Let’s review this shit show of male domination and TW: possible sexual assault.

Oh sex dream. Yes you drop into this book in dream but you don’t know it. If you chose to flirt with Bastien you end up having sex with him. It’s brief and interrupted by a freaking car accident.

It’s also a version of sexual assault. Not sure what to call it as it happens in her head but not in real life. Doesn’t make it any less horrific.

Why?

Well Bastien (now to be called Mr Redflag) pulls you from the wreckage and as you talk to him you discover (kind of indirectly) that he has been invading your dreams. Specifically this one, he mentions he doesn’t think you’d be driving. This means he chose to have sex with you and you having no idea this was a dream weren't really given a choice. One person in full control of the situation, other person unable to consent.... yeah...

Moving on I mean we were warned there was going to be this bond thing and while it’s weird to be that close it certainly not unexpected.

I’ll skip a bit of the book. You can get creepily close to Mr Redflag here. It’s all about the ‘we have this unexpected bond’ thing and visiting the scene of your assault. Of course you don’t see it that way because ‘the bond’. It’s definitely creepy vibes but right on par for the Omegaverse... I think that’s what it’s called. Thanks, Lindsay Ellis for introducing me to this concept. I’d rather have not.

You meet your Uncle who like you mother is really vague about everything. Cool we’re going to build into this.

Chapter 2

Now remember there’s a whole conversation in the forest with Mr Redflag about how your mother hates the place and doesn’t talk about it. SO WHY THE FUCK WOULD YOU THINK MC WOULD KNOW ABOUT THE RITUAL OR WEREWOLVES? LIKE WTF DUDE?

In this entire chapter we’re being told how MC feels safe. like over and over again. Like she belongs here. Over and over again. Just in case you didn't get that from being kidnapped and made to take part in a ’bonding’ ritual without your consent.

RUN, MC, RUN

If you have to keep repeating over and over again that you’re safe (or to the reader), that you feel it. That none of this weirds you out. You’re REALLY ignoring all the danger signals. There’s nothing safe about being kidnapped.

At this point, MC needs to leave. Don’t look back. YOUR MOTHER WAS RIGHT.

Then Morgan shows up and the weird bond thing with her is in play. Ignoring that, Morgan is the one making the most sense.

Of course Mr Redflag comes out and finds them together and goes off!

He literally gets so angry about you talking to another person he goes wolf and shouts..

Okay tbh I’ve been needing to draw these guys full body. My jaw dropped when I relearned their heights. (7’3 and 5’9?!! Brother) but I love it. I love them. I need Kid to visibly look like he’s in his 30’s (he’s 34 right? Am I wrong?) and Law to look so uncanny it’s hard to maintain eye contact with him unless you’re Kid.

I’m now on chapter 7, it’s great. The ritual was great I now have like 2 scenes I need to draw, but this was needed to establish what they look like in my head.
