Turns out hares have some pretty sharp claws so hare!y/n could do some damage to fox!sun and moon, like say one of the boys sneak up and pounce on hare!y/n to be playful but they just quick turn around and slash them across the snout in fear before running away

Oh, claws! They would use their claws as a very last resort. Hare Y/N's instinct is to flee then, if cornered, they'd box and kick. They start clawing if there's no other choice (and they fight dirty with their claws). Sun and Moon think their claws are adorable, not as long nor sharp as their own, but useful in their own right. Eclipse also fawns over Hare Y/N's claws. He takes their hands to examine their much smaller and fine fingers, and smiles as if he could simply eat them up.
