Commish for @92ndletter ~!
Continuing a wacky series about Wolfang finding himself in various misadventures where, like Waspinator and Wile E. Coyote, he's able to shrug off the worst of it.
The initial idea was just Megatron fighting Wolfang and crushing him into a cube, but I added the narrative that Wolfang was outed as a spy to give Megatron more of a reason, lol.
In Japanese media, Wolfang is both a Maximal and a Predacon due to a funny quirk. The original toy was released as "Howlinger", while a red repaint for the Telemocha re-release line retained the original name Wolfang, but reclassified him as a Predacon.
Some obscure media, to reconcile this quirk, casts Wolfang as a spy depending on the scenario, so I went with a similar idea, where he was working for the Maximals, and tried infiltrating the Predacons. Besides his colors changing, and a flimsy claim he's a coyote rather than a wolf, in Robot Mode, his "Mutant Head" retracted to reveal his normal robot face.
The Wolfang series is its own thing where it bounces between stuff like Beast Wars II and the American series, but the general idea of Wolfang as a Double Spy was a reoccurring plot point in an IDW Beast Wars AU I toy with on occasion, so this slides fairly neatly into that.
(Iguanus, Retrax, Terragator join the Predacons in the AU which is why Iguanus is here in particular, with the later two being Skold's attempts at making her own group from Protoforms).
You can easily see that I was inspired and borrowed some ideas from the fan base, but also added something of my own.
In the US, Airazor was a girl, but in Japan, she was a boy (although in some manga, if I'm not mistaken, she was shown as a girl). So I decided to make her genderfluid. And bisexuality from season 3 of the "War for Cybertron" trilogy, in which episode she was kissed by Blackarachnia (this also influenced Blackarachnia's sexual orientation)
In the fandom: Optimus Prime is bisexual and Megatron (Predacon) is gay, but for me it's the other way around. And Megatron is also genderqueer.
The various decorations on Scorponok are associated with ancient Egyptian gods and, in my opinion, it looks beautiful (you can write your impression and opinion)
I didn't really like that one of the Transmutate toys had an alternate form of a Tyrannosaurus skeleton, and it was rude (considering what happened to it in the show and how others perceived it). For me, the reindeer/sika deer hybrid is a softer and more lively option.
Random Old Comic: Poker https://www.toyboxcomix.com/2017/05/21/poker/ They're all dogs. Get it?
Speaking of Bluestreak.
In my own ideas about how new bots are born, living metal forms sort of an "egg" around a new spark when the Matrix/Allspark spawns it and then the sphere slowly develops colors, patterns, biologhts, and transformation seams before unfolding into a sparkling (which then grows slowly via minerals in energon it eats adding to its body mass, and can still turn into a sphere as a defense mechanism until kibble starts intervening).
It'd propably make the most sense for the sparklings' caretakers to give them their names before they "hatch". Most names aren't about physical attributes but.... some are. Like for example Bluestreak, my throwaway OC Blueback whose name I got from a random TF name generator, and an obscure Autobot named Pincher (the first two more so). Let alone altmode-related names like Wolfang. I'm not sure how to make it make sense.
They be yapping.
