Whatever kind of Magic you’re working, having your pets/familiars around always makes it better & more powerful. Some of of them love to get involved, some of them just watch from the distance. I'd love to know - do any other witches have pets that aren't familiars or particularly witchy in anyway that just bring the most delightful energy to your space? I have a ridiculous black staffie mix called Patrick and he's a chaotic little boy that plays with his chew toys while I read cards. He doesn't care much about them, but his presence always makes reading them a lot more fun and enriched!

Cast a familiar spell on your pet! They can help you with magic and divination, but they can also provide you with protection. Here’s a familiar spell:
Draw a pentagram on a piece of paper and write your full name above it. Then write your pet's name underneath it. Hang it near the area your pet hangs out the most and there you go, your pet is now your familiar!
Signs that it is working:
Your pet will get more excited than usual around you.
You and your pet may be able to understand a few words they/you are saying.
You'll feel a magical bond between you and your pet.
Your pet gets more jealous if they smell another pet on you, but they get over it quicker.
But you can also summon one! Here’s a spell for summoning:

I tried these, and the second one is how i found one of my cats. I already had another cat, and i used the first one on him. It worked!
Tarot Activity: Learn About Your Future Pet
Recently was having some intense conversations and tarot work with a close friend of mine and to give us a little bit of a break from the intensity and for me to get to know their cards. I recommend using this with tarot decks that are nature-based or comfortable with you or just trying to be curious/get to know you.
=Get to Know Your Future Pet=
1 - Circumstances in obtaining future pet: This card is indicating how you might meet, find or obtain your future animal companion. This could be telling the story of their adoption or the situation in your life when you bring them into your family
2- Personality of your future pet: The personality, good and bad, gives you an idea of the “flavor” of how they interact with you and others.
3- Special / Unique features of your future pet : Something that makes your pet stand out from other animals of its species or other pets you may have owned
I did this for a future doggo I hope to get with my fiance after we are married and have a home. This deck, The Wild Unknown, seemed perfect and I am glad I was able to borrow it to do this reading.

why don't you agree with cats being indoor/outdoor? my first cat came to us by herself and she uses the bathroom outside and takes naps outside. and that's how every of our cats are. Our house doors are always opened from 6am to 7pm. But they always sleep inside too.
a million reasons haha cats are an invasive species which means they throw off native ecosystems with predation, excrement, disease carrying, etc. approx 30ish species of songbirds have become extinct solely because of predation by domestic cats.
They are also much more at risk to danger themselves when outdoors (disease, dangerous things they may eat, cars, predators etc)

Familiars (& other animal friends) will often be very curious + interested in your magical workings but might be a bit shy to really join in. If you see that interest & you are feeling the vibes, by all means take the initiative and bring them into the process! More often than not they'll have something of value to bring to the situation, they are powerful little beings & they usually love helping their special humans with their unique energy + natural abilities.
