About Scavengers in WoF
Tui, on multiple occasions, has hinted in the books that dragons have called humans "scavengers" in Wings of Fire since the Scorching. So, that being said, how would they know what the word "humans" meant?
Wren introduced the word "humans" to Snowfall and the other dragons in The Dangerous Gift. At that time, nobody knew the word "humans" at all or what it meant. The only times that the word had ever been referenced were in the humans' language. And, from what I can tell, the humans' language is completely different from the dragons' language.
So, how did the word "humans" come into play? Did Wren just make up the word, so humans would sound less like prey or mindless animals? Or, was it a word that had been spoken before, like a scientific name that a dragon like Mastermind uses, and Wren just recovered it? It's very confusing.
Somehow, though, the dragons accept the word easily. It is spoken freely in the last chapters of The Dangerous Gift and throughout the whole book in The Flames of Hope. Wren's letter in A Guide to the Dragon World also says that the humans prefer being called "humans" over being called "scavengers" (and I personally agree).
Wren and Sky from the upcoming Wings of Fire Legends: Dragonslayer!! Also there’s a speedpaint too, yay :D
