How would the DnD boys be like with each of the possible character sizes like tiny small medium
Like would they let a tiny sized reader sit on their shoulders or a large end species like a Goliath hold the them
Well, technically the boys are medium creatures despite still being so TALL. So, they are still pretty big for medium sized creatures.
I think for tiny, it's a lot of them wanting to hold you in their hands. It might be rude, but they like holding you and bringing you up to eye level to check you out. They don't want to squat to talk to you, it feels rude. (Even if holding you up also feels rude, but they at least get to hold you and see you nicely.) They are very nice about letting you ride around on them wherever you please. They try to be respectful, but you are so cute and tiny. They really adore this size. I usually imagine a winged reader for tiny. Probably scares the pants off of Soleil when they fly around, but Atlas is mesmerized.
For small, I don't think they pick you up as much unless you ask. It feels even ruder at this size. So it's a lot of them looking awkwardly down at you or them simply sitting down on something low to talk with you. They still think you are cute, but more boundaries are put up. You are still a person (or if you prefer, creature,) so they would like to not upset you by being asses about your size. They touch your hand a lot with theirs' being so large. It feels connecting.
Medium is just how they regularly interact! Everyone is still small to them, but they grew up that way. It's no big deal.
Large is fun. They aren't used to being smaller than others around them, so if reader is in the large creature category size, they feel kind of, bashful? It's strange to have someone look on the top of your head or look down at you so much. They aren't used to it except Atlas with Soleil. But it makes them a little weirded out, like you shouldn't be so large around them. But they are still our sweet boys, and Atlas is still going to try so hard to flirt you down to his size. It's a silly dynamic.
Huge, they are just speechless. How can they talk to you when they feel like mice? It's like me being enamored by a giant woman. They are in awe of your largeness. Soleil kind of wants you to lick him and he's not sure why. Atlas still wants to flirt, but how can he talk himself up with you are already above him? Struggling guys.
And lastly, Gargantuan. I don't even think they'd try. That is TOO big. You'll crush them. They wouldn't know what to do. Now they know how tiny creatures feel. It's very vulnerable and they don't like that. You'll get hellos and thank yous if you are kind, but besides that, they keep to themselves with someone that big.
Funny concept for your Slasher boys (this could apply to plex and DND too i think) pre and post relationship
Reader has a fictional crush they're very vocal about!
Bonus points if that character is nothing like any of them!
I think this is silly to think about, but also kind of real, you know? Sometimes we do get obsessed with characters and I think it scares and can make partners worried or they can just love that you are having fun! It's interesting to see which way it goes.
Plex boys will think it's cute and will try to learn as much about the character as possible to talk with you about them. At times they might get a little nervous because they are just animatronics and your character could easily become an AI put into a robot and suddenly they would have competition, but that's them worrying of the worst case scenario that will truly never happen. Usually it's just them listening about this character and thinking you have a lot of love in your heart. Though they do question if the character is nothing like them. That confuses them. Why this one in specific again?
D&D boys partially have no room to talk. Soleil is OBSESSED with so many wizards, who yes may be real, but there is no chance of him getting with or even meeting most of them. (Some are dead if not most, so he's really not going to meet them.) He's also obsessed with Mystra, who very much isn't like Atlas, and may not be very much like you. So, who is he to talk when you are constantly talking about a fictional character when he constantly talks about his beloved fancy and cool wizards. Atlas gets a little ticked off at both of you for this. He's a perfectly good Tiefling boyfriend right in front of both of you. Show him some attention once in a while. He feels like you never talk about him like you do your fictional characters, so he gets a little jealous.
Slasher boys really do try to let you enjoy your character, but they've got some heavy jealousy running through their veins that is going to make it hard for them to play along. Soleil is going to get pouty and whiny about it. He may verbally say that you seem to like the character more than him and Attie, and he seems to actually mean it. It makes him worried that you don't actually like them, especially if this character is quite different. He's going to start asking what you do like about him and Attie that compares to this fictional character. Talk about them too! They would like it 🥺 Soleil just wants to make sure you actually like them and that they aren't just placement holders for your affection.
Atlas just gets a little grumpy. Yes, he knows you love this character. Yes it was cute at first, he loved your passion. But now they take up so much of your conversations and comments and it makes him honestly a little sad inside. You'll make him the tiniest bit insecure with it, even though he logically knows this fictional character is nothing for him to worry about. He honestly just wants a good amount of your attention. If you give him plenty, he won't care as much about the fictional character, but he might poke that he's scared you're going to run away with them and marry them when he isn't looking.
D&D au Soleil and Atlas getting healing from reader? (Idk if it would be different)
So this is different among a lot of D&D players and DMs and such, but I imagine healing feels different being received from each different person! Like one of my clerics I imagine it feels like it’s burning you as he heals you because of some backstory stuff, so it’s not really pleasant despite being healed, but I have other ideas where it feels like water washing over you as you are healed by someone, or it’s just pleasantly warm. I have a friend who plays a war-forged bard and I feel like being healed by her might feel a bit electrical in a way! So, I am going off the idea that it feels special!
Pre Relationship!
I feel like Wizard Soleil is really nervous. He’s been healed by many people and not all have been pleasant. So, when you offer to heal him, he’s holding his breath. BUT I feel like Cleric Reader has a pleasant feeling healing, so Soleil is happy to be surprised. He probably sighs with it almost too comfortably. Like it feels too nice and he’s a little too enthusiastic to be getting healed by you. It might sound a little weird, and he only catches it after and apologizes saying he just doesn’t like to be in pain or injured! He just likes to feel at the top of his health, promise!! And he is much too embarrassed about getting so comfortable with it with you. Atlas teases him.
Barbarian Atlas gets hurt all the time. He’s front row and basically a human shield for Soleil, and now you. You probably end up healing him pretty early on and quite often, and it’s probably during your initiative turn order. So, he probably barely notices you heal him. He just kind of takes it, feels a little better, assumes it’s you, says his quick thanks, and keeps fighting. After, you probably heal him again, and he pays more attention to, and he tells you in feels nice and that you are lucky to have such a nice touch. He may or may not be flirting.
Post Relationship!
Soleil looks forward to you healing him! It feels special and he loves the attention. He gets a little giddy but does whine to you about being hurt and how he needs your healings hands 🥺🥺 He’ll perish if you don’t heal him!! (He’s down 5 hp MAX out of his total hp. He is just looking to get you to be nice to him and heal him and dote on him because he got hurt in the first place.) (This man is a baby.)
Atlas gets cocky with it. Oh? You want to use healing hands? He’s making you touch his ass or both sides of his chest. He could be down to 2 hp and would still make you do it so long as danger isn’t in the way of his attempts at flirting. You tell him it’s not very flirty if he’s bleeding everywhere. He says it just makes it dramatic, now slap his ass and heal him. Or fondle his chest, he does give you the choice in case you don’t want to be so bold! He’d give you a third option which would be THE BOLDEST choice, but he doesn’t think you’re ready for him to ask that of you.
So I went to dndbeyond ( the actual link in case you or anyone else wants it XD ) to try to look up and learn more species (though it's 'view details' button just sends you to the book/pack so it's not super helpful imo XD) and saw that changeling is a race/type! (though idk if it's a 'playable' one though I did see it listed on another site as one)
And then thought that maybe reader could be that, so that self inserts could then be canonically any race! and still be able to fit any fic/drabbles that might come in the future XD
ofc you don't have to go with that but I thought it was interesting enough to mention (and has the added bonus of reader switching up things in the bedroom to keep Atlas on his toes, or y'know maybe off of them XD)
but I also don't know enough to know if clerics can be any race or how any of that stuff goes so this might just be crazy ramblings from an ignorant bear XD
I have a friend who has a changeling character from a campaign!! I guess I never thought of having reader be a changeling 🤔 and you can be any race with any class!! At least that’s how every game I’ve ever seen/played has worked that way! I know some people get hung up on what alignment you are with getting to play paladins the class, but I believe you should be able to be any alignment with any class as well. That’s just my opinion on that and how my games are played!! (DnDBeyond can be stinky sometimes with just sending you to books, I agree that it’s frustrating. I usually have better luck looking on roll20 I think!)
The beauties of having Atlas getting to ask the reader what to look like for the night is so silly yet kind of cute? to me. I can see him telling you to surprise him so often. Lucky lads him and Soleil would be!!
How many riding jokes is atlas making if the reader is a centaur
At least one a week if you are uncaring about them being told. Maybe more if you seem to take them nicely and maybe less if you do not.
If Atlas figures out you are strong enough to hold his weight and carry him as you walk like riding an actual horse, twice as much as that because now their is more to ride.
Soleil hates him for it. Atlas thinks he is hilarious.
I thought of keeping them just human, but wanted some cool feats for them! So I made them mostly human looking, but with a little spice!
Soleil is an Aasimar and Atlas is a Tiefling! Both look pretty human-passing save for a few of Atlas’s traits (his horns and tail are obvious, but his nails and teeth if you pay attention are also tells.)
Is there a reader in the dnd au if so how did they meet the boys
Yes there is, but they are way more of a loose idea than most of my readers.
Basically reader is someone they meet along the way on their adventures, probably one where they are traveling from Baldur's Gate to Waterdeep (Good luck with that, you are going to get jumped) that I would hope would be a cleric (Because please these stupid boys need a cleric because neither can fucking heal to save their lives, literally) that they would keep kind of running into and kind of combining their work together to make things easier 1. Because doing things alone is very hard even if you are a decent level so sticking with them gives you some buff and help in areas you might need it and 2. They would like a healer. Please god give them a healer they are STUPID and have no healing abilities besides potions and they can only carry so many. I truthfully do not think Soleil's Con score is that great, I think it's pretty pathetic, and his strength? I don't think it's much better if any, and as a Barbarian/Monk, there is very little Atlas can do about either of those things. Save poor Soleil's weak ass if he gets hurt. Atlas can only prevent him from getting hurt as much as possible.
But you all probably run into each other so many times that Soleil probably just suggests you work together! They get pretty good jobs, so they don't mind splitting three ways and you look like you could use some company when the roads are long and can be lonely! (Atlas isn't thrilled about this at first, no more one bed inn rooms 😔 but he'll still make it two beds when he asks for the room just so he can get a snuggle in at the least. Soleil hates him for it because he gets embarrassed to have you know that he and Atlas share a bed.)
Also funny haha for you, I 100% believe that Soleil has thrown a healing potion at Atlas before to have it crack on his skull and douse him in it to absorb it that way. Atlas probably yelled that he was a brat for it.
I wanted to know if the DND boi's celebrate any holidays during this time of year? And how do they celebrate it?
If not this time of year any holiday is ok UwU
-🦎
You can read Atlas's favorite holiday in this ask! And you can read Soleil's favorite holiday in this ask!
But this AU is based off of the Forgotten Realms universe, so all of those holidays apply for holidays that happen and I think some normal D&D holidays too!
A common holiday for the 20th day of the last month of the year, Nightal, is Simril! It is mostly celebrated along the Swordcoast in Waterdeep and Neverwinter, and Atlas and Soleil are often in Waterdeep for jobs.
It's celebrated after dark when the stars are visible and you try to find your lucky star in the night sky and it makes you lucky I think for the upcoming year, if not just for that night! It's especially lucky if it's cloudy out! It's seen as blessing from Tymora to find your star on a cloudy night! It's celebrated outside (even though it's winter and freezing and pretty much guaranteed to be snowy out) with food and drinks and people try to stay awake all night long for it!
Soleil and Atlas spend it wrapped in blankets searching the skies and pointing out each other's stars if they can find them if they didn't find them on their own. Soleil isn't good at finding the stars, and Atlas isn't good at finding his own star, but he's good at finding Soleil's. So, usually Atlas at least finds Soleil's star and Soleil can feel happy about seeing his. They usually have a good meal with looking and also have nicer wine than usual. They usually get a little silly together with the wine, but they never make it through the night. Soleil always falls asleep around 3 in the morning. He never makes it past then, so Atlas needs to carry him to bed and he snuggles up with him to try to fall asleep himself. It's usually laid back and just a nice night spent together. Like a good date night.
