don’t wait too long.

some people are smart, they know their limits and they respect them. jiyeon sees her limits, cross them and laughs. some people know who they should and should not talk to. jiyeon knows, but she still ignores the warning her brain gives her and smiles when she sees kang jun sitting by himself.
of a waste of a pretty boy.
she picks two doses of shots – not smart, not smart at all when she has already drunk a bit too much – and walks over to him. tonight seems like a good night to make bad decisions, or as good as any other, and jiyeon is full of them. and it’s not like jun is that bad now or at any other moment, but every time they are together jiyeon feels the weight of unsaid words between them.
comparing to her other relationships jun was always the easy one: they saw each other when they could, there was never pressure to make time for each other, to change schedules – they knew they could never – or move things around so they could be together. there was never much effort, but there was a mutual appreciation, jiyeon is sure of it.
it’s not strange to talk to him now, jiyeon doesn’t feel her chest ache, she doesn’t miss him, at least not in a romantic way. so it’s not strange when she walks over him with the drinks, it’s not weird when she stops by his side and smiles. it’s not weird, it’s almost familiar.
it’s still there, so many things in between them, and sometimes jiyeon wonders if they will ever say them, if they need closure or not. but it’s not strange. “the dare says take a shot with the person on your right, so.” jiyeon gives him the shot instead of a greeting and it’s not strange. it’s like she is picking up a conversation from where they left. “i started doing these things now i can’t stop.”
jiyeon takes the shot, fast and all at once as it’s supposed to be. she makes a face when her throat burns and thinks of what her sister would say if she said jiyeon now. not good things, that is for sure.
she looks at jun and smiles. “what are you, harry potter?” jiyeon asks and gets closer. “want to show me your wand?” she raises her eyebrows on a suggestive gesture and then laughs, throwing her head back and covering her face. “sorry, it sounded better in my head. i must have drunk too much already.” it’s not a lie, but jiyeon is not that drunk. yet. but she is not worried, jun will understand her sense of humor, he always does. that’s why this is not strange.
