Drawing every Wings of fire dragon in a reverse alphabetic order - Sunstreak, princess Sunset, Sunny and Sundew
Side notes:
Sunstreak wears a this clothing because in my view beetlewings are close to China culture-wise. I didn't make it 1 to 1 intentionally, but maybe someday I will draw more bugs in a similar clothing.
Yeah, Sunset is only memorable for her death scene. I also gave her more treasures to wear to show her royal status.
Sunny is a funny case. I madeher bipedal, kangaroo-esque, like cartoony pear-shaped dragons from media that aren't focused on realism. This also shows her difference from other dragons. And gave her some stripes because I've been feeling like sandwings should have more funky color patterns... She of course wears a bandana like PMD characters. I also gave her a more serious expression to show that she isn't all cheerful and cutesy, but a smart, strategic and determined dragon. And as one my friend suggested it would be cool if Sunny had a tail curved like a scorpion tail, even though she doesn't have the stinger.
Sundew is heavily inspired by Huntress Wizard from Adventure time. And she has leather bags instead of leafy ones, because... leafs become dry very quickly, you know? It's not like leafwings don't have access to leather. Red accents are also a good detail to give her resemblance to real sundews + to show her fierceness.
I love giving stripes to dragons.
