FINALLY AFTER...weeks?...I think I've been working on these for weeks BUT NEVERMIND-

We finally get reference sheets for Illy!

This took...so long...

I DID NOT expect to have to do so many reference sheets for her but there were so many details and things that were important to her story and character that I had to-

Okay, I guess the biggest difference about Illy is that... she's part nymph now! Yeah, that, that's gonna be a different post entirely, soooo, you'll be getting her new story with that element soon!

For now, I really really wanna just talk about the design of her staff, cause that's really the BIG symbolic design here.

OKAY, so Illy's staff is forged by Douxie and Nari, a sort of surprise for her after witnessing her growth in magic. The staff has a lot to it, so let's get to it.

Since Illy is not only fairly skilled in an array of spells (from what she's learned in Camelot, 900 years ago AND from Douxie, after she goes with him to assist in protecting Nari) but also has mastered nature magic (both from 'apprenticing' under Nari for 900 years but also due to her natural ability in it from her nymph heritage), her staff represents that.

It's metal, with rune plates, slightly resembling Douxie and Merlin's staffs but is also half made of magical vines, leaves and flowers. Representing her skills and growth in magic.

The gem on top, resembles half a butterfly wing, which ties back to her nymph heritage as her wings are small butterfly wings.

The forget me nots. These are my favourites, alright, the flowers are symbolic of all the people that Illy has cared for but also people who have influenced her journey as a wizard.

Douxie, Archie and Nari.

Morgana, Merlin and her father, Rowan.

Her grandmother, Lymphea, her younger twin siblings, Orion and Thalia.

Krel, Zoe and Claire. (all three of whom, she considers family)

I really wanted to add symbolism into her staff cause it feels right to have a staff, something given to an apprentice or a spellcaster to show how far they've come, with symbolic meaning as to how they got there.

Now, like Douxie, her staff could also morph into a weapon. Her own spellcaster bow!

In which she shoots out magical blasts ala Madoka Magica.

The bow itself is simple, but does also have a tiny bit of symbolism too! It's made to resemble what Rowan would have made for Illy if he was still alive. Hence, the similar design choices to his panflute, wooden, leather grasp of some sort and rune stitching of the owner's name.

But because it is also her staff, there are also some elements that call back to it, such as the forget me not flowers and the same gem that appears on the leather grip.

It does glow turquoise, like her magic when it's in this form, similar to Douxie's spellcaster guitar.

Last thing, the bracelet ring chain.

This is basically my way of solving the, "How does she carry this staff that is slightly taller than herself out and about in the city?"

Basically, Illy learns a spell that would transform the staff into this bracelet ring chain that she could wear and easily access when in need of battle.

Cause some of us aren't lucky to have a magic charm bracelet for a staff to just disappear into-

⭐✨ M A G I C ✨⭐

Ok so... 

This is Muné (he/him + they/them), he's a genderqueer/nonbinary witch that works along with The Arcane Order.

His name is not pronounced like the French "Mune", though the name is generally inspired by it. Muné is pronounced in Spanish, with a foot/accent on the "e".

Anyways, let's get into his lore:

♾ In my AU interpretation of the Arcane Order using the Genesis Seals for good, Muné functions as a mediator, and his armor is moreso to keep his identity hidden and protect his squishy mortal body. Muné's magic is colored an iridescent color, and tinted a pale red. He replaces The Green Knight, as in, the Arcane Order never revived Arthur. If they attempt to reach Morgana, they'd do so through Muné.

♾ Unlike Green Knight, Muné is not controlled in any way by the Order. They work Along one another, Muné answering prompts if he can. What the Order appreciates most about Muné is his free will as a human. As deities, they have a duty to be somewhat aligned and in agreement with other deities. Muné can meddle in human affairs all he wants, but, of course, not without repercussions. 

🇵🇷 ...I planned to place Muné's date of birth in Puerto Rico, 1800's, and it's become a bit convoluted. (Basically during Spanish occupation. Muné intially only knows Spanish). Either way, he's Puertorrican and he does time travel if needed, so having an arc in that time space is still viable. His story is not very fleshed out, I simply think of too many alternatives and don't make up my mind, lol.

🇵🇷 The story I originally planned was heavily based on the history of Puerto Rico, (Borikén) and the Caribbean. It saddens me how xenophobic and colonized latine people are against eachother and I wish to remind them of how close we really are through history.

(Hint, hint, Guillermo del Toro. Step up.)

🇵🇷 Accompanying that is my own growth on learning about spirituality and real-life use of magic. I liked joking about the fae, vejigantes, local lore, that would influence how we view spirits, the islands, and the general legends that surround PR/Borikén.

⭐ I figured... It's way more a protection of Me and my learning experience than, whatever the heck canon ToA has going on. Monster designs are cool, but not satisfying for me.
