closed starter for @mcstardently- Harriett Barnett // Barnett House
The Barnett’s fortune had impressively changed and while such a thing did not fully interest Nalan, it was of interest to his father. A new earl and countess would surely be in want of a partner for their sisters, to continue their own successes by matching off those who remained unmarried, and Nalan was indeed that. There was much discussion to be had around this, around Nalan’s reluctance to court one of the remaining Barnett sisters, but his appa had decided the one best suited for Nalan was the forth daughter, notably not the diamond, but something else. Nalan had little choice to accept, and so he found himself standing in the Barnett house drawing room with a bunch of yellow roses in hand. “Miss Barnett, I am glad you could receive me. I was hoping to see you at your sister's ball, will you be in attendance?” It would hopefully be the first ball that Nalan would not be involved in some sort of scene, maybe even a dance or two with one of the Barnett sisters, whatever the case, it was a chance to show London that he was not the scandalous man he had rightly been painted out to be.
