Rhabdophobia’s Revenge: Chapter 1
Rhabdophobia- Dark grey she-cat with dark mint stripes on cheeks
Spirit- Lavender Pink she-cat with purple eyes with a black iris.
Solar-Light blue she-cat with blue eyes and black iris (mother to Rhabdophobia and Spirit).
Rhabdophobia’s paws burned with dread and sorrow. To even think her sister exiled her from Visaquarelle was truly devastating. She felt betrayed. For all these years her sister accompanied here, comforted her, loved her. She supported her at the darkest of times. Rhabdophobia shook her head, pity was no longer an option. Her heart broke as every step away from her kingdom, felt like a pain that cut deeper into her heart than what of a knife. She stopped to break off for a wail, screaming in hopes that the pain would go away, and she would wake up in her velvety bed as though nothing happened. But when she opened her eyes there was only emptiness. Nothing had happened. This wasn’t a dream and most of all something was clear, Spirit was not coming back.
Dread piled into her stomach as she sat down next to a tree for a rest, her stomach was gnawing with hunger as she clenched her teeth and buried her nose into her fur. She felt darkness surrounding her with every breath that was bestowed upon her. A bursting rage rose from her chest as she slid out her claws with sheer anger. SHE did not deserve to be sentenced for something she had not done. The power in her paws overwhelmed her as adrenaline took over. It was her decision whether she killed or not.
“I will not let those damn Mythicals get the better of me. They are yet to face their darkest hour” She growled into the midnight sky as all faded to black.
Memories flooded into Rhabdophobia’s vision… “Spirit you called me here? What thought led you to bestow me upon you?” Rhabdophobia asked gently, her paws tingling with anxiety.
“Exile Rhab. I have been thinking about your future lately and I thought it would be best if you went away from the kingdom…forever. “Spirit spat out, regret compiling in her words. Rhabdophobia stepped back, her ears twitching as silence roared around them.
“W-what do you mean Spirit? I don’t understand, I-I have done nothing wrong have I?” Rhabdophobia choked disbelievingly, “You have always been by my side even in my darkest times I don’t see why I have to be exiled…”
Spirit’s eyes grew sympathetic for a heartbeat before snapping back to a menacing snarl.
“I was given a prophecy that there would be one closer to me that I could ever imagine. She would make me do things I would regret solemnly. I think that person is you, as much as I hate to believe it. I told mother and she immediately accused me of not telling this earlier… however, she seemed much more… relieved when I told her although she snapped at me. I was not convinced it was you until I looked up into the evening sky and saw you face staring menacingly at me as the sun set. The sun bursted into flames around your face before the sun set. As much as I hate to say this, I highly think that person is you. You are closer to me than ma, and you can make me do things I don’t want to with ease. “Spirit gasped for a breath as a tear rolled down her cheek. “Please don’t make this more difficult than it is to be.” She closed her eyes briefly as silence, once more surrounded them. Rhabdophobia eyes widened as tears swam around her eye. She refused to close her eyes until she felt as though her, they were being drowned. Spirit sat up and lifted her chin as she refused to show her weakness as Rhabdophobia lowered her head for a few heartbeats as she wiped her face with one paw. She looked back up, her eyes were blackened, yet her iris remained blue with hope. “You know Ma hates me. She could have easily provoked this if she wanted to. How can you trust the prophecy?” Rhabdophobia snapped, her voice suddenly softened “I know how much you hate to do this, but I’m your sister, what if this prophecy creates what is said after you exile me, how can you be su- “
Spirit broke in “It won’t happen, your exile will ensure that. Now leave and prepare for the final judgement.” Spirit left the room and slammed the door behind her, leaving a wailing soul behind…
Rhabdophobia snapped back to reality, moaning as she walked around the distant land. “If love can’t bring me victory, then hate shall. “She mewed to herself. Ahead of her was a moor that loomed around the land. She bounded up to it, stretching her paws as she curved her spine as she sprinted across the land. She felt as though every step away from Visaquarelle freed her from chains of guilt and worry that had trapped her into a weak and useless lifeform. She was finally free from all the worry in the world that had crippled her into a state of mind of which had weakened her to the point she was weaker than her younger sister. The people of Visaquarelle were wrong to exile her and she would prove it. She would cause them so much pain and suffering that they would no longer be able to escape from the trance she was yet to create. She smiled as she realised that she had scared the grass around her and that it was creating some sort of black liquid that corrupted its surroundings. If this was the path that would lead her to victory, she would take it with pleasure. She gathered moss for her bedding and settled in next to a rotting tree. She sharpened her claws on its spongy bark and settled as she watched the moor animals whipping across the landscape. She felt the wind brushing her pelt, if this was what victory tasted like, she wanted all of it.
Across the moor, Rhabdophobia spotted a rabbit bounding across the heather and grass. Rhabdophobia looked down as she realised she was in a hunter’s crouch. She raised her tail and kept it nice and still as she crawled step by step, nearer and nearer to the rabbit. Finally, before the rabbit could act she pounced onto it and bit down onto its spine, hardly noticing the sudden flood of blood in her mouth as she heard an satisfying crunch. Before her lay a limp piece of prey, piece of fresh kill, food. Grabbing it by the scruff, she hauled it into her nest as she feasted on its luscious meat. She ripped out mouthfuls, gobbling them down in massive bites. Once all that was left of the meat was bone and the meat had been stripped completely off, she settled into her nest more comfortably than before. By this time, the sun was beginning to set, laying out fiery tracks as the air around it became darker and darker. Rhabdophobia felt a menacing smile climb up her face. This was how she was going to destroy Visaquarelle, this was how she was going to cripple her sister and make her experience more pain than Rhabdophobia had ever witnessed before…
