MY HGTV OBSESSION IS FINALLY PAYING OFF

so ollie and wicks spend the majority of their free time watching hgtv and designing fake little houses and shit and after college they go into their respective fields (nursing? teaching? motivational speaking?) happy enough because they like their jobs but a couple years down the line jack and bitty have bought a house and they’re remodeling to make it perfect for them and they cannot not find one designer willing to deal with bitty’s high maintenance attitude (it’s his kitchen guys) and jack is just no help at all (”er, i don’t know? they all look nice?” ugh no help)

SO in come their friends from college who they kept in touch with because they’re a big lovey dovey family of love. everyone knew how much ollie and wicks loved home design and hgtv and whatever, so bitty hires them and IT’S PERFECT. they know how to deal with bitty’s attitude from when he was their captain and they’re mad efficient and have great suggestions to make bitty’s dream a reality AND IT’S SWAWESOME

but that’s really it for a while. they help remodel bitty and jack’s house and go back to their jobs and that’s it. THEN bitty is featured in some fancy cooking magazine and there’s a photo shoot of him in his kitchen and everyone is dying over how gorgeous it is and they ask who did their remodel and bitty names ollie and wicks.

this is when things start to go really weird, because suddenly there’s a representative from HGTV at their house (who gave them the address?) and they’re saying that they want to pay for them to start up a show even though they have little to no actual experience renovating houses (they helped their respective parents, and they’ve got projects all around their house, but aside from bitty and jack’s house it’s like nothing?) and then there’s this really lengthy contract being put in front of them and they’re like Wut.

they have their lawyer read it over (Mr. Crappy at your service) and agree to a one-season contract because you know what? they like their jobs but this sounds fun and their kids (they have two, a four year old boy and a little toddler who loves to sit on her daddy’s shoulders and direct everything) think it could be fun and they deserve it, okay? they like this stuff and if they make money, great, if not, they could always say they tried.

so queue a fixer-upper style show but with two bro-ed out guy parents and their fucking adorable kids going around fixing up shitty houses and selling them to people who need good homes at fairly affordable prices and the show takes off and they’re raking in all this cash and they’re just so happy and gay it’s GREAT

also maybe there’s a reunion episode with all the guys from the team where they renovate the Haus-- which has fallen into near-unliveable conditions through the years-- and the couch is still there! and bitty nearly burns it but shitty saves it and now it’s sitting in his and lardo’s living room and they think there’s something living in it BUT THE MEMORIES and they walk into the attic and there’s an emotional scene where they’re like “this is where we fell in love.” and the producer/cameraman or whatever is like “oh? how’d that happen?” and ollie and wicks are like “two twin beds would have ruined the design so we got a queen and ended up realizing how much we loved each other by the end of the semester”
