Here's some actual headcanons with the reader that's slightly more tamer than the oneshot
♡Jim Lake Jr. is a literal sweetheart.
♡Not only is he a Trollhunter who's definitely brave and cares for others, he is also kind of cute.
♡You first met him when you saved him from a big bad bully known as Steve. Back in the day, he wasn't the Trollhunter, so your bravery against the big bad boy surprised him. He was seen as just a regular plain old dude with a regular life, so from your savory alone made him feel the need to receive an adventure.
♡With that, you became best friends with Jim and Toby since last school year. Jim would never admit this to anyone, but he grew to have a totally normal crush on you.
♡Not only does he admire your bravery, kindness, and consideration, you're also really beautiful to his eyes. Your looks are way too pure to get harmed by anything. And by anything, he means 𝗮𝗻𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴.
♡You were the first person to find out about Jim becoming the first human Trollhunter. He literally told you way before he thought of telling his long best friend. How ironic, because you've met a year ago but he and Toby met way longer ago than just one year.
♡While he was surprised and kind of excited about destiny, he couldn't help but feel the burdening feeling within his heart. If he has to go out trollhunting, it means you'd be dragged into this mess. He cursed himself that he was foolish to tell you of all people about his new duty.
♡He already hovers over his own mother and friend, so you can imagine how bad his concern is towards you. First off, if you insist on fighting by his side, that's an immediate no no from him. No matter how persuasive you are, he's stubborn as a hard brick with concrete.
♡If you get hitted on, no matter if you're flattered or uninterested, he is immediately not happy with the said person. He'll often try to tell them off that they must've had better things to do than whatever they're doing. What is the last straw to these kinds of situations go as far as to fake trouble around you guys so you can hide away.
♡Of course during the aftermath, he tells himself he did something awful, that there's no way a Trollhunter would do something like that. But he knows for sure that he doesn't feel bad at all, he's only thriving that you at least listen to him during these false alarms.
♡While he is obsessed with you, it doesn't mean he isn't a wuss. He is very shy when it comes to giving you affection, at least if you two ever start dating. In no way shape or form Jim ever would give you a peck out of the blue. You do give him credit for that.
♡There may or may not be a moment one day where he actually snaps. He would kill for you from many causes. Endangerment, near death experience, and jealousy are all part of the list of what not to do to push his buttons.
♡If he does take the latter, he never fails to surprise himself that he feels no remorse for the culprit that had to fall under his sword or hands.
♡Other than that whole fiasco, he's just your totally normal best friend who's also a hero to not just everyone else, but also you.
