Happy Birthday ♎️ to Al Jourgensen @weareministry 🖤 an unrelenting and indomitable force of the Chicago industrial rock/metal sound. Although when Ministry started in the early stages they were pressured by their label Arista to be a synth-pop new wave band. Al Jourgensen has regretted their earlier sound and era in later interviews. There is reference that the label was trying to make them sound like Wham! Another tidbit that I find interesting is that he played in Divine’s back up band before forming Ministry. Personally I’m a big fan of their earlier sound, especially the first two albums, their debut With Sympathy (1983) and the follow up Twitch (1986). Their third album The Land of Rape and Honey (1988) shifted toward a heavier sound… 🖤🎹⚔️⚡️⛓
