausible at least, where there were plenty of places to sit and relax, and he didn’t have to go far.

“But this is… fun too, right? Look at all the Halloween decorations the stalls are selling. Oh, and I think I saw some cute jewelry and trinkets… that you might like? If you’ll lend me a hand back to my feet we can walk a bit more.”

He’s sure with all her energy she’s more then ready to keep going; so he feels a bit bad slowing her down, but he was nervous she might be a bit rambunctious to let wander the shops totally on her own.
