A cool keeper mentality: I want this species but I cannot afford/give this species the correct care or guarantee my personal circumstances. So I will admire, handle and love said species without the need to impulse buy and expose them to my less than ideal husbandry.

Cradle and All ~~ [Womas]
@flippin--corduroy
Thomas had told Annie he would build their son a crib. Actually, he promised himself that he would build his son a crib, and then, he had also promised Annie that he would build her for their son a crib too. (And, despite their...estrangement, he was gonna do it. If not for Annie, then for the bairn.) Which meant that he had two cribs to build and just about a month to do it. The timing had snuck up on him. He couldn’t believe in just a month, he would be able to finally hold his son in his arms and he would be a real, living, breathing person. (He was, already, of course, but not to Tom, who had only seen him in ultrasounds, who hadn’t even been able to feel him kick in the womb.)
It was just luck, really, that Swynlake boasted its own woodshop. That meant he wouldn’t have to wait for lumber to get to him, he could purchase it local. So, on a random week day, one of his only days off before Levi was born, Tom made his way to Oaken’s and entered the shop, a man (a very tired man), on a mission. He made his way right up to the counter, to the woman sitting behind it.
“Ahem--is there someone I can talk to about what wood is best for a specific project?” he asked her, glancing around--looking for someone working the floor.
