10: Scariest monster to fight?

hmmm... all right, most of these answers are going to be stories-based, so!

i’d say rajang is definitely up there, as well as that pink rathian (you know the the one) and the agnaktor ex during the story, but the scariest monster i’ve actually fought is probably the final boss of the main game. it’s not really the MOST difficult, but the narrative and mechanical tension in the moment really does make battling this thing intense. you want to win because you feel like you can’t afford to lose. plus on repeat fights, the fear of am i doing enough damage before black reprimand hits is scary in a different way. 

11: What’s something you wish the games had?

more quests that have to do with preserving and researching the environment, and more story importance placed on those quests! give me a quest about helping a baby monster get to its nest. don’t have the baby monster be dead weight or anything, though, that’s just an escort mission. i just want there to be less lore / gameplay dissonance.

Music/literature headcanons for the Night Master:

So looking at his whole aesthetic, you’d think it’s pretty obvious he’d like  instrumental arrangements and gothic lit, right?

Well you’d be wrong!

Don’t get him wrong, he can appreciate both in their own way, and there are a couple that he really likes. But overall they’re kinda... dry. He needs a little more nuance, more punch.

His favorite kind of literature is crime novels/mysteries, because even if he doesn’t like the story odds are he’ll still feel compelled to keep reading to see how it ends. Which, in his opinion, means the book is doing it’s job and holding his attention (and considering the amount of free time he likely had to slog through, is very important to him).

For music he falls firmly in the camp of “depends on my mood.” While he does have a preference for songs in minor key, what he actually listens to is all over the board. Sometimes he prefers the aforementioned instrumentals, and other times he’s not satisfied until he can feel the bass line reverberating in his chest.
