ok but for real the AI fake live action they use in ads for shitty mobile games makes my nervous system go NO NO NO WRONG RED ALERT like. it's been said a billion times if it's been said once but it's straight up uncanny valley shit and it creeps the hell out of me. i just got one that was an especially bad example where for a split second my brains whole visual processing situation really did think it was real and i got to microdose the peewees big adventure large marge jumpscare when her fuckin eyes popped out at me. hatred and despise make it fucking stop get me out of here
it's the subtlety of it that makes it so freaky. it didnt go full slop with any easily nameable tells, there's just SOMETHING. I know for a FACT that if you had shown me this two years ago i wouldve thought it was real, maybe even one year. the cool thing about it, i guess, is that that means I'm getting way better at telling when something is AI. I use a lot more critical thinking when i look at images now, and I'm a lot more visually tuned into nuances of movement and anatomy. in a weird way i feel like I've gotten better at drawing as a result. but none of that is worth seeing this shit every day
